78 Eclectic little beer bar in the hood. Nice tap selection. Decent bottle selection. A little slow, but still groovy. |
78 I liked this place. Good craft beer on tap, a lot of interesting college people, small, but cozy inside and the outside seating area was great. When in Tallahassee, I’ll absolutly stop in. |
82 Very low-key place in Tallahassee, and hard to find, but once I found it, it seemed like a great place to lounge. That’s exactly what it is- a lounge. A cool place to drink a few cool beers with some friends. There are all manner of strange people wandering through, but a nice selection of beers and a few house beers meander through from time to time. Definitely worth checking out. |
88 Great spot. Very cool atmosphere and super service. I would frequent this place a lot if I lived close. |
78 Good little beer bar with a nice selection of bottles and a few rotating taps. Staff knows their stuff and is willing and eager to help you select from the list of brews. Ambiance is a little bourgeois-hipster; it is frequented by FSU grad students, beer geeks, and hipsters. Small and narrow, it is located in the bottom floor of a line of condos. Food is soft baked pretzels and cheese plates, which pair well with the beers, but not anything more than a snack. Good place to check out for the beer aficionado in Tallahassee. |
66 One of the few craft beer bars in Tallahassee, "Ferm" as it is known is located underneath, or more aptly, inside the bottle floor of a small apartment complex on the very small, three block long road of All Saints in a not so well lit neighborhood. Ferm prides itself on being super hippie/trendy...so much so that I would recommend they not have a sign out front and only update their tap list on twitter. Tap list is small...perhaps 10 taps at the most with relatively quick rotation. When I was there not a single Florida beer was on tap.....and instead Rogue and Abita and Lost Coast. Not top of the line stuff in my book. They also brew their own beers, but they make them in essentially homebrew size conical fermentation vessels so they make 5 gallon batches, which is could for maybe 48 pints of beer. So once it gets put on tap, their house beer lasts about 1 hour. So good luck getting to try their own beer. On the plus side, they do offer wine for non beer drinkers and actually mead. They will do mead flights and beer flights, which is nice if you don’t know what to order. They did have on tap a pretty fresh keg of Victory Harvest Pils, which I’m not sure how they accomplished this, but I was quite impressed. Definitely the best thing on the menu by two standard deviations. A sort of sausage and cheese snack plate is for sale but I did not try it. This place DOES NOT HAVE A KITCHEN so don’t come looking for food. Atmosphere during the day is calm and chill. During the night it is a quirky, hipster hangout. Service somehow improved when it was very busy- extremely easy to get a beer. Not too loud, people playing boardgames, and being all around nerdy. Cool place no doubt. You can sit out front on the porch and drink during all operating hours. N.B. They will add a scoop of ice cream to stouts and porters if you ask for $1. I highly recommend this. |
54 Did it ever happen to you in high school that you walked into a not so good friends aunts house for a party and everyone turned and stared at you when you walked in? Thats kinda this place. Decent selection bottles and taps, but never expect to see them poor your beer as taps are not visible (awkward). I hear pirate night is fun though. |
52 The first night I came to this place I was excited about it. Any craft beer joint will make me happy I have pretty low standards. But it did not end up being a goo experience. The place fills up with about 15 people inside and a bunch of people mill about outside. Prime drinking hours = long bathroom line for sure.I got there about an hour into this time and the bar was full. Niche crowd here. Can be a little awkward.10 taps with a nice craft selection. I was here with a party of people and the bartender was patient and answered our questions and gave suggestions etc. All of us took our beers outside and not but 5 minutes later a staff member followed me out and said that "if we didn’t tell our underage friends to go home that we would be asked to leave" I was shocked by this and whoever that was went back inside. I still don’t have an explanation for this but we finished out pints an left. All the people in my group are mid-20’s at least. It struck as odd more than anything needless to say wont be going back. |
64 Decent place located in an odd area below apartment/condos. Sometimes has a few things on tap that I cant find elsewhere. As others have noted it is very small inside. This aspect forces you to probably the greatest part of this establishment ... the outside seating. |
60 Very small and really not very welcoming of new patrons. A limited number of taps (10ish) but good selection for the size but typically not anything that you can’t find at other bars in town with craft beers. Staff could know more about the small number of beers on tap. Often very, very crowded to the point that you can barely talk or get service. |
