Pleasant, friendly backstreet local in the Upper Stoke area of Coventry. A two-roomed pub, it offers a public bar and a comfortable, much smarter lounge bar in which I sat to sup my pint of Cottage XK120, one of up to six constantly changing real ales from a SIBA selection. The service was friendly and staff seemed knowledgeable about their beer. Food service was prompt and the portions seemed reasonable for their cheap prices. Alongside two pool tables in the public bar, the Rose & Woodbine offers a dartboard in each room. Pub regularly featured in Camra’s Good Beer Guide, and it is well worth the effort of finding.
