78 /100 Die Kneipe (Bar) HOCHSTRASSE 1 We visited here Fri 4th and Sat 5th November in the company of Rhys. This is a nice little bar, I guess as the name suggests it is as close to a UK pub as you are likely to get. Inside it has a bar and narrow area with seating up to the bar, then on the left is a separate room, mostly wood covered with 6-8 tables as I recall.
Beer choice is good with beers from the following MIttenwalder, Tergenseer, Werdenfelser and Erdinger. Staff were excellent, really prompt service, very friendly and super efficient. Prices were also good and it had also had a nice vibe here with a number of younger folk here, really nice and a good alternative to the excellent Mittenwalder brewery which is a little more food orientated. |
78 /100 INNSBRUCKER STR. 13 We cycled here Friday 10th July 2020 after a 30+km cycle ride from Camping Karwendelcamp, Scharnitz Austria, however we had first headed south to Seefeld then onto Weidach and Unterkirchen along a beautiful river path before arriving here for a much needed beer. The brewery is on the southern edge of town and according to Google Maps is about a 9minute walk from the centre, it's on Innsbrucker Straße. I cycled past it but my eagle eye for beer related signage glimpsed beer,/brewery signage just as I was about to continue into town, it doesn't really stand out other than perhaps only for being quite unremarkable.
We headed up some steps to a small roof terrace, everyone was spacially isolating and wearing masks. Staff wore traditional Bavarian clothing and the menu was quite traditional as was the beer selection. I had a Dunkel Weizen and Loz a regular wheat both were very pleasant, mine in particular very good. Service was swift and pricing very reasonable. I only briefly nipped inside to pay, it looked quite a good sized interior.
If you want to buy beers to take away (I did) the brewery shop is a 100metres behind and in a separate building across the road, beers here were really cheap but they had a very expansive selection of their own range. I liked this place and the beers are good, I would definitely return. |
54 /100 INNSBRUCKER STR. 13 Came here during the opening hours of the taps... However they don't seem to sell bottles at least in that time frame. Instead they sent me to the nearby REWE which also sells Mittenwald beers (However not all of them (no seasonals etc...)). The place looks more or less like any other traditional Bavarian brewpub with maybe an above average landscape surrounding it. Nothing much else to be said. |
54 /100 INNSBRUCKER STR. 13 We came here on 10.3.2017. Seems to be one of the highest situated breweries in Germany. Large brewhouse located on the upper floor. Great outside view on the brewhouse with the snow covered mountains in the back. 10 beers on tap, mainly own lagers and Weissbier (Werdenfelser brewery). Had the Keller beer (unfiltered lager), which was mediocre. |
48 /100 INNSBRUCKER STR. 13 I missed out on the kellerbier (they call it Zwickel themselves), because of the hopelessly limited opening times of the Brauerei Ausschank, that also looks hopelessly outdated. Luckily the store was open. Very friendly service by a somewhat elderly woman. Cheap and fairly good beers to take away. |
