The break almost every beer into singles. Normally that’s cool, but its just a bunch of mostly available beers. This place is cool for an AZ resident looking to get midwest ticks. However, very few AZ beers. Prices are higher than Total Wines. Not sure I’d come back, head to Total.

I had the worst experience ever. The head sommelier Jean-Paul was completely rude and unhelpful and did not want me in the store. He refused to sell me a beer and burbon I wanted that were in stock. He was saving them for better customers. The AZ craft beer site is all about good people, places and sharing. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. I do not understand why a business would allow discriminatory practices of customers. I would encourage all beer geeks to boycott the store, There are other great beer stores in the valley.

Selection isn’t nearly what I expected. Service isn’t very good. Overpriced too.

Definitely one of the better selections of all the AJ’s in the area. In addition to the bottles of local and national craft they also have the odd Mikkeller, evil twin, emelisse, and nogne o thrown in there. I also found a unibroue that’s no longer brewed so may or may not be disconcerting. Still, it’s one of the best local places to get a mix six.

I wish I were in Arcadia more to visit JPs new hood. I’m a fan of the AJs stores in the valley, and this is certainly one of, if not the, best one. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area and pair your selections with something from the cheese and/or produce section.

This was the only beer store I visited while in AZ and I will say it had a far superior selection to any bar I went to. Even those with a selection of bottles into the 100s. AJ’s is a large higher end grocery store that strikingly reminds me of Greenlife in Asheville. Prices are more than I’m used to seeing in the east, but everything in Phoenix seemed a little higher. Lots of singles are available. Good stuff abound is on the shelf: Alesmith, Alaskan, Epic. It’s a good place to get basically any bottled AZ beer too.

One of the largest refrigerated beer selections in the valley...and if it is highly rated, Jonpol has it. Can’t beat the service and knowledge he brings. For selfish reasons, wish he never left the Glendale location but heading out there is always worth the drive. Not only will his location always have ample supply of the best brewery’s regular offerings, the rare stuff finds its way to the shelf. Many times, you’ll find it here first and it sticks around longer. Find a way to get here.

This is a very nice AJ’s to be sure. It has the best beer selection I have seen to date and nearly everything is kept in an actively cooled environment (unlike many other beer stores in AZ). They have plenty to choose from here that I haven’t seen elsewhere. Like the other AJ’s I’ve been to their prices are a bit higher than elsewhere. Still I may go out of my way to come back here for both food and beer.

If you haven’t guessed, this is a high-end grocery store (think Whole Foods) with a VERY respectable beer-wine-liquor selection. Before walking into the centrally located beer aisle, I spotted several prices ($4.89 for a box of Cap’n Crunch) that got me a little worried about the adequacy of my bankroll. But the beer section was fairly priced with many singles available in the $1.59-$1.99 range. I didn’t catch the name of the section manager, but he was polite and offered helpful suggestions. If you are staying at a Biltmore-neighborhood hotel, this is a great place to stop to stock your room refrigerator.
