72 /100 VILOVÁ 4 - PETRŽALKA 5 min walk from the main train station.
And for some strange reason. The main train station is not in the heart of the city. As they usually are.
But it is not far away either.
Lovely small pub/brewery with a fine tap and bottle selection.
Helpful and friendly service. I even got a guided tour. In a language I do not understand…
Nice tasty beer. That is what we want!

96 /100 HERLIANSKA 135/15 Prijemny dostatocne velky podnik pivovaru general so 4 pivami z inych pivovarov. Maju aj nico na zahryznutie |
66 /100 DREVENÁ 575/8 Easy to find in the city centre.
Quite big and spacious place. Restaurant ish with a lot of dark wood.
Ok beer selection. Fine ambiance and good service
|
60 /100 NÁMESTIE SNP, 30 Easy to find in the city centre.
Quite big and spacious place. More a restaurant
Normally only a couple of their own on tap
|
60 /100 NÁMESTIE SNP 484/25 Easy to find in the city centre.
Quite nice entrance. The brewing equipment is at the same place as the bar
The sitting area looks like a cheap burger joint
Some of the beer do contain a bit to much butter. I like butter on the bread. Not in my beer.
Solid music selection! I would not mind going here again
|
72 /100 MICKIEWICZOVA 2242/1 The brewery-restaurant of Komín. The place in the city-center is really nice, but there is too few staff. There is only one waitress for the whole huge place and the food needs a lot of time to come.
Beer is great and the place is also nice, but it needs improvement. |
Ceny velmi dobre. |
82 /100 Žil Verne (Bar) PANSKÁ 13 Great little bar, with 20 craft taps. They will do taster flight!!! That was super awesome. The selection was great and service was also great. A must hit for sure. |
82 /100 100 pív (Bar) MEDENÁ 33 Wow what a great little place. Small but backed full of craft beer options. Nice tap list with big and short pours. The selection for togo was great. Nice collection of 3F, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I will stop in again forsure. |
72 /100 DREVENÁ 575/8 My first stop in Slovakia. Big open space with a nice size bar in the middle. Wait staff was very friendly. Food looked good, pretty large menu. I didn't eat. Beer was pretty good. |
82 /100 Žil Verne (Bar) PANSKÁ 13 Tiny bar with an excellent selection of Eastern European craft beers. 20 taps. |
68 /100 Pivný Raj - Mlynske Nivy (Beer Store) MLYNSKE NIVY 6 Visited in July 2023. Smallish beer store with a large selection.
The local selection is, while quite large mostly limited to the same breweries that are available elsewhere. Friendly service. |
72 /100 Damian Bar - Rozadol (Bar) TRENČIANSKA 56/F Out in the burbs, but public transport here's pretty darn good, so that's not a problem. Quiet cafe-like feel, but definitely beer themed. Impressive taplist - 20 taps on, and several large beer fridges. 200ml pours available for some beers, but only 300ml for others. Snack cold food available, even close to closing time - the potted liver pate was glorious. Staff was lovely, real service with a smile. Bratislava's a great town for beer, and this is a great bar that's definitely an important part of that scene. One of the "must visit" venues, I'd say. Take care with their short hours, though. |
72 /100 100 pív (Bar) MEDENÁ 33 What a wonderful little shop-cum-cafe! I particularly like the rustic almost-wonky-looking wooden shelves. And I do mean "little" - it's so incredibly cozy, I even had to leave my ego outside! Great selection of beers, both local and international, including some bottles of very high repute. 200ml pours are more ticker friendly than many places in town, and Marduk and I were sharing, so were perfect. The tap selection was a bit crafty, but it is a craft beer bar and craft beer brewers keep brewing craft beer, so no real shock. Plastic payment permitted. Staff member was great, he knew his beers, and seemed to enjoy a nice little chin-wag with beer nerds like Anna (who I think had been here before). Another great place on the Bratislava beer map, this would be one I would come back to time and time again. |
64 /100 Žil Verne (Bar) PANSKÁ 13 Tiny little place in a fairly central location. Lovely Jules Verne round-the-world murals and book covers all over the place, just great. 80s synth and art pop videos playing on the telly in the corner. I'm sure we heard Alphaville's /Big in Japan/ for the 8th and 9th time this trip here. 20 taps, and even more bottles, and sampler flights in sets of 8 or 12. Quality ranged from craft to very craft, but some weren't bad. If you're ticking, this is a must-visit venue. Staff were friendly. |
56 /100 NÁMESTIE SNP 484/25 Just on a corner of a market building on a square, pretty easy to find. FVs in full display, but the environment wasn't the most appealing, having that edgy mix of sterile and unsterile. I think I sang along to every song playing while I was here - classic rock/metal - DP, Ozzy, BS, PF, Cream, GM, Rainbow, Pantera, ... - I think every base was touched apart from Hendrix. Nominally has 7 taps, but only 5 were active. Quality was varied, the wheat was pleasant enough, the cider was terrific, but the lager was boiled cabbage. 300ml pours. Staff were friendly. Worth popping in, certainly. |
60 /100 NÁMESTIE SNP, 30 Lovely traditional foodery, spacious inside, and with plenty of terrace space too. We ate - good hearty local specialities, I even braved the tripe and didn't really regret it as the broth was so good. Even better were the beers - they have an utterly delicious svetly. Staff were friendly and efficient, spoke good English, and even repeated our order back to us to make sure no mistakes were made. The only negative would be the fact that you can't split the bill. Come here for quality rather than ticks, but of course, I want to try their other beers too. |
60 /100 Za rohom by Bombovar (Bar) TOBRUCKÁ 1 This is a hard one to rate as my memory of it is scant. It was a very busy trip (100+ new venues), and this really hasn't stood out at all. The thing I remember most about it was its eye-catching front. Not that it was not pretty inside. Was very popular, practically throbbing with life. 6 taps, several ticks, and a fridge with various local-ish cans and bottles (Croatia and Czechia spotted in photos). Not all craft, some actually good! Anyway, beers were drunk, and by the time we left, so was I. Does its job. Good enough for me to want to go back the next day (*wink*). |
56 /100 Beerdock Bratislava (Bar) FAJNOROVO NÁBREŽIE 2 Back on the north side of the river, and with a nice view over it. Strange bright neon cafe interior, but the terrace is where you should be sitting anyway. Had some OK craft brews, I never mind having a Sibeeria, for example; a good hit rate for ticks for us. Staff were friendly, and happy to supply ice cubes to those who engage in extreme exploration. Seems like an OK place, not sure how often they rotate beers, so it's hard to judge if it's ticker friendly. |
38 /100 Mýtny Domček (Restaurant) TYRŠOVO NÁBREŽIE Easy to get to, very near the no. 80 tram line, and easy to find as it's right next to a rather funky geodesic bike wheel sculpture, but I'm not sure that's good enough reason to actually go there. Did have ticks, that's undeniable, but they ranged between macro, poor, and off. Staff coped with dumb foreign tickers adequately. The environment wasn't bad, it seems more like a cafe with its white tables, metal chairs, and ceramic beer "mats", it was the crap beers in big pours that brought the place down. Probably scroll past this one. |
46 /100 TYRŠOVO NÁBREŽIE Yes, technically it's a brewpub on a barge on the Danube. Sounds magical, no? Alas, it's more "no" than "magical". The Danube's just a river. A barge is just a barge. And a brewpub is mostly just a row of FVs. Staff were not exactly unhelpful, but spent more time looking in the mirror and into each other's eyes than they did seeing if customers needed to be served. 4 house beers available, 3 regulars and a seasonal special, mliko available for the light one. Beers were fine, available in 300ml pours. Touristy prices, but still cheap compared to what I'm used to. |
56 /100 Clock - Block (Bar) ZADUNAJSKÁ CESTA 12 Trendy craft bar south of the river, the same general suburb as Pivovar Hops, but take a local with you if you want to walk between the two venues - the parks make it confusing. However, it's near the Einsteinova number 80 bus stop, so not too hard to find overall. I do like the clock theme, to be honest, even if they were all showing the wrong time; I had hoped for some Clock beers to be available, but alas no. Several different localish craft breweries were represented, though. Watch out for the order of the beers on the over-head beer menu - they aren't in numerical order. Alas they didn't do flights. Staff were young, lively, and friendly; good English spoken. Marduk did food - it looked decent, but wasn't as cheap as a lot of what we'd seen around town. Worthwhile venue when in town. |
58 /100 VILOVÁ 4 - PETRŽALKA Out in the suburbs south of the river, but definitely worth the trip as the no. 80 bus line passes reasonably close (3 blocks' walk from each of 3 bus stops, it kinda loops round this location). Spacious environs inside, with a stretched-out terrace around the outside - it was cooler inside on that blazing hot day. The odd-can corner is a nice addition, apparently the local collectors use this place for show-and-tell and trading. 4 of their 6 taps were active, and the quality was variable - the best stuff was tip-top. Taster tray available at a very reasonable price (we bought two, no need for Danish ticks on a day when fluids are so in demand) 1L plastics to take away too. Staff were friendly. |
46 /100 DREVENÁ 575/8 Clean but maybe sterile brewpub, clearly focussing on food, but a bit trashy with the doof-doof music. Staff were efficient. Has only 4 beers, some a bit too crafty, and the house taste was too minerally for me. Perhaps a completist's venue. |
64 /100 Mešuge Craft Beer Pub (Bar) VYSOKÁ 15 Nice pub pub, no airs and graces here. Big garden out back, that's where we sat - great on a summer day. Good pub food, but not just burgers on the menu, we shared some goats cheese dumplings, and they were excellent. Beer selection was varied, 10 taps, some Czech, some local. No samplers, so we limited ourselves to just the three. Staff were friendly, and very much on top of things, brought out extra plates for the sharing of the food without us even asking. Recommended. |
66 /100 ŠTEFÁNIKOVÁ 4 Nice restaurant bar with lots of the brewkit visible behind glass - I think I counted 7 FVs. Food was good. Staff were polite and friendly. Flights available at a decent price, and the quality of the beers was tip-top. Highly recommended. |
72 /100 Feriba Pub (Bar) KLADNIANSKA 10, RUŽINOV Little pub outside of tourist tracks. Neighborhood bar, with all pros and cons. There are 6 or so taps with craft beer. I f you are in area, step in. |
68 /100 Kollarko (Bar) KOLLÁROVO NÁMESTIE Wonderfully central location, walkable from all the tourist areas. During the hottest July since records began, the well-shaded terrace was a boon - as were the cold beers. 12 taps, localish, fresh, and with a decent range of styles. Alas the pours were 400ml, and they don't take plastic either, but these are niggles you see in a lot of places. Staff were mostly pleasant, but a little bit cranky - apparently, when the sun's in the fifth quadrant and the tide is in perfect alignment, you're not allowed to order from the bar, and have to wait 15 minutes at your table instead, when there are only a couple of other customers in the bar. They have a really smart food idea - jars of picked sausage, and a vegetarian equivalent too, that they have in the fridge. Utterly delicious, and so convenient. We need this idea back home too. So good we went back the next day, and got new ticks. And it will be the first place I visit next time I get to Bratislava. |
92 /100 Damian Bar - Rozadol (Bar) TRENČIANSKA 56/F Hidden gem in Bratislava. Somewhat far away out of the center. There are no very good ways to get here, beside taking one of the buses and then walking few hundred meters.
But all of that trouble is well rewarded. About 20 taps of local and international stuff. Lots of The Garden Brewery beers on tap and in fridges.
We were happy to spend some time here and enjoy ourselves. Game liver pate was nice.
Staff was absolutely top notch too.
English spoken, card accepted. |
78 /100 100 pív (Bar) MEDENÁ 33 Tiny bar/shop type of place. 6 taps and 4 fridges full of beer. Quite packed on Saturday evening. They do not do flights, but they do smaller portions (0.2ml).
Card was accepted, English spoken.
Would come again. |
70 /100 Žil Verne (Bar) PANSKÁ 13 In the Old Town, small and bit smelly place. Jules Verne themed bar. 20 taps of various beers. They do flights for 15 euros, 100ml glasses x 8. I can't say all the beers were best of quality so I'm glad we did a flight here.
Staff friendly, English spoken, card accepted. Just to go through some silly ticks ok place to visit. Just for fun? Naah better skip it. |
82 /100 Medový obchod CERA MEL (Beer Store) MICHALSKÁ 12 It's a honey shop in old town. But they do sell their own meads and beer as well. Meads you can even drink on site from the kegs. Super friendly staff. Prices very reasonable.
Worth a visit. |
72 /100 NÁMESTIE SNP 484/25 Large place with classic Rock music playing. They are brewing on the site. 4 beers and 1 cider were available at the time. Cider being by far the best of 5.
No flights, but card accepted and English spoken. Worth a visit. |
62 /100 NÁMESTIE SNP, 30 Monastery brewery with 2 of their own beers on taps, which seems to rotate. At the time we visited classic Svetly and Tmave were on.
Card accepted, English spoken.
We did food here. Traditional soup, goulash and pork schnitzel, all were very good. |
66 /100 Za rohom by Bombovar (Bar) TOBRUCKÁ 1 We hit it as a last place on Saturday evening. Quite busy and buzzing. They do cocktails and those will take time. So getting your beers takes also time.
Small size place in upstairs, but they seem to have something going on in downstairs as well. Didn't go there, but I'm sure I heard pool ball noises.
Selection of taps. Card accepted, English spoken. |
74 /100 Beerdock Bratislava (Bar) FAJNOROVO NÁBREŽIE 2 Across the river from Dunajski brewery, but on the right side of the Old town. Looks to be in some sort of old Soviet type building. They have balcony/terrace with a nice view over the river.
Friendly staff. Good selection of beers, more crafty and international side.
Advice from a friend, if you are wondering around in the pub - mind your head or you will be minding bumps in your head later. |
58 /100 Mýtny Domček (Restaurant) TYRŠOVO NÁBREŽIE Not too far from Dunajsky ship brewery, 5 minutes walk max, on the side of the bridge, close to tram stop. If you are taking a tram you really can't miss it.
6 taps of local, Czech and German brewers. They seem to do food, but place didn't look very clean so I wouldn't trust them with that.
Beers were not at the best shape.
You can easily skip it, we didn't plan to go there, but we took it as an adventure and did. |
68 /100 TYRŠOVO NÁBREŽIE It's a brewery on a ship. No easy way to get here beside just plain walking. Or well you can take 1 tramstop over the bridge.
4 beers were available, 2 seasonals. They can serve beers as Mliko and Snyt too.
Card accepted and some English spoken. |
78 /100 Clock - Block (Bar) ZADUNAJSKÁ CESTA 12 You can take bus 80 to get here from Kollarko, few minutes ride only.
Cool looking place, tiny but cool. And hot, no proper cooling system or anything.
6 beers on tap, no flights. Card accepted and English spoken.
I managed to order torn pull from menu which was pulled beef between the two buns with local coleslaw variant. You can call it a burger. |
70 /100 VILOVÁ 4 - PETRŽALKA Easiest way to get here is to hop on a bus line 80 from near Kollarko pub. 12 minutes ride, 5 minutes walking and you are here. 4 beers were available. It was empty when we arrived on early Friday afternoon, but started to pile up as time passed and was quite buzzing when we left.
Cash only. |
68 /100 DREVENÁ 575/8 Large place, with small terrace on the edge of the old town. Only the first floor was open on our arrival, but you could have a peek to 2nd as well. 4 of their own beers on tap, 2 mains and 2 seasonal/experimental ones.
No flights. Little English spoken and card accepted.
Food aromas were good and portions looked like proper size, but we didn't eat here. |
70 /100 Mešuge Craft Beer Pub (Bar) VYSOKÁ 15 Bit worn out looking place, but with a nice service. They seem to have mostly Czech beers, with one or two exceptions. But they do have nice local food.
For local experience I can recommend it. |
80 /100 ŠTEFÁNIKOVÁ 4 Bit nordic, clean and sharp looking place. We sat next to the vessels to get extra feel of the place. They do flights. Good and quick service. English spoken. Card accepted.
I had beef broth soup with chicken and it was good. |
76 /100 Kollarko (Bar) KOLLÁROVO NÁMESTIE Bar on the edge of the old town or central area of the city. Was shirt bus ride from our hotel. Busy place with good selection of local and Czech beers on tap.
Cash only and no flights. English spoken. Would come back. |
76 /100 100 pív (Bar) MEDENÁ 33 2020 : Beershop slash bar, small but not crowded, comfy enough. Dedicated local punters. Solid selection of familiar faces like Mikkeller, Omnipollo & De Mollen. Half a dozen of taps including stuff like Hellstork. Decent prices. Place felt bit more like a locals place, bit award to be there but probably just my impression. Some lambiek stuff which must be not bad at for Bratislava selection-wise. Selection felt slightly veered towards hype / Untappd hype but nothing wrong here. Solid place. |
72 /100 Žil Verne (Bar) PANSKÁ 13 2020 : Right next to Be Unorthodox Craft Beer Bar. Selection here is more Slovakian craft vs. Unorthodox + foreign craft at Be Unorthodox. You can easily do both together. Some comfy limited seating inside, outside tables, pleasant place to sit outside. Friendly service & quick. Very touristic place, very nice tap selection of Slovakian beers but alas very high prices as well. The price thing makes it feel a bit like they are trying to cash in on tourists & expats. Given how some beers & breweries can be found elsewhere… |
80 /100 Clock - Block (Bar) ZADUNAJSKÁ CESTA 12 2020 : It took me quite some time to figure out where the entrance was or how to get inside this place even after spotting the closed of terrace from outside. Also located in an era what I don’t will be an obvious choice for a tourist. Cozy place that is also a restaurant. Half a dozen or so taps, their own beers and more classical Slovakian & Czech offerings. Their beer was okay, rest was fair. More classical styles with an occasional IPA thrown in. Fair service. Very good prices so worth checking out, it is not too far from across the bridge if you walk the right way. |
86 /100 Damian Bar - Rozadol (Bar) TRENČIANSKA 56/F 2020 Visit : My favourite place in Bratislava, located in the outskirts, entrance is in what looks like the inner parkour of large apartment buildings. Twenty taps of choice selections from their own gypsy brewery which had some original & tasty beer plus choice beers from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Croatia with emphasis on the first two. Good prices, very good selection. Large open feeling and large nice modern bar too sit, comfy with quite a bit of people but not crowded. Bottle selections including some nice BA stuff, lambiek (more common but still) & small but largely interesting bottles. Nothing too crazy or impressive but bound to have something appealing. Fridges where you can pick beer so sort of a beer store as well but really more of a bar. Only downside was the young guy serving me was way in over his head, forgetting orders, getting stress, taking forever with everything, struggling with register,… Real shame really, bit frustrating since everything took forever but hopefully a fluke, really lovely place. |
