“Visited Wednesday night. A local singer-songwriter was guitar playing country rock. Casual place, worm ambience, nice staff. You can grab food from resnext door and take it in. Long list of local taps, flights of 3 and small pours. Have some bottles to take away. Great place, would love to go back.“

“Nice pub atmosphere despite strip mall location. Impressive roster of brews on tap including several limited to the taproom. Proper glassware is used. A few TV's but non-invasive for some seating areas.“

“I like this place for a few reasons...1. Its a bottle shop close to my parents house when I visit. 2. The selection is typically pretty interesting. 3. Great selection of whiskey, some of which are a really well priced. Im not sure how Id feel about this place as a local. They do have a Growler fill up section in the back and currently doing some renovations. I like the small packed warehouse vibe but well see how it changes over the next year or so.“

“Good ambiance, great service. Restaurant two doors down with their brew, but the bar has a bigger selection. Bartenders were great, Paul gave us a nice tour of the brewing equipment. Lots of ticks here, so make the trip. Didn’t try the food.“

“Great beer selection. 20 or so beers brewed in-house. Each one is well-crafted. There is some food. Good crowd.“

“Attached to Jax, per the silly Forsyth beer regulations. Nice, functional area, with a clearly wine-centric tasting room. The employees were knowledgeable, quick, and very friendly. The prices are fantastic! On Fridays, $3 gets you a flight of 6, and the prices per ounce are the best I’ve seen. It’s a little out of the way for me, but I’ll definitely be back.“

“Great package store. Lot’s of options. They are pretty informed about their beer selection and try to get the newer stuff in. Always open to new suggestions. The growler shop next door is great too.“

“I’ve tasted most of their beers while at Tanners next door and where they have been selling their beer over the last couple years. I can say this unequivocally, ALL their beers are fantastic. From the Dubbel, to the Hefeweizen, and the IPA to the DECOS. All are great. Took my father there while he was visiting from Delaware, and he enjoyed it so much that he went to a local growler shop (Southern Filling Station) and picked up a large growler of the West LA IPA. Cherry Street has just recently opened a brew pub which I look forward to visiting this weekend.“

“New tasting room just opened, a total of over 20 of their beers on tap between the restaurant and the taproom. Quite a few barrel aged beers, nitro etc, all excellent. It has now moved up into the upper tier of GA brewpubs.“

Taco Mac - Cumming (Restaurant)
2275 MARKETPLACE BOULEVARD
“Not well-lit and lively, this is a typical Taco Mac - but that is not a bad thing. Interior has lots of TVs, but even during a major game they are not too loud. Servers are quick, efficient, and welcoming.bfood is good, above average bar fare. Big beer selection emphasizes craft and local brews. The average Taco Mac, but worthy of patronage.“

“Interior is different from most MMs, not having much of an Alice in Wonderland theme -this one is more sports. Service is alert and efficient, but warm and welcoming. Music was a tad loud when I visited, but not so it interfered with conversation. Food is Mellow a Mushroom good. Beer selection emphasizes craft brews, though there were not as many locals as at most MMs in the Atlanta metro area. Do pay a visit if you live and/or work in Cumming.“

“Restaurant is actually a long-established Southern style eatery, Rick Tanner’s Grille & Bar. The unpretentious interior has the lived-in look and feel of a well-established local institution. I found the service to be quite reliable and alert. Food is good, if not outstanding; what shines is the beer. They have quite a few of their creations on-tap as well as a couple guest taps. Prices are quite reasonable. A must if you live in the Cumming area, or are visiting.“

“Had to visit this one after visiting the Alpharetta store. It seems large compared to most growler stores I have visited. The fellows behind the counter were very friendly and easy to engage in some beer chat. Selection on-tap is mainly craft brews, a couple imports, emphasis on local offerings. Prices for growler fills appear reasonable, though their bottle prices are a shade higher than I have seen at other places. If you live in Cumming, or pass through on occasion, drop in and grab some suds.“

City Growler (Beer Store)
214C ATLANTA HWY
“Since it is back from the road and has a dinky sign, it can be hard to find - but it is worth the effort. Look for Rooster’s Cafe and Labor Finders - it’s in that shopping centre. Interior is not too clean, but not scruffy either. The man behind the counter is very friendly and helpful. They emphasize local brews, and currently they feature one Georgia brewery I’ve not heard of before. Couldn’t resist! Prices are quite reasonable. You leave with a definite feeling that you’re going to be back. The only problem is I wish they had those flip-top growlers, which I prefer because you’re much less likely to lose the cap.“

Georgia Liquor Barn (Beer Store)
701 ATLANTA RD
“The emphasis is on liquor, with beer towards the back. The selection in the coolers is the typical megabrews, a few locals and crafts - but when you turn around you see a long shelf of craft bombers. Still the selection is not impressive, though they made some effort. The cashier seemed a bit distant when he rung up my order, though he was not surly or rude. Having a bad day? Prices appear to be about average. Had to visit it once, and I did find a few things that I haven’t had; still, there are better beer stores in Forsyth County.“

“Family restaruant that just recently opened a small brewery next door. The food is well above your normal pub fair, and the beer selection has enough variety to make it a worthwhile stop. I think there is 10-12 Cherry Street brews on tap with a few good guest taps. All the beers were good, and I can’t wait until these guys start getting some experience under their belts on this system as I am sure the good beers will turn into great.“

“Fairly small, noisy bar and family restaurant. The servers were very friendly and knew the beer. The selection of Cherry Street beers was good, and had a wide variety, and there were some good craft bottles available, too. The prices are great. All the Cherry Street beers are about $5 / pint, and they do small pours for $2. The food is standard pub fare and southern cooking, but tasty. Overall, this is a fun little place, with pretty good beer and food. Will probably be back.“

“Nice, clean growler shop, with a ping pong table in the middle of the store. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and seemed to know his beer. The prices are fair. Overall, this is a good growler shop, and seems to have a different selection than most closer to Atlanta.“

“Looks like a standard liquor store out front, with a side door for the growler shop. I don’t know why they have to be separate, or why you have to go outside to go between them. Local laws, I guess. The service was slow, but I did get there right after opening. The selection is very good, especially in the growler shop. The prices are better than average, and worth the short drive off 400. Overall, this is a good store, with some quality beer.“

“Subdued little store in an older strip mall. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. The beers are nothing outstanding or rare, but a solid mix of local and quality craft beer. I can often find something here that has run out closer to town. The prices are very reasonable, and the growlerette markup is minimal. This is a nice little growler shop.“

“Just your general liquor store.Very small space, but that definitely doesn’t keep the selection down. Nice selection on craft. Wish they had cold singles and not just cases. Very knowledgeable staff. Gets lots of new stuff in before most. Nice to be able to count on them. Pricing is good. You save a few cents if you pay cash versus card.“

“Love the food at Mellow, and got like that they at least give a good effort to stocking some good beer. The taps are a hodge podge of some macro, but still mostly craft offerings. Nothing special, but they had 90 Minute. Therefore, I was happy. Great food, decent prices, on average selection. If you want pizza and a decent selection, Mellow is your best bet.“

Taco Mac - Cumming (Restaurant)
2275 MARKETPLACE BOULEVARD
“Like most Taco Mac’s the food here is decent, the selection is well above average, but the prices are a tad more expensive than some places. I do say that they stock the local one offs pretty nicely. For Cumming this is about as good as your going to get. However, I just moved from downtown so in comparison I just can’t rate it highly. But, if you are in the area don’t let my 74 scare you away.“

“Big open country bar setup. Lots of tvs, so it has a sports bar feel too. The service was a bit off, but I can’t ding them too much for only going once. The food was good with nice portions. The beer list was pretty good considering how far from Atlanta this place is. Overall, since i just moved up to the area, I will be visiting much more since I beliieve this is the best I am going to get. Good value on the brews too.“

“The traffic trying to get into this place is aweful all the time it seems. This store is my last resort. The staff doesn’t really seem to care about the customers. I had asked them if they had Samuel Adams The Vixen, and the only response I recieve was "it’s on the shelf." No one showed me where it was, I had to look for what seemed like forever for the beer I was craving. I went back and had asked them if they could show me where it was, all they did was point and repeat "it’s on the shelf" but added "over there." Very rude, and not very knowledgeable about their own inventory.“

“Clean, but poorly laid out building. The beer coolers are on the sides and out of sight. The one on the far right is labeled ’imports’, but contains the entire selection of American craft beer, as well as all the actual imports. The ’domestic’ side is only macrobrews. The service was poor. When I asked about something, they went to get someone who knew something to help me, and never came back. I waited about ten minutes, and then left. The selection was very slim. I’d recommend going just down the road to Dawson Fine Wine.“

“Took the trip up here after work as it would normally be quite a trek from where I live to pick up a rare style of beer (Faro). They have a fairly large selection of local, micros, & imports. I will be monitoring the beers available here since I think they might continue to have rarer beers longer than at Greens.“

“Visited on a recent trip to Dahlonega -- and this was definitely worth the trip. The place was packed at 7pm on a Saturday, so we took the last two seats at the bar. It was really busy and the bar service was slow, but things improved as the dinner rush thinned out. Really solid tap beer selection with some fairly rare offerings from New Belgium, Founders, Allagash and Terrapin. I had a Centennial IPA that clearly had been on for a while, but other than a stale IPA no complaints. Food and beer were both great. A definite must stop when in the area.“

“Visited on a recent trip to Dahlonega--and boy, am I glad we drove the extra distance to find this place. Best selection of beer I have seen in somewhat rural GA for sure. It took quite a while to browse the beers as it seemed beer was everywhere -- coolers, shelves, hiding in back corners, etc. Noticed some beers from Left Hand, Sweetwater, Allagash, Moylans and Founders that I hadnt seen elsewhere in the area. Definitely more than a few treasures to find if you take the time to look carefully. A must stop in this area.“

“Stopped on a recent trip to Dahlonega. Not a huge selection of craft beer, but enough were I could spend some change and have a few nice beers as a result. Noticed beers from North Coast, Oscar Blues, Terrapin, Left Hand and others along with a nice import selection with a smattering of beers from England, Germany and Belgium. Didnt encounter any of the rude people referenced by others, but worth a stop if you are cruising down GA 400. Probably nothing rare here, but an above average selection of craft beers.“

“This is a great place to buy beer if you have time to browse, and know what you’re looking for. They have cases and shelves, and lots of craft beer in almost no semblance of order. 7 or 8 cooler doors of macro and micro selections. I was able to find Duck Rabbit beers, Founders, Bell’s, Terrapin, and Left Hand selections, mixed in with everything else. Employees usually stay up by the register, so I was left to browse, but I did find a few gems. I would definitely return again, if in the area.“

“This was my first Taco Mac experience, so I can’t compare to the other Taco Macs, but was ok. The place is well-lit, but VERY crowded at 7pm on a Saturday. Had two seats at the bar and got sketchy service at the bar until the place thinned out, then service was great. They had over 100 taps and bottles. I had Terrapin’s Dark Side, Founders’ Double Trouble, New Belgium La Folie, and Allagash Curieux on draft. My friend’s Founders’ Centennial IPA was a bit stale on the hops, but aside from that no complaints. Chips and dips were amazing; entree food was pretty good overall. Definitely worth the stop if in the area.“

“Take a right off GA400 N, exit 14 (same exit as Summits). It is on the left by Wal-Mart. Kinda cramped. I’m a small dude, and I caught my self walking sideways down the aisles. Lots of beer. Good beer, bad beer, local beer, foreign beer, new beers, hard to find beer. Newest of the new offerings and hard to find offerings. This is my new place to shop. This is a good go to place when you can’t drive all the way down to Green’s or Bullock’s. Not the biggest selection of those awesome Belgian rarities, but JAX holds their own. I plan to be a regular. Great prices, nice selection of the newest beers. CASH DISCOUNTS!“

“Great selection... especially on tap. Their bottle selection favors internationals while the taps show of the US very well. I wish they would put the prices of the beers on the menu and group them by style, not location of the brewery. Some of their beer prices are way high.... like $9 for a snifter of Ten Fidy.... and they don’t indicate it anywhere on the menu... The food was really good... would definitely go back again.“
