“Restaurant and hotel right in the city center. I only added this place as they have a special beer brewed for them by Lahnstein. Its called Wolpertinger Bräu and is a solid unfiltered Pils. And they have beers from Herrn Bräu. Quite nice rooftop terrace overlooking the river.“

“Very comfy place with nice interiors & excellent beergarten. Unfortunately all 3 local beers were just awful... What a pity for such a nice place.“

“Just stopped here at about 1pm on a saturday to buy the beers for take away. They only had the Hell, Dunkel and Weizen. They do sell the 3 in a package with a branded glass aswell. Atmosphere seemed good. Very modern Restaurant, good Setting, big Windows. I asked if they have something Special on draft but was unlucky.“

We visited Brauwerk brewery tap in Bad Kreuznach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, Monday 27th June 2016. We arrived by cycle following a ride from Guldental where we were staying, however just for awareness this is a short walk along the river, past the park and near the salt walls, it’s probably 10 mins from the centre of town heading south-west. There is plenty of parking outside for anyone arriving by car.

This place is really very smart, a large room with brewing equipment along the front edge and the slightly elevated view also looks out onto a beer garden, mostly hard standing as opposed to grass from what I could tell. It was very clean and the whole thing looked very efficient. We sat with just a beer, most folk were eating the food looked good according to Loz. The staff were friendly, one slightly older female staff member was quite funny and happily joked with the customers.

We sat drinking our beers (which were fine) whilst a brewery tour was going on to the side of us, the young chap who’d served us now on brewery tour duty to a coach party of late middle aged and elderly German folk. The music playing in the background was a constantly medley of eighties hits, I certainly didn’t need shazam to pick out the following, It’s Raining Men by The Weather Girls, Just an Illusion by Imagination, Dancing With Tears in my Eyes by Ultravox, Remember the Promise you Made by Cock Robin, Doctor Doctor by The Thompson Twins, Dancing on Sunshine by Katrina and The Waves, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper and then a few random hits disrupt the 80’s theme with John Miles - Music (was my first love).

We didn’t mind this place at all, there didn’t really appear to be many places in Bad Kreuznach, so this is a welcome find.

“The atmosphere was a little too trendy for my taste but it was very modern European. It wasn’t what you think when you think German Brew Pub. It was extremely clean they have made great use of the space. Although it is not centrally located it is in a great location. By the salt wall and river. The staff is very friendly. The group on duty did struggle with English but that is OK considering that I am in their country. The food was presented well, tasted great and was fast.“

“Came here with Bierkug and had a very nice time. They have seasonals and some really nice food. The Helles beer was not the best but the others were fine.“

“Very modern and nice place. Just opened a few months ago. It sits on the Nahe River and has a great beer garten as well. Inside is very modern and has currenly four beers. Food is a mix of modern and old German. Service was very good and they had enough staff. As soon as I asked questions about the beer a brew master came to the table. A nice place for sure.“
