“Compact cosy pub off the High Street, very quiet when I called in but it was a Sunday. Three ales on, mostly of the generic kind but my beer was fine on the quality front. A real find in a town like Falkirk, would return at some point.“

“I’ve no idea why this was on a CAMRA ale trail when there are no casks. Beer selection was pretty uninspired, dead pony club and some generic lagers. Surprisingly busy.“

“Busy place just off the high street, only 3 casks - all Edinbrew at the time of visiting. Number of generic kegs available too.“

“I always struggle for what to say about Spoons as they’re all pretty similar. On this visit there were only a couple of cask beers available due to the cider festival, of which there were only 3 available. So selection wasn’t as good as some.“

“Centrally located spoons in Falkirk, the Carron Works is a bright and airy space compared to most spoons which is a welcome change. I visited on a Saturday whilst the place was packed with a largely youngish crowd, service held up well though. A number of Scottish micros were on offer, all in good nick. Not bad as Spoons go.“

“This pub backs onto the main road but its entrance is from the small street parallel to it’s south on the fringe of the town centre. Parking can be a bit of a problem around here. This is a cinema conversion and the single hall affair makes this a fairly grand and airy space to sit and drink in. The building creates most of the ambiance as the decor and furniture are rather ordinary and regular for the chain, but if you’re here mainly for the ales then this won’t matter with a selection over two rows of ale pumps along the long bar against the back wall. There’s no outdoor space here.“

“Large busy Wetherspoons. Looks like a converted cinema. Was there during one of the companies beer festivals. Quality of beers excellent and very attentive staff. Food as usual excellent quality and value for money.“

“Very traditional small pub located off the High Street in a shopping centre carpark. 4 taps (only 3 in operation while I was there) serving very well cared for high quality ales. No food available. Clientele mainly retired gentlemen giving the ambience of a Scottish version of the BBC TV show "Last of the Summer Wine"“

“Large pub with multiple bars opposite Grahamston railway station. Strong relationship with football. When Falkirk play at home the bar provides a free bus to and from the Stadium if you have a meal or drink in the bar. Sadly this bar has gone downhill. It used to provide fantastic quality meals but they are now at best just OK. Service is now poor. Even though the bar is quieter than it used to be there are not enough staff to cope. They were also not very knowledgeable or helpful. On the plus side the beers are interesting and well cared for.“
