Very busy when i went. Business professional feel. Tasty beers. I was in a real hurry so the bartender gave me a sampler platter of 3 beers and didn’t even charge me. I would definately go back to get the full experience

Ate here on a Saturday afternoon with the wife on a mini-vacation. Nice upscale casual atmosphere. I had the sampler followed by a couple of pints with the food, all beers were quite solid German styles. We both had a seasonal sausage sampler. Sausages were very good, and the garlic smashed potatoes were excellent. Should note that GB makes most of their food from scratch as opposed to simply reheating in the kitchen, and you can tell the difference. Very good service as well. The manager let us know that one is scheduled to open up in Richmond very near our house, which I am quite psyched about. Recommended stop in this area.

Favorite place in VB. Favorite Seasonal is Festbier (Sep - Oct), Regular is Marzen. Also enjoy mix of Schwazbeir and Marzen for somewhat of Black and Tan. Enjoy the menu. Large hamburgers.. Chilean Seabass is awesome, so is Halibut Oscar.

Excellent food. You must try the ribeye its to die for. Brews are decent and very good for this area.

Typical "upscale" trendy resturant. Nice classic atmosphere, though lighting might be lower than what some people might like. Crowed like nothing else, but only had a 25 or so minute wait which wasn’t too bad for a Saturday Night. Service was good, even though the waitress mixed up some of the beers on the sampler (to her credit she was dealing with 18 small glasses for our table). Simple switch with the hefe and czech. Food was pretty good, but deffinately was "city priced." Thought the Schwarzbier was the best of the bunch.

Had lunch here with my wife. Not too impressed. Seemed like I was underdressed even though we were the only folks in the place. Wifes brueshetta appetizer was way over garlic and nearly killed her lol. Food quality was average. Felt like a dress up Applebees. I wasn’t too impressed with the beers, my highest rated was a hefe and I hate wheat in my beer.

December 2006: Gordon Biersch Restaurant Group is one of those companies that is in grave danger of losing their coolness by over-expansion -- GB’s are popping up like cold sores in a sorority house. I loved them when there were only in a handful of places. But now they’re damn near like Applebees, cropping up all over the place. That said, I was not disappointed by their new Virginia Beach locale. The beers held up to the standard and the food was almost as good as I remember from my original GB experience almost 10 years ago. The service in Va Beach was the best I’ve ever had at at a Biersch, which is a definite positive. A bit far from home for me, but recommended for the guy with the beer DTs who might find himself in Va Beach. If you’re not familiar with Biersch, don’t expect any hoppy American ales here ... they’re German-styles all the way, but they’re well done. If you want hops, don’t be shy and try the Czech ...

I’m a fan of this place after finding it on a Thursday night. Atmosphere is typically brewpub, and it’s located right next to a pretty good Irish pub - Keagan’s (A fair amount of decent beers there too) downtown in a pretty cool area. The beers on tap were pretty good, all told. The only problem was that I don’t think they understand what a sampling of the beers is. The bartender poured me a small sampling of each of 6 beers on tap, but she poured so little that each glass had less than a sip each. On the plus side, after I asked for a bit more, at least they didn’t charge me for it. The beers are pretty good, and all but the Schwarzbier are over 5% abv. Plus, the Winter Bock will knock you out. Food was pretty good too, the garlic fries are excellent.

My first visit here with SmokeyKhan and px2grafx was awful - we ended up walking out after waiting almost an hour and a half for our entrees. Decided to reserve judgment until my second visit. Glad I did. Had dinner with my wife, and everything was excellent. We were seated promptly, service was prompt but not overbearing, and food was wonderful (we both had NY strip steaks). Wife has the Hefe and I had the Schwarzbier - both very good. We’ll be back quite a bit, I think.

Went here for my birthday. It was fairly non-crowded. We were sat quickly and ordered drinks right away. I had the Festbier and my wife had the Schwarzbier. We ordered a sampler plate for an appetizer and for dinner I had the salmon and the wife had the meatloaf. Large portions on everything and the quality was there. Waitress was attentive and speedy. Nice place!
