They won’t let you break sixers and they’re not particularly helpful. They do have lots of singles, parking is ample and prices are reasonable. Nothing super rare, but you should find something interesting.

This was the first Total Wine i’ve been too, and I LOVED it. It’s great to go into those specialty shops and find that truly ’rare’ beer, but i get equal excitement from finding beers i haven’t yet tried from some of my favorite ’macro’ microbreweries like Troegs, Tommyknocker, Victory, etc. I left with over a dozen beers that I have been trying to track down over the past year. They also seem to get seasonal releases earlier than other stores in richmond. Service seemed to be a little lacking, but after a few requests, they did break down several six-packs for me.

I’ve been there twice over the last year when I’ve been in town visiting friends. Average selection, and just about the same amount as most of the rest of the Total Wine’s I’ve been to (except the Springfield, Va location - which is still quite large even after the move). A few more "rare"-widely distributed brews (as in less common big micro brewery beers that are harder to find) there, and a few that I haven’t been able to find for a few months in the rest of the state were hidden there.

Huge selection of craft beer here. Very reasonable prices, but you’ll only find the occasional rare beer here. Staff hare somewhat knowledgable but this is primarily a wine store. Kegs are available here for several craft beers too.
