Been to the Scripps Ranch location quite a few times...Great nautical/fish paintings, very friendly and helpful service. Lots of unique beer selections available in addition to their regulars. Beer tours are fun and informative. I wish they had a restaurant instead or in addition to the food trucks.

Very surprised that all of their beers are drinkable and taste awesome, regardless of a newbie palette or if you’ve been around the block

This place is on Old Grove Road in an office/professional park. It’s a brewery that has makeshifted it’s unused space into a tasting area. Complete with a long bar, a few tables strewn around, and some window seal and wall mounted surfaces on which to sit your beer. There’s an outdoor seating area, complete with four tops and umbrellas. It was a busy evening. Some of the work crowd leaving the office the last time for the week (it was Friday evening). The service is pretty attentive given the size of the crowd. It’s a walk-up-to-the-bar-and-order system. While they would answer questions about beers, they seemed canned and rushed. I won’t knock them too badly for that. They were busy after all. Quite a few offerings on tap. Some quite interesting to include the Indra Kunindra (curry stout) and a habanero ale. Flights are available making it possible for a person to taste several different beers. There’s a pretty good vibe in this place all in all. I gave this place 3.5 on service just because other places in San Diego were more friendly and accommodating. It’s almost unfair for me to compare them, however, because none of these other places were nearly as busy. The atmosphere could be spruced up a little to help distinguish the tasting area from the brewery. The outdoor seating helps.

Really close to USD. The place is mostly a homebrew store, but there is a nice tasting bar in the back. The usual Ballast Point suspects along with a handful of seasonal and one-off/rotational beers on tap.

Terrific atmosphere - Great service and very tasty taps to draw from. Love this place They give a great tour and the tasters where very good. A must stop.

I always drop by for their beer when I’m in the area. Fun space that is always packed, but offers a couple variations on their bottled line of beers. Being down the road from AleSmith is a huge bonus for those driving around SD on beer tours :)

Really chill taster/growler bar inside of an amazing homebrew shop. Lots of cool special BP beers and very friendly and knowledgeable service.

If I were rating only the beer, this score would be much higher. Their beer is REAL good for the most part. But this is a place rating so unless your a homebrewer their isn’t much reason to come to this location. This is pretty much a homebrew shop and tasting room. Nowhere to sit, only a few bar height tables to stand at. Growler refills is a plus. They teach homebrew classes here sometimes too which seems cool.

Superb! Ryan was an amazing host. Tap selection was awesome. Great place to visit.

This is the best place I’ve ever been. Why? Its a homebrew shop... so they are willing to talk about the beer with a beer geek. As for the Beers... AMAZING AMAZING. So unique. They will tell you about what they are using, and give you ideas to take home. Tasting price is cheaper than their other location. The service was exceptional. I’m a beer geek, there were other beer geeks there, and they seemed to know us beer geeks can talk about the beer we are sipping and talk with us. I LOVE THIS PLACE. AND LOVE THERE BEER. To bad i’m 1000 miles away.
