66 Popped in on the way to Broadway on a quiet Saturday afternoon.
Parking a nightmare but popped in for a quick dash through the range.
Brandy Cask beers were well kept, as were the guests. Service quick. Nice old pub and lots of space.
Don’t see the beers often so if you’re around pop in and try them. Might also pick up an odd guest too! |
54 Just 3 brews, but of outstanding quality & big taste. |
70 Me, my mum & Keith visited here on Saturday 5th April 2014. Today was something of a nostalgia, a sort of recreating my past type day. Earlier I had visited the Fleece Inn at Bretforton after a twenty ’ish’ year gap and likewise here I am at The Brandy Cask having left a similar lengthy timescale between visits. The Brandy Cask sits on the Evesham - Worcester road through town at the Bridge Street river side of town, but still close to the centre. As you enter the bar is straight in front with rooms branching off to the left and right. I noticed an old Hunt Edmunds beer tray proudly on display above the bar an got into conversation with the very chatty landlord who had lived in Bicester and Bodicote (opp Plough) before moving here and taking this pub on, though originally he was from SE London. The three beers brewed on the premises were all very well kept and whilst very traditional in style and flavour were all very good. This place had a few locals and the clientele seemed to be weighted slightly to an older demographic on this visit. The food seemed popular and looked good, I never ventured out back but I understand the garden goes down to the river. I liked this place my only criticism was that it was carpeted throughout. It would have looked much better with wooden or flagged floors. |
70 Visited 27 May 2011. Good pub in the market town of Pershore. The three Brandy Cask beers were enjoyable and there were also two guests (from Dark Star and Milestone) on offer. Service was friendly and the food good quality with decent portions. The pub’s garden is a real stand out - it’s huge, well manicured and runs down to the banks of the River Avon. Excellent all round. |
66 Visited in May 2009 on the way to Worcester. Pleasant enough boozer in the small town of Pershore. Wouldn’t really merit a second glance but for the Brandy Cask beers brewed on the premises. There are usually 4 of their own beers available (plus the usual keg suspects) that don’t change very often and are very tough to find anywhere else. So, if you want to try them you have little option but to visit. Bear in mind that the pub is closed from 1430 (or 1500) to 1900 every day. Beers are decent enough traditional UK styles. |
