Last Friday Afternoon my Wife and I stopped in for a beer and a snack. There were 8 people in line ahead of us and it took 20 minutes to get thru that. We already had a lunch at Big Fatty's so we just got the wings and we did not have to worry about it being too much. These were the smallest skimpiest wings I ever saw. There were several beers I have not had yet. I had a nice Exhibit 'A' Stout there though.

Located just off the main town square in South Royalton which is a tiny little town in a picturesque location. The restaurant looks like it's in an old train depot with a decent sized outdoor space. It's Very rustic on the inside with a small bar area and kitchen. I didn't have the food which I now regret but they had a pretty good tap list of Vermont and regional craft with the odd Singlecut or alesmith thrown in. Very friendly staff made me feel instantly welcome. I'm almost tempted to move here just so I can hang out here more often.

As is the tendency in Vermont, walk in to get a very soft, friendly, welcoming atmosphere in spite of the popularity in peak hours. Burgers are top notch, standing out with top notch local ingredients. The tap list consists mostly of carefully selected local offerings, the ones you want to see as a visitor, really. Attentive, friendly staff offers a great service. A fine spot, in a very nice, by the railroad setout.

Visited shortly after they opened on a friday for lunch. This place is in a town without much else going on, but supposedly it is the town the Gilmore Girls intro was made in. My wife insisted I know that. They are off by themselves in a repurposed train station. They have a pretty large gravel parking lot and a nice patio to sit on if the weather is nice. We opted for inside, which is predominantly high tops and the bar, but there are a few lower tables available. The beer selection is very good, with an emphasis on local. I visited them at the tail end of my vermont visit, and found new vermont breweries to try, so they carry a great selection. They also had several Hill Farmsteads on draft, so that alone should draw you in. The food here is Burgers and other pub food. I had the namesake burger with an order of the parmesan truffle fries. All was awesome. Definitely stop here if you are in the area.

Coupled with the Worthy Kitchen this is one my favorite places to drink beer in the world. Love it. Only downside is that it gets pretty busy and can be hard to find a seat.

Called here after a visit to Bent Hill. Was given a run down on how things work in here upon walking in, which I appreciated, being a newbie round these parts. Great tap list. Half pours available. Burgers and fries were really good. The staff were cool, in an attentive, but not in your face way, which I like. Good prices. If I was staying closer it’d have been hard to not eat and drink here everyday.

If you want to grab a good burger, this is THE place to go. The fact that they are serving some awesome beers as well, only makes it nicer... Prairie Hop, Hermit Thrush 4 star Magnum, Grimm Rainbow Dome, LF SoS... Incredible. And the burgers... very well cooked, hand cut fries as a side, some fresh salad... Not your most refined food, but very tasty. Overall, this place is so worth a detour when travelling through VT!!

Visited 7-12. Quite the haul from Foley Brothers, but was oh so worth it! If you’re coming from there, keep an eye on your speed. I got pulled over by a small town local cop on my way for speeding (even though it wasn’t officially clocked, he was just driving behind me in a pick-up truck). We arrived here and the place was packed. I parked all the way at the end when first pulling in. Walked inside and the place was popping. People talking, drinking, eating. Pretty cool little place. Big board with draft beer options listed and then a couple of food boards you can stand and look at to see what you want to eat. Burgers come one way and you add toppings from there. Hand cut fries too! Servers were very friendly for how busy they were. We all ordered and got a little buzzer and went out back to the other seating area as no tables were left inside. It was stifling hot outside, but we each had a couple ice cold beers to keep us content. When the food was ready, we got buzzed and picked it up at the counter. Absolutely superb burgers, best I’ve ever had. Fries were superb as well. Can’t complain here at all. If you want one hell of a great burger meal then hit this place up. Plus, any beer fans will be perfectly happy as well. Want to go back here for sure.

This place is phenomenal. Great range of beers with a strong focus on Vermont. Excellent burgers. Friendly staff. Chill vibes. Lovely small-town location. I would go out of my way to grab a meal here.

Visited on a saturday around 6 pm.

Ambiance: Place was almost full, but we had place to sit without waiting.

Service: Bar service only, but it’s quick for beer and not too long for food. And they do tabs like Julien said.

Selection: Really nice beer selection. There was a ton of Lawson’s on the menu because of the Lawson’s anniversary but I looked at the menu on their website a few times and it’s always stellar.

Food: Burgers are really tasty. The cooking on wood-fire definitely add a nice touch. Everything from the bacon to the cheese and the lettuce was fresh and delicious. I like the option that you can design your own burger.

Value: Prices for both food and beer are really good considering quality.

Overall: A place I will visit anytime I’m the area. Good food, good beers, good ambiance... love that place!
