Overall pretty great dive bar with a ton of taps, cheap flights, and an overall good experience.

Despite that fact that I arrived thirty minutes before the place opened the staff were friendly enough to let me take a seat and peruse the extensive draft list. Once they officially opened I was able to enjoy a diverse range of beers from many locals breweries. In addition to about eight house taps there were also an equal number of guest drafts. I did not get a close look at the bottle list but based on the contents of the fridge behind the bar this place has brought its íAí game.

Walking here from downtown is a bit of trek so it is recommended to either drive or catch a cab. The neighborhood lacks the character of Little Italy or the Gaslamp District but more than makes up for it with the friendliness of the attentive staff. Food is typical bar fare and reasonably priced.

If youíve got time or canít go much beyond downtown I would recommend coming by here. A nice diamond in the rough about halfway between Liberty Station and North Park it is a brewery which everyone will probably be hearing from in the future.

Iím a bit skewed on this place, because we often end up here after a long day at the ballpark. This is a great stop after the Padres game, or a concert downtown. Their own beers are fine to great, with the great being not as frequent. Good jukebox, but yes, loud. Fun, loud place.

A funky little bar/ brewpub in a rather rough part of downtown San Diego. (By that I mean the homeless population is adequate.) The ambiance in here is pure dive bar. The four beers I tried were all average or slightly better. The service is attentive and friendly. There is also a wide range of other breweries on tap, including lots of local SD shops. Good value. I would recommend a visit here if you are in this part of town.

We visited this place on the 24th of December 2013 after a round of Golf at Balboa Park, only 5 minutes drive from there, hence located very centrally. Looks more like a brew bar with an attached small brewery. Like the atmosphere of the pub, dark wooden interior, long bar with many guest beers (also quite impressive bottle selection: Schlenkerla, Samichlaus, ...).Has an own character. Beers are not my taste, a bit watery. We had an Oatmeal Pale Ale and a Brown Ale, both below San Diego average. Service was a bit unfriendly. I recommend coming to the Pub, but would drink great beers from other breweries in the Sand Diego area.

Dive bar feel outside but a friendly pub atmosphere inside. If you Google the history of that building, looks like itís always been a dive bar (formerly the Jewel Box). Their location may creep out some, but itís worth it to at least visit, try one of their brews and maybe have a bite to eat. Staff and service were very good, the food was pretty good (pulled pork sandwich) and their house beers are very drinkable (I had their Howler IPA).

Great beer selection. But a bit of a dive bar feel. A bit dark inside. But cool wait staff and again, great beer. Which is all you need!

Not a bad place, food was okay, beers tasty, just too loud for an old man like me, I just canít understand why music is so loud in a craft ale bar, just my own preference, definitely worth a visit.

Popular, fun dive bar with a mega tap list featuring their own beers and an awesome guest tap selection. Look and feel is nearly a clone of Hamiltonís. The big advantage is the house beers, which are of varying quality but in general very good. They have sampler flights of everything, served on paddles. Great ambiance, cheap high quality beer. A local hangout for sure. Didnít eat here but the food menu seems solid. Will be back.

This place is on a quiet corner of a dark street but itís really cool. Lots of taps and lots of house beers. They do flights of 4 (only for house beers) so we got three flights. The bartender was really nice and gave me the employee discount. The beers were all decent, which was impressive considering just how many I tried. Non were amazing but they were all drinkable. Will definitely go back eventually.
