| JoeMcPhee (262), Jackson Heights, New York | | March 28, 2005 Strange little place. Had two taps when I was there, but seems to have room for 4. Food is a selection of sausage with various toppings. There are a few games around, but their opening hours are strange. Seems like a place where the brewer and his friends hang out. Beers were okay, but not great. There does seem to be a huge rotating selection of recipes though, so it might be worth checking out again. | | Oakes (422), gone rambling, Vietnam | | March 25, 2005 Despite its billing, Frank-n-Stein isn’t a brewpub in the technical sense of the term. Presently it is, however, the only outlet and tap room for Whatcom Brewery, located up the road. The space is small with a hodge-podge of decor. Dart board is good. Food is sausages, cooked on an electric grill, with very limited toppings. Given that they only do the one thing food-wise, I would have hoped that they would try harder. Toronto street carts clobber them. Beers are yeasty, a little green. |
