62 /100 New Delight Inn (Bar) BLACKSHAW HEAD Perched high above the town to its north-west (not walkable unless you are prepared to make a day of it) and right next to the Hebden Bridge campsite, this is accessed by the main road that goes past Heptonstall or up the hill through the suburb of Mytholm and then heading towards Heptonstall. The pub has a car park that separates it from the campsite which is operated separately to the inn. Inside there’s two areas either side of a central bar, if you have a dog you’ll have to go to the left without the carpet, but to the right it is very similar and equally as comfortable with lots of soft furnished wooden furniture around a central fireplace. The building is old but without any historical significance, of more interest is the beers that are brewed at a nearby farm specifically to be sold here, although a guest ale is usually available too. There’s also a Thwaites Lager permanently on keg. Food is served and there’s plenty of tables in each room area. |
