“Great community pub with very friendly staff and regulars. 10 real ales and 4 real ciders on draft, massive freshly made crusty cobs. Small cosy bar with dart board, seperate lounge, smoking area, courtyard, dart room, real fires, free wifi, BT and Sky Sports, entertainment every Friday night and every other Saturday. Black Country Ales BFG / Pig On The Wall are permanent fixtures, 10 real ales in total with Wye Valley, Clun Brewery and Salopian often available, 4 real ciders on draft. A really friendly and clean pub with a great choice of well kept beers, also has a choice of straight or handled glasses. “

“This is a back street locals pub that has made it into the 2019 Good Beer Guide, and I must admit I wondered where I was walking to from the 74 bus stop, but got a friendly welcome early afternoon today. Black Sheep Holy Grail, Pitchfork East Street Cream, Wye Valley HPA and Hobson's collaboration with Brew By Numbers Simcoe Chinook which was a great Black IPA. Sat outside in the beer garden where we were able to see the Bridge over the Tame enjoying the beer and sunshine.“

“Friendly canalside pub. Good ale selection today. Hook Norton crafty series Sundial, Arkells Spring Hopper, Wadworth Burnt Orange IPA and Elgoods Saturday night Beaver along with their regular Greene King Abbot and Wye Valley HPA beers. Beer garden through the pub, and canal seating served with plastic glasses .“

“Visited on the blackcountry brewpub tour with Travlr, Richthevillan and jmgreenuk. I have never visited this place despite it only being a mile or two from my home. Unpretentious place with friendly staff and Brewer. There were six casks on, all from their own brewery with a mix of bitters, gold and a stout. All the beer was decent. I will be popping in here more whenever I pass.“

“Visited during the Black Country pub crawl organized by SarkyNorthener, RichTheVillan and jmgreenuk. Two large rooms, the one we chose seemd a bit louder than the other. Decor is ’70s chic. Nice beer garden out back. Very welcoming staff. Brewer came over to say hello and have a chat, nice guy. Beers were very tasty. Enjoyable beers. Nice visit.“

“A properly traditional Black Country boozer. No frills, just a friendly welcome. No great shakes in the beer dept, save for a few nice guest real ales. Lovely.“

64 /100 45 TAME ROAD, GREAT BRIDGE
“This is lovely boozer, in a location that is both tranquil and verdant; and potentially scary. On a road of run-down social housing, this may not sound promising, but it also backs onto a country park and the River Tame. Has a few nice guest ales on, and cobs behind the bar. Service was fine, but we got a few outright stares as we walked through the front door. The fixtures and decor are lovely and apart from the bright red paintjob outside, this seems like a genuine and well preseved local. I wouldn’t vouch for what it would be like of an evening, but on the days when I am working down the road, this is a nice option to have, and is certainly a place which towers above the majority of rubbish pubs in the vicinity.“
