| AmEricanbrew (65), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana | | June 11, 2008 Nice quality selection considering the smallish beer aisle. Recently they had all four of Lees Harvest special cask aged beers in stock. Other Seattle area WF markets have larger beer departments. Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood. | | Enniskillen (60), Port Angeles, Washington | | March 11, 2008 Good beer selection. Good selection of PNW stuff which you don’t see at every beer store around the area. | derkruk (6), Seattle, Washington does not count - explanation | | September 11, 2006 [ Updated September 19, 2006 ] This Whole Foods in Seattle has a great selection of beer due to the hardworking efforts of Stauss and Matt, the beer department managers. Due to their limited shelf space, they don’t carry as much as they’d like. Still, they have a large selection of well-chosen local and national micros, and many imports including a good selection of Belgians. Import beer prices are competitive for the area, with some deals to be found (ask!). Additionally, they have their own line of organic beers made for them by the likes of North Coast Brewing. Check them out, especially if Bottleworks is already out of the hot new beer you’re looking for! | | OldMrCrow (31), Seattle, Washington | | September 9, 2006 [ Updated January 20, 2008 ] If we didn’t have places like Bottleworks and Uber in town, this would be huge boon. Even with them in town, it still rocks having a local grocery store with a beer selection that would make most states cry with envy. The beer buyer, Joel, is a great guy, and really knows his stuff. I’ve received differing reports on which it is or is not policy to break up sixpacks, but I’m usually allowed to do so.
| | after4ever (103), Brier, Washington | | August 4, 2006 Super high prices, but on a borderline-enormous selection. Parking’s a hassle almost all the time. Awesome selection of high-end groceries to go with the fairly inspired wall of beer. | belleofthebeer (8), does not count - explanation | | March 29, 2005 [ Updated April 16, 2006 ] Hard working folks, sometimes you have to hunt for them (they might be working in the wine department), but where else can you get rare beers and a dry-aged steak to go with? |
