RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
Dr Dremos’ Tap House is a wacky place. Ambiance leans towards urban blight but they do have a good selection of draft beer. They always have a few house beers on tap, these house beers are brewed by Shenandoah Brewing, and they also always have Chimay Rouge on draft. It is also a good place to find some more obscure draft beer (Arrogant Bastard for one). The place tends to get smoky and overrun with drunkards on the weekends, but it is a worthwhile place if you are in the neighborhood and are looking for a good draft selection.

The air is smoke filled and yet you cannot smell the tobacco the air is so stagnant that the smoke has been inhaled and exhaled so many times as to filter out the odor, leaving behind only that queazy sense that you’re playing with your life by being here. The beer selection isn’t vast, but acceptable. The food is atrocious, and really, this bar has llittle to recommend it to anyone over the age of 23.

Very interesting place. Bar is mostly a mix of average younger people. Furnature is that of what you’d expect in some college apartment (lots of mis-matched couches). Beer selection is wonderful (Delerium Tremens on tap and not at a upscale place? Wonderful). House beers are better than their bottled equivalents from SBC. Bathroom is one stall, so the wait is forever, which was the only downside to my entire trip.

The perfect anti-chain. A pale shadow of it’s former life as Bardo, more emphasis on pool than beer, but still good in a lot of ways. Fresh air seating, AC if you want it, and good stuff on taps. The tap prices are all over the map though, so ask before you order or you might get a surprise, good or bad. We need more truly original bar spaces.

I t’s ok, seems to be a normal bar looking at the clientele, but one thing really stands out, there are no women. I had to wait in line for the men’s bathroom each time, that has never happened before. Now I know what women go through! Other than that, the tap beer selection was pretty good, Brooklyn ales, especially attractive. Service was a little rude and slow, as well.

An interesting place to say the least. They have stopped offering Beer Pong and Flip Cup. Lots of different taps. Summer time is the best time to go, with the indoor and outdoor bar open. Great place in the heart of Arlington!

I really liked the atmosphere here--it is SO nice, especially in a city of chains (Rock Bottom, John Harvard’s, local chain Capitol City--all polished metal and the like), to see some originality. Convenient to the Metro. I didn’t eat, but the food on the plate next to me was pretty poor and the woman verbalized her disappointment. Overall good selection; but the Dr. Dremo’s beer (Shenandoah), only 3 of 6 were available--the bartending woman told me on weekend’s they’re required to give a certain number of taps to Bud, etc., so the Dremos Porter and Barleywine were taken off! That’s sad. She was flexible in giving me half pints at my request.

A beer bar and a dive bar all wrapped up in one handy package. Avoid the house beers unless you like mediocrity. Otherwise, there’s something for every taste. Great place to shoot pool, toss darts, or watch messed up movies. Very Bohemian, straight-laced drinkers need not apply. Service is ok, and the food ain’t much better than the Taco Bell about a block away.
