“One of the better south suburban watering holes with better than average bar food and pizza, excellent specials and a great selection of some harder to find crafts from the likes of Floyds, Goose, Rev brew and others. Truly an oasis in a beer starved area“

“I used to come here all the time back when I first turned 21. Now that they’ve added taps for craft beer Ive been coming back. Its a large and comfortable neighborhood bar. Ive only tried their pizza and its very good, with their stuffed being exceptional. Thier beer selection doesnt change as much as Id like to see in a really good craft beer bar but they always have a good selection and they are somehow able to get some rare Three Floyds beers Ive only seen at the brewery.“

“Blarney Stone used to be a dive. They have since revamped it and installed 39 taps serving local and micro brews. They just recently started selling growlers which people in the south suburbs I don’t believe really understand. The growlers are decent quality priced sensibly. The ambiance is a bit divey but this is a south suburb in an Irish enclave. What more do you need? They usually have decent live music on weekends and only on really important drinking holidays or a when a popular band is playing they charge cover. I’ve seen things get dicey here but the bouncers have always taken care of it and it is few and far between. If you enjoy local Mid-West brews from Illinois/Michigan/Wisconsin/Missouri you can find them here along with your more popular nationally distributed microbrews. Most beer afficianados will find this place an acceptable fit to their needs. Oh and if you wanna order a PBR in a can you can do that too. Now on to the food. Blarney has great pub food. They also updated their food menu and offer a wide range of everything from hamburgers to ribs. I would suggest the chicken finger sandwich (it sounds unimpressive but is legit). Accordingly they have decent thin crust pizza and deliver. The wait staff work hard and they are generally younger lasses with pretty faces. On a busy night you can still get served quickly. The prices for everything here are reasonable though there growlers for the higher end beers can put a dent on the wallet. Overall this place is a great local pub. OH YEAH they just started hosting a fall and winter beer tasting event. Their Winter Solstice is $20 pre pay and $30 at the day and they will have brewers representing everything from two brothers to Magic Hat to Abita. It should be a good time.“
