“A home-brewer hired as part of a separate team within the brewery led us round the usual regional brewery tour. He took two hours longer than advertised. The brewery is a typical Victorian tower brewery, and is right on the edge of the small town of Devizes, with a good view up the High Street. The tour was interesting enough, and decent value for money given the free beer at the end. There is a small display area as an extension of the shop, which they call the museum. You wouldn't bother looking around that unless you were already in the shop or waiting for the tour to start. There is a small bar area - quite cramped and windowless. Not a place you would choose to come to, unless you were on a brewery tour, or had popped in the shop and wanted to check out what beers they had on offer. There are plenty of decent proper pubs in town, all of which sell Wadworth beers. The only choice of beers is Wadworth. Wadworth are a decent enough local/regional brewery, but they are not a great brewery.“

“Fairly standard Wetherspoons just off of the market place. Looks small from the front but goes back quite a long way - there seemed to be outdoors seating out the back too, but it was too dark and cold to investigate that on my visit. The service was friendly but a little slow (only two bar staff on Friday night?!). There were 8 handpumps, but despite being the middle of one of the Wetherspoons beerfest they only had two festival ales on. There was also one local ale on (a porter from Flying Monk). The remaining brews were your standard national ales. Cask condition was average. The food was the usual 'Spoons cheap and cheerful fare, and was cooked well and arrived promptly. Overall a slightly sub-par 'Spoons, but one that came in very handy after a lengthy diversion to avoid a closure of the M4 and resulting heavy congestion on nearby routes.“

“Visited with husband before meal out - enjoyed the wide range of beers, especially with the three beer paddles giving you a chance to sample a few. Only opens until 9pm so not a busy late one, easily found a table in a cosy nook.“

“Good place, in a neighbourhood near the city centre. Local dogs ambush you when you walk in the door - hilarious. Great living room feel to this one, good fun.“

“Unfortunately the brewery tour wasn’t running when we were there, so we just explored the museum (usual sniffing of hops, info boards etc) & then headed to the bar. Not only do they have 5 handpumps (including one special beer only available at the brewery when we were there) but they’ll also happily open any of their bottled range for you to sample. There’s a traditional pub game on every table, and the whole feel is relaxed and cosy, yet surprisingly modern, airy and clean. The shop also sells bottles to take away including some new beers only available here. Great place to while away a couple of hours..“
