Decent place in downtown San Diego. Good beer selection. Their own beers are average to good. Food was quite ok. Might visit again, but mostly for the ticks.

I hoofed it over here from the City Center trolley stop. It isnít too bad of a walk. The space was pretty full for an average Tuesday at 5:30. This day you needed to figure out a place to hunker down and then slip into the bar area to try and make an order. So like many places, that leaves you up to being aced out several times in a row as friends and regulars are served before you. There was a nice mix of house offerings as well as other good local stuff. I love how up to date they keep their website tap list, for the most part. Making my beer geekery a little easier. The ales were served in chilled glassware and too cold and mostly in tumblers. Oh well. Iím not sure if flights or sample trays are available, maybe they are, I failed to ask. The food was pretty good where you go to a window/hole to place your order. Due to the location and the problem to just get a beer Iíll likely go elsewhere in the future.

Pretty cool dive style bar, only with friendly service and really nice people. Their beers are ok but they have a ton of other beers too. Food is basic and helps soak up the booze. Very fun, unpretentious place and makes a nice change to the bars near gas lamp!

Taxi to here from our hotel and we start the night drinking (18th March 2014). One roomed dive joint with the bar to your left on entering, a food hatch towards the rear on the right. Basic table and chairs/benches for furniture, bit noisy for me and the wife to be honest, but we sat down to acclimatize before I wandered over and ordered a flight of their own beers: they donít do flights of anyone elses brews by the way, which I didnít know when trying to order. The beers were fine, as was the service. Food was ísloppyí but good and filling, the lady in her ícabiní coming out to deliver it before returning to her safe area! Different to what I expected, but overall not a bad place.

A very hip dive bar located on the edge of downtown that has a pretty good selection of their house beers and other local breweries. Definitely a good place to stop before or after Padresís game.

Despite that fact that I arrived thirty minutes before the place opened the staff were friendly enough to let me take a seat and peruse the extensive draft list. Once they officially opened I was able to enjoy a diverse range of beers from many locals breweries. In addition to about eight house taps there were also an equal number of guest drafts. I did not get a close look at the bottle list but based on the contents of the fridge behind the bar this place has brought its íAí game.
Walking here from downtown is a bit of trek so it is recommended to either drive or catch a cab. The neighborhood lacks the character of Little Italy or the Gaslamp District but more than makes up for it with the friendliness of the attentive staff. Food is typical bar fare and reasonably priced.
If youíve got time or canít go much beyond downtown I would recommend coming by here. A nice diamond in the rough about halfway between Liberty Station and North Park it is a brewery which everyone will probably be hearing from in the future.

Iím a bit skewed on this place, because we often end up here after a long day at the ballpark. This is a great stop after the Padres game, or a concert downtown. Their own beers are fine to great, with the great being not as frequent. Good jukebox, but yes, loud. Fun, loud place.

A funky little bar/ brewpub in a rather rough part of downtown San Diego. (By that I mean the homeless population is adequate.) The ambiance in here is pure dive bar. The four beers I tried were all average or slightly better. The service is attentive and friendly. There is also a wide range of other breweries on tap, including lots of local SD shops. Good value. I would recommend a visit here if you are in this part of town.

We visited this place on the 24th of December 2013 after a round of Golf at Balboa Park, only 5 minutes drive from there, hence located very centrally. Looks more like a brew bar with an attached small brewery. Like the atmosphere of the pub, dark wooden interior, long bar with many guest beers (also quite impressive bottle selection: Schlenkerla, Samichlaus, ...).Has an own character. Beers are not my taste, a bit watery. We had an Oatmeal Pale Ale and a Brown Ale, both below San Diego average. Service was a bit unfriendly. I recommend coming to the Pub, but would drink great beers from other breweries in the Sand Diego area.
