| taffurs888 (10), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | July 12, 2008 Stopped by on a lovely Saturday of hot July weather. Picked up a weizen glass, and growlers of the hefe, stout, and apa. Good stuff. Service was a little strange as the young dude running the place at the time seemed, well clueless. Spoke with one of the brewers, hope you enjoyed the Bear Republic!! | vadavid (9), Fredericksburg, Virginia does not count - explanation | | January 31, 2008 The brewery has four regular beers available and typically also has a seasonal or two going. The Falmouth Pale Ale (formerly James River PA) and Stonewall Stout are favorites. The Fred Red is the one you’ll see at restaurants around town usually. They don’t distribute beyond Fredericksburg, Richmond and NOVA. Scheduled tours and tastings are Saturdays. The place is small, you can see most of it from the front door. Jeff is very friendly and you can get a taste of the beers pretty much anytime. Be sure to check their website as hours change and some beers go temporarily unavailable at times. Good beer and worth a stop if you are passing through F’burg. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | October 1, 2006 B&G is nestled away in an older industrial area. The owners were kind enough to let me visit outside their normal business hours. I was greeted by one of their sales guys who looked 12 but insisted he was 21. He had learned the products pretty well and was able to get all his facts straight. They have their four regular beers on tap for samples, and sell them in 22 oz bombers or by the growler. They also had two seasonals available in bottles for me to take home. Their Pale Ale is pretty good. Definitely worth a visit not far from I-95. |
