A little pricey for the area but one of the best beer lists on the East Coast, period. You want vintages going back, come here. You want Belgian and Italian beer, come here. World-class. New breweries on tap. Superb staff. Great place.

Went in on a Friday night, maybe around 10PM. Place was pretty packed, but it was nice out so most people were outside. Service was really slow, but the selection was insane. Prices were pretty reasonable. Definitely a must-try if you’re in Portland.

Huge expectations, but in the end didn’t live up to them.
Very cool location, love the beer garden, decor inside a bit boring.
Service was too busy to be helpful or personable, had 3 different servers in roughly 2 hours.
The draft list gets a big do-over. Half the list was Sierra Nevada due to an event the night before. A couple nice locals, but I feel like I missed out big time.
Bottle list was great, Cantillon available, decent pricing.
A nice touch was the beer program for ticking specific beers.
Food was supremely disappointing. Gross pate, and horrendous sausage. Did have some outstanding rosemary ham.
Not a destination bar as I was lead to believe. If in town check it out, but not our of your way.
I gave it a second chance and was just as average as my first visit. The draft list was pedestrian. The bottle list was just as a bad. Their vintage list was nothing I couldn’t go to my local store and get. This place is a skip.

Ok ok this is the place to go if ur on the east coast!! Built inside an old bank this place is cozy but at the same is huge! Obviously you can’t get in most of the hidden rooms but still the room with the fire place really warms u up during Maine winters. Service is simply outstanding and selection is one the best so far in the U.S.! Get there!

A really fine place this one, with a wonderful and varied beer selection. We started out at the patio, and the waiter kept the beers comin’, and when it started to get a bit cool outside, we moved inside and got the same dedicated service. It was actually quicker to have the waiter get us the beers than approaching the bar and ordering the beers ourself. Got nice food as well. No wonder this spot is on top of the Portland places list.

Nice place, kind of hidden in on the back side of the plaza, basement but ceilings are tall enough so I don’t feel claustrophobic. Brick and dark wood bar is about a dozen people. With a bunch of table and a separate front room. Good selection 9 Maine beers and 25 American euro mix. Had a snack of cheese and salami was good, prices fair for area. Overall I like it, I’d be here a bunch if I lived here worth of a visit if in the metro Portland area

Located off a side alley and it’s easy to spot the sign on the Exchange Street side, just across from Thirsty Pig. Nice and comfortable inside when not too packed. They were hosting a Belgian beer fest over the weekend which is all good and well, and fortunately there were local beers still pouring on tap too such as Oxbow, Allagash, Maine Beer Co etc. I only had snacks but food menu available. Outside patio is great for warmer days. Service is fine but expect it to slow right down when busy. I enjoyed my visits here.

On the night that we were there, there were, possibly, and at the most, 5 other people in the place! The service was great, I think, mostly due to the lack of people. There’s a nice, cozy fireplace, and leather couches that you can sit on, and thankfully, those were ours for a few hours. Kicked back, and enjoyed some Allagash, and a few other Maine beers that I don’t recall the name of. I didn’t try any food, so I have nothing to say there. The ambiance is cool; it has this basement-like, library feel to it, almost. I think the latter is due to the fireplace, and coziness. Anyways, I could see myself passing out on that fucking couch many a night, if I lived in Portland. All in all, great place, with a great list.
