88 Swung by on a Thursday evening, crowded place. Cascade is obviously known for their sours, and their sours are terrific, but tons of other great stuff, too, including a barrel aged Adambier that was just a home run. Great place for ticking, too, as you can pay for pours as small as 2 oz. Classic brewery taproom, worth a visit. |
78 Was at Cascade five or six years ago with some friends on a late Saturday afternoon. I know they are famous for their Sours and I'm not really into sours but thought I'd give it a try. Smallish bar area with outside seating. Food was decent but a little on the high side price wise. Tried some sours, some were OK others not so much. |
76 Medium sized taproom with patio outside. Classic taproom in terms of interior, not many people in side or outside during our visit. About 30 taps of sours and other styles, some guest ciders. More in bottles. These days I'm less enthusiastic about Cascade so wasn't thrilled by any of the beers I've tried. Worth checking out and I'd revisit to see if I get the better vibe about the place. |
84 Came for dinner as seemed like best food of breweries nearby. Decor was ok with some outside seating. Nothing remarkable. About to start a trivia night which I would have loved but too many spots to hit. My food was excellent morel gnocchi with smoked duck. Although too heavy for night full of beer adventure. Decent selection with all their famous sours. On the pricey side. |
68 Not surprisingly, this place is a little snobby. Servers were OK but the hosts were positively douchy. They barked at me for wandering past the please wait to be seated spot when nobody was there then proceeded to seat people who clearly arrived after me first. Beer is pretty good, and more to the point, affordable in a way that it usually isn’t if found anywhere in bottle. Beers were less sour and more palatable than they have been in the past, in my experience. Lots of stuff available here too. |
82 Its a legendary place, with the live tapped barrel and nice indoor and outdoor seating space. Service was friendly and seemed truly grateful we were there, knew the beers well enough. Selection was impressive, not only all the sours you can possibly think they would have, but also some things you wouldn't expect like lagers and IPAs. Worth a stop, just for the beer history. |
82 One of the standout places during our visit to Portland and Oregon in general. Huge tap-list of complex barrel-aged sour rarities that takes some time to read through, affordable 2oz pours. No guests, apart from a cider. Lively, busy atmosphere for an early Monday evening. Server very attentive, perhaps too much at times. Don't quite understand why most bars here only have two toilet cubicles for the entire place, expect to stand in line and wait, but you'll be used to that. Overall a must-visit for the sour-minded drinker. |
