“This is a nice pub, no doubt about that. However, the beer range, comprising of their own beers is too large and suffers as a result. Quality is a real issue here and even when you get an acceptable pint, the beer is very average.“

“Legendary brew pub at the top of an incredibly steep hill. This gem is run by Ronald Crabtree who brews up to eight beers under the LINFIT range which are only available at the brewpub. Divided up into several cosy drinking areas, kept warm by log fires in winter, and friendly staff and locals make you feel very welcome indeed. I have visited several times in the past ten years and enjoyed every session here. Beer prices are very cheap as beers are brewed onsite. No food is seved here so eat beforehand and then allow time to explore the range. I recommend that you visit this superb brewpub, and you will not be disappointed! Update: Please IGNORE any stories on the internet that the pub has stopped brewing, they are inaccurate. I visited last night (Sat 19 Feb) and the pub is going strong, and continues to brew seven beers. The only one they have stopped doing is Enochs Hammer, which is now correctly marked up as retired. I have tasted enjoyed and rated all the remaining beers, and there continues to be a friendly welcome in this excellent pub. Your visit will be worth the efforts made.“

“Friendly, welcoming rustic boozer a few miles out of Huddersfield with a tremendous view of the valley. Very steep hill to be negotiated if coming in from the wrong direction. 4 comfortable rooms and a good range of the Linfit miicro-brews, usually a couple of guests too. Usually a friendly mutt or two present. Roaring fire in the colder days. Excellent staff and there’s plenty of local characters. No food available.“
