“Large boxy modern industrial suburban place with two large parking lots and some street parking. Very open and airy, two tens set up outside plus a beerhall sort of thing. Big L-shaped bar with a serving area and long lines. A dozen beers on tap, mostly hazy IPAs, but they also had a tasty foeder rice lager and a fruited gose. Although some of their beers describe "our coolship," after quizzing the staff until they were starting to babble, my guess is that they mean Speciation's coolship, since both their bottled kriek and framboise are described as collaborations. At $36 per bottle I wasn't tempted to find out any more. Drafts were also pricey at $7+. You can see the entire brewhouse behind the bar. Service was fine, mostly student types. C reative Korean style food was pretty good. Worth considering.“

“Not sure why this is on rate beer. Really nice restaurant, some nice craft handles, good wine selection but not a beer location.“

“Awesome brewpub just outside of downtown Ann Arbor. It is close to highway I- 94 and our hotel was in close walking distance. There is outdoor and indoor seating. Open airflow place. Some TVs showing sports. You order at the bar. Beers were awesome. Their main styles are IPAs and fruited/sour beers but all were awesome. IIPA (Laser Light Show) was the best but all solid above average beers. They do trend towards higher grav. Food menu is Korean inspired and awesome. I had the beet salad and tuna poke bowl - both delicious. Definitely a solid place to hit up.“

“This is the place that replaced Glassdoor brewing. The spot is similar but they upgraded the patio with some heated seating which is nice for the colder months. Service is solid. 12 taps available with flights of 4 and 6 as options. Beers could be cleaner. Prices were on the cheap side which was nice. I did not try the food on my visit.“

“Cute little place right downtown with street parking out front. Inviting, comfy interior with plenty of seating. They had 6 meads on tap when I visited, all session meads with forced carbonation. Flights available, priced per mead ($2.5-3 per 4 oz. pour). Unfortunately, the mead quality is quite poor, with all of them having a rather seltzery character, and almost no honey presence. Really lame stuff. Definitely not recommended for the product, though it is a nice place.“

“Diamond in a rough ... juicy ass IPAs and sours that are excellent. Glad I decided to try this out. Did not eat just tried every beer on tap and everyone was great. Only negative was 4 of 5 beers to go were sold out, but it was Thanksgiving week. On my list now to hit every time when visiting family in MI.“

“Very nice place. Several beers to choose from, but not a ton, all were at least pretty good (and most were better than that). Had the chickpea appetizer, which had a good flavor but just too much seasoning. The squash bao were great, though. Counter service, but there was never too much of a wait. A bit pricey. Certainly a place to revisit.“

“Came in for dinner and beer, when I visited only had 6 beers on tap- place is known for IPAs and sours. IMO the best of the bunch was a gose, followed by a hazy DIPA. Beers were solid. Food was good, nice place, another good place to drink beer in town, more beers available in bottles.“

“Visited after dinner on a Thursday. Parking is on the street, don’t believe there is a lot available. Store is on a corner, mostly focused on craft beer. Draft beer up front (32 and 64 oz growlers), with racks of beers in the middle, and coolers in the back. Broad selection of singles, with many locals I hadn’t seen elsewhere, and some rare global beers around. Service was great, asked what I was in the mood for, rather than the typical “what beers do you normally like”. Good vibe to the shop. (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time) I only use the total score, not the component parts. Beer list on line at https://bfa2.com/growler-fill-draft-list“

“Visited for dinner and beers on a Thursday. Older building located right on the main strip of Ann Arbor. I parked in the ramp behind the building, though street parking is also a possibility. Inside is a beautiful old wood bar with seating in a neat front room and booths in the back. There was also an upper level that was closed for a private party the night I visited. 9 Jolly Pumpkin and 6 North Peak beers on draft available as full, taster, pitcher and growler pours. Bottles and cans are available to go. Food and service at the bar were both great. I really enjoyed my visit. (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors) I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Great atmosphere in this popular downtown 2A pub. I enjoyed a couple glasses of their 35th anniversary imperial stout brewed by Bell’s Brewery with a charcuterie plate....highly recommended. One tip: the bartenders ignored me on two separate visits, but I was immediately served when I was seated at a table.“

“A standard grocery store but a good size selection. I did not interact with the staff specific to beer on my visit. I haven't seen Drie Fontenien on the shelf in years, so I was impressed by the selection. A nice singles section two! Prices seemed a touch high but worth it for the selection. Maybe the best beer store in A2?“

“A smallish taproom near a few other breweries. A bit of a chic industrial feel to the place with some picnic seating and a side room with additional seating. Service was fine but didn't really as questions. They had around 10 different taps available. No food on site. Prices seemed fine.“

“Wolverine has clearly established itself (at least in my mind) as the best lager brewer in the state. The pub is cool with good grub and a really great place to spend time with friends. The beers are excellent and the best beers they brew are competitive on a national level. If you are visiting from out of town looking for the best local brewed beer after Jolly Pumpkin (if you like sours) head here.“

“Another solid multi tap in Ann Arbor, they usually have a nice selection of local Ann Arbor beers, beers from around the state as well as national craft beers and a few nice internationals. Good tap list in general. You order food at a window and sit in long tables they bring the food out- it’s a good place to eat. Nice casual place to have a few. If you sit at the bar you can order food from there.“

“This is a nice place near the University where parking would be difficult. The food was expecting some and looked great. Tastersandflighta available, as well as full pours. Standard beers here and five or so that are less common. nice interior with wood, dark, and probably best during the winter.“

Meijer (Grocery Store)

“It's a Meijer. If you've ever been in a gigantic grocery-general merchandise store, you know what it's like. The difference here is that the people in the beer section go out of their way to show you what's new, and we came away with some nice finds. Super fresh Old Nation hazy IPAs, for one. The prices are right where they should be. So yeah...Meijer. If you're in Ann Arbor and looking for something that might not be at a specialty store because it sold quickly, or if you're looking for fresh hops, give it a shot.“

“Wolverine State is tucked behind a couple other businesses on West Stadium Blvd. on the outskirts of Ann Arbor. The main room has a long bar and big chalkboard menu in the back, with a lot of tables throughout the place. Doors to the brewing operation are behind the bar. They had about 14 things on tap when we visited, all lagers, in keeping with their mission. The beer is decent, but a lot of them run together and don't stand out. They had bottles of the Barrel Aged Wolverine Massacre available, as well. The food was good; I got a heaping plate of nachos. The bartender was good, but pretty douchey. Prices are good. Worth a stop if you're in the area and have some time.“

“HOMES is near the outer belt of Ann Arbor, close to Zingerman's Roadhouse. The brewery is modern and has a really cool overall vibe. There's a patio in front (well, back, because the entrance faces away from the main street it's on), and all ordering is done in the bar area, with a dining room off to the side. Nice merch section, too. Prices are fair. The beer is good. They do fairly regularly hazy IPA can releases, and that style is well represented on the menu. The food is good, too. Asian fusion or whatever you want to call it. Definitely worth visiting if you're in Ann Arbor for any amount of time.“

“New in town and surprised when I joined that this place isn't listed! Been here twice. Incredible tap selection, great food, solidly competent service both at the bar and table. Would've given a higher rating but the prices seem a tiny bit on the high side. Pretty amazing space, and you can tell someone's staying on top of the keg room - they have a window on it!“

“A cool new brewpub on the westside of Ann Arbor with a contemporary vibe. Two rooms, one with the bar and the other for seating. A few TVs that are noninvasive. There were 12 beers available with flights as an option. A Korean style menu that is quite solid. Prices are consistent with the area. Really excited to have this place in Ann Arbor.“

“Enjoyable brewery with a relaxed vibe and good food. The pulled pork nachos are a must. I enjoy their beer and admire their dedication to lagers. I do think it holds back their flavours a little sometimes and some beers could be a little more robust, but overall their beer is solid.“

“Good number of beers on draft. I wish there was more of the Jolly Pumpkin versus the North Peak beers. Pizza was good, but my waiter was on his way out and wasn’t very attentive and asked for us to cash out immediately after getting food, despite not being ready to leave.“

“New place west of Ann Arbor, really big 6000 Sq Feet, outside seating for warm weather. High unfinished ceiling big open space, you know the look.. Has a Bar, an area with some larger chairs, some big beer hall style tables other smaller tables. Lots of big screen TVS. Nice tap list lots of sours and IPAs.Had a nice mix of stouts strong ales and internationals as well. Food is pretty good, pizza salads burgers. Service was good. Nice place to have a few- the outside in warm weather will be nice, selection had lots of good choices from locals to internationals. Pricing reflects not being downtown.“

“A pretty typical Irish pub feel to the place. Not a bad place to catch a soccer game. However, the beer selection is mediocre especially considering some of the other spots with a mile. Food is standard Irish pub fare as well. Service is not craft beer oriented. Prices are inline with downtown Ann Arbor. Not really a craft beer destination.“

“Best beer selection in Ann Arbor and it really isn’t close. Rare kegs that no one else gets. Great patio. Gets crowded on nice nights. Knowledgeable staff. Only food is truffle popcorn, which is great. If you want a meal, you can bring food in from any local restaurant and they have menus.“

“As we didn’t have time to go out to the newer brewery/taproom in Dexter...and never having been to this original location...we stopped here after a visit to Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. This is an especially cool old bar with a lot of character. I love the custom customer mugs hanging from the ceiling. The were a number of standards as well as specials when we visited this past Friday. The Bam Noire is probably the finest of their standards in my opinion...and the Diabolical is close behind. The scene stealer though was the limited addition La Vida. This is a must stop for sour fans...they also have some really nice crossover and introductory sours. I look forward to getting to the brewery on my next visit to the area.“

“Stopped in here just for some beer. Pretty decent selection comparable to a Whole Foods. Nothing too special, but a little bit of a different selection from other supermarkets. Didn’t really spend a lot of time here, so I can’t really say what it’s like other than the beer selection. Getting a discount on six month old Third Coast Old Ale isn’t a bad thing, though.“

“Insanely packed on a Saturday night. Even more so than the other downtown places. Did not try the food. Bartenders did as well as you can expect considering the business. “Busy on a Saturday night. Parking looked tough but I can’t comment for sure as I didn’t drive here. Smallish interior, but decent sized bar. Intense smokey smell in the place was nice enough but made it hard to smell the beers. Surly bartender. Beers ranged from average to very good. Flight of 7 was about 8.50. Decent enough stop but focus on other places if you’re short on time.“

“Visited Nov-2011. Visited on a very busy Saturday night in November, this place must be absolutely rammed on a game night or during Frosh week. Funk country rock music blaring over speakers, wooden booths carved with students’ comments and sharpie pics. The downstairs underground is quieter but also has a couple televisions -- all of the TVs in the house are tuned into the football game. Amazing tap list upstairs, pretty good downstairs. Worth the wait for a table! Quick friendly service. Didn’t try any food but the variety looks pretty good -- pub bites, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and even specialty fries. Would return for the beer list. (5/8/13/NA/8/16) 84“

“Visited Nov-2011. Two levels of wooden decor, college football game behind the bar, and cool artwork on the walls. Knowledgeable friendly waitstaff gave an interesting overview of the beers when he brought out the sampler. We ate a deliciously amazing South Pacific pizza and a tasty Porchetta sandwich - my favourite part of not being able to finish the pizza was the thought of having it as a midnight snack. 20 or more delicious beers available on tap and bottled, ready to go. Pretty awesome ambiance too with some of the locals cheering for the Wolverines. I would return in a heartbeat if we were near the city again. (5/9/13/9/8/17) 88“
