“Seems like a Belgian-ish brown bar where mostly locals come. Tap list wasn't that interesting (mostly Belgian beers), but the bottle/can menu offered a number of servicable finds such as BAs from Bronckhorster, some Funky Fluid etc. Friendly table service.“

“Centrally located on the city square, a fairly narrow 'brown' café with a cozy interior and a tap list of about 14 beers. A mix of Belgian traditionals and Dutch craft. Solid bottle and can menu as well once you run out of new draft ticks. Shared kitchen with the adjacent "Warenhuis", meaning plenty of options for dinner as well. Friendly service, waiter inquired about my opinion about one of the beers I had ordered. Overall quite satisfactory.“

“Leuke zaak. De nieuwe eigenaar pakt het goed op. De winkel is mooi verbouwd, veel nieuwe soorten en een website. Ze geven aan op korte termijn proeverijen en tastings te gaan organiseren. Dat zou een hele mooie toevoeging zijn. Service is echt top.“

“Cozy brown bar with a very accomodating selection of beers. Interesting and inspired choices on tap when I visited, nice selection of cans and bottles once you're done with the relatively modest tap lineup. Got quite busy on a sunday evening with mostly non-beer geek locals hanging out, bit noisy but relaxing vibe.“

“Pretty small shop in old building. Nice selection of beers, mostly Dutch but also some good foreign beers. Some specials you will not easy find elsewhere. Friendly staff, decent prices. Not easy reachable for a quick visit. No parking at the shop, nearby parking garage Arena. Worth a visit now and then.“

“Visited on a hot summer day. Fortunately there was air conditioning inside, outside it was too hot. Many beers in the bottle and 10 on tap. We went for beer from Dutch micro brewers. Friendly staff and free wifi.“

“Op vrijdag 22 juni bezocht 2018. Typisch bruin café. Met diverse huisbieren van eigen Kolleke brouwerij. Goed aanbod van andere bieren waaronder zelfs zeldzame. Werkt ook elk seizoen met andere kaart.“

“Rather small but well-assorted bottle shop in the city centre. Looks very clean, neatly organized, very inviting. The selection is very interesting, lots of specials, seasonals and one-offs, mainly from the Netherlands. Some internationals are available as well, some gems can be found among those for sure. Locals from Boegbeeld, D'n Draok or Uthoka are there as well. Decent prices (for the Netherlands) and friendly service. Good addition to Den Bosch's beer shops, especially since it hardly sells the same beers as the Mitra.“

“We visited here on Wednesday 27th September 2017. It was a wonderful day and so we chose to sit at one of the outside tables. By the way it is a great spot for people watching, we sat looking at the comings and goings in the excellent bike shop across the road. Bar Le Duc is on Korenbrugstraat there are a number of cafes/bars along here including one we visited the previous day whose name I have briefly forgotten. It is located reasonably central and is easy to get to from either the market place/centre or railway station.

Having read the reviews below we chose to avoid trying one of their own beers instead opting for the safer guest list. We ate here and the food was very good (toasties). The staff were friendly enough and service was very good. It was a popular place with all ages. I only had a brief look inside and it looked very traditional 'Brown Café' style. I liked it here, however maybe that was because I sensibly opted to not try their own products.“

“We visited here on Wednesday 27th September 2017. If you are coming here from the centre of town make sure you cross the railway line via the wonderful bridge on Paleisbrug, it's like a garden bridge but it really is fab on descending the bridge turn right and the bar is here along with a small row of restaurants and other bars. It is all quite modern here including the bar which inside has a smart but quite industrial look about it. It is probably about 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of the town to gets here and at a guess 10 minutes walk from the railway station.

We sat outside and chose two of their own beers, I went for a strong beer Loz something more sensible. The weather was glorious and there were a number of others out here. Their own beers I found to be very good, I believe that they are brewed on site and they offer a range of styles. The service was swift and friendly and all in all it was a great place, ok it is off the beaten track but it appears to do food as well and I would have happily whiled away a couple of hours sat here. “

“We visited Tapperij Het Veulen on Monday 25th September 2017, clearly a reliable standby on a Monday as most of the other cafes were closed today, though to be fair the Thornbridge bar was an unexpected one day closure. Tapperij Het Veulen is located on the western side of the city centre on a small street called Korenbrugstraat that is essentially a row of Café bars about 5-6 in all, Tapperij Het Veulen is in the middle of these. It's a pretty quick walk from either the market place/centre or the train station which is slightly further west.

It would have been nice to have sat outside and people watched but all of the seats were taken so we went inside. Btw why on the continent do many folk do this thing of sitting in lines facing outwards, it makes me chuckle, it's like you're at the cinema. It's a fairly traditional layout, long and thin, toilets at far end bar taking up most of the LH side with seating at front and then running down the RH side. Wooden floors and in fact mostly wooden interior was the look with a lot of pub memorabilia, enamel signs, news cuttings, old photos etc.

The barman was very busy and singlehandedly kept everyone served until colleagues turned up, one of which who we chatted to as we left appeared to be the owner or manager. The beer choice leant heavily on the Belgian classics with one or two guest's on tap, so I guess to be expected for an ABT cafe. We quite liked it here but would have preferred to have sat outside.“

“Nice old fashioned bar, varied tap list with a few interesting choices, including a house beer. Usually quite busy, it is in a bit of a busy area of town.“

“Very idiosyncratic place close to the railway station. Loads of character, a lot of bric-a-brac all over the bar, and an eclectic beer choice. Not essential from a beer point of view, but different and interesting.“

“A strange but pretty big bar right by the station, it’s got a fairly run down charm and certainly seen better days but that gives it some character. There’s even carpet on the floor! I didn’t see what bottles they have (if they have any), but the Belhaven beers on tap was bizarre, and ticks! I wouldn’t travel to Den Bosch just to come here, but worth a stop off on the way to Thornbridge.“

“Pretty small bar in a popular going out area with a busy terrace outside of around the same size. Unfortunately the ambience was spoilt when we visited by a screeching hen party. A couple of fun ticks on the changing tap menu and bonus points for bringing my choice over for free as they couldn’t fill a whole glass at the end of the barrel. Bottle selection is heavily Belgian with a fair bit of Dutch thrown in. Nice enough little bar that would be nice to hang out in we’re it not for the hen party noise.“

“Old and worn brown café in what seems to be a busy café area of the city center, there’s also a decent sized but super busy terrace out front. A selection of their own beers on tap from their attached brewery, though as others have mentioned, they’re not very good.“

“Visited on a Sunday midday, the place was empty and I had to wait too before someone from the personel appeared. Really big interior with a pool table at the end of the room and a short tall bar with the bar stools having the right height for once. Big tables scattered around, some made of old barrels. The whole place seems like it is stuck in time with all the antiques hanging on the walls, but this has a certain appeal. They seem to have a big selection of whiskeys as well. I would visit again to sip on some bitters“

“ Visited after opening, most people were drinking coffee still. Small terrace outside with the tables being close to each other. I sat inside, two big tables in there, three standing ones and a long, cozy looking bar. Brown wood interior as expected with lots of beer paraphernalia hanging from the walls. 10 taps, 1 dedicated to Brand and another one for Guinness, while the remaining 8 are changing regularly. Two big fridges filled with mostly belgian beers. Good prices. Music was old rock hits.“

“Located in a dodgy part of town behind the station. Inside is an english pub aka hotel lobby. Old furniture, bit dirty, but spacious. Bar looks like an old hotel reception from Fawlty Towers. Not very busy, but all weird locals and "stamgasten". Service was friendly. Some British and Irish beers you wont find that often. Weird bar.“

“Located in the busy part of Den Bosch, just around the corner of some other beerpubs. Funny entrance with small stairs, but when you enter the cases of empty beer are still in the door opening. Dirty stone tiles on the floor and huge windows, if you put a red light inside, you think you are in the red light district. Service was friendly and funny, as she humiliated Benzai by thinking he was an Untappd guy. Beer selection is quite large, but lots of usual suspects. Tap was quite uninteresting at the time. Ok to visit if you are in the neighbourhood and like to taste some belgian styles.“

“Medium-sized bottle shop, located next to supermarkets twenty minutes away from central station by walking. Very beer-oriented Mitra with lots of Belgian classics covering all the typical beer styles plus a few more modern ones. The Dutch selection is quite untypical but also impressive with lots of smaller, more local breweries without too many of the usual suspects. I visited it in October so there were like 30 different bocks available. The assortment also contains a few German (old and new school), Spanish, British and US beers. Prices are fair, the staff is really relaxed and lets you brose through the beers on your own, occasionally offering you some help (good). Must-visit if you are in town.“

“Went there a couple of nights ago. Slipped in while waiting for a freind to arrive at the station around the corner. Nice selection of BENE beers, with 10 taps and roughly 70 bottles, laid out on an A4 sheet of paper. Lacked seasonal beers and focused on what was readily available. An unfussed place, perhaps a little bit stalenthough. I was there late afternoon so cannot really judge the vibe of the place. When l was there, the music was from the 70s and 80s, l guess as the name suggests. I didn’t eat here and didn’t search for a menu. You can definitely feel at home here.“

“I was there a couple of months ago. Small beer selection, all the way on the back while the front is reserved for wines and spirits. Well known beers and maybe a couple that are not so widely available. They have all the beers from ’t Kolleke that you can buy a block away, only more expensive. Prices are not their strong point actually, most of their beers are way up from the average (the big bottles at least). Service was exactly what I don’t like in a bottle shop and that is someone coming to tell me how special their beers are and try to help me choose one without me asking them. Anyway, the impression I got was that this a place to go and buy a gift for someone and even better let them choose something for you, way too fancy .“
