| The_Beer_God (88), Newport News, Virginia | | April 20, 2007 Went here and met up with my wife and her friends for one of their birthday gatherings. They have some kind of "deal" where you drink 30 of the beers on tap and get "something" free, I think. My wife and her friend’s are trying this, but I’m not wasting my time. Decent selection for the area, but again, no draw for the real beer geek. The food’s typical pub grub, the service wasn’t bad (there’s some hotty’s here too, if that’s your thing), they show all the NFL games and even put up a map based on who you want to watch, plus now they show UFC PPV’s. Decent place to go, I guess. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | January 6, 2007 [ Updated January 14, 2007 ] Invited here for dinner by friends, I was surprised to find this place had 38 taps. Ok, mostly they had the usual suspects, but they also had some reasonable imports (Newcastle, Smithwicks) and a favorite local or two (St George). Our waitress was over-the-top friendly and Johnny on the spot. OK, so I had to tell her how to pronounce Smithwicks ("No, it’s not Smith Wicks, it’s "Smit-icks"), but she was awesome. Food was very good too, if standard bar food. Big TVs. Loud music. But fun. |
