“Nice spot in Berlin, well situated off a main road, lots of parking, big outdoor space. Unfortunately, the day we went it was a billion degrees outside and so indoors was butt to nut. Even more unfortunately, they had little to no working AC so it was a sauna. Even at 1:30 pm on a Friday it was totally jammed, and there was one guy who had a whole table of like 9 under-10 kids screaming and playing flip cups while he pounded sours like he was trying to murder his liver or forget his life choices. No other parents to be seen. Service was of course slow, and no one respected the service lines so it took forever to get your beers, which were nearly room temp by the time you got to your table to try to drink them. Big draft list of their house stuff, but the quality varied wildly, which is very on brand for this brewery over the last couple years. A few standouts but several just plain awful offerings. In short, seems like this place is coasting on hype while still putting out just enough good beer to maintain the facade. And massive ding for operating an establishment with poor AC/ventilation when you're packing people in on hot Maryland summers. Someone's going to go down with heatstroke. We left after 15 minutes. This was one of 6 different spots we hit on the birthday beer trip 2021 and it was overall the worst experience of the lot.“

“Great selection of different styles of beer and number of beers offered. The ipas were solid, the sours fantastic. All the beers I tried were well made and really good but the sours shined. The space is great. Nice indoor section and some great outdoor space as well, although it was a bit hot to enjoy the outside space when we were there. Awesome place. Really could spend lots of time there and for sure would go back.“

“Came here on 30.9.2018. This brewpub opened already 7 years ago. Two bars and a spacious outside area. Ben did not like the chairs and barrel tables. Beers were all quite good - had a session IPA, a regular IPA and a Double IPA. Service was weird and did not serve us with any attention.“

Burley Cafe (Restaurant)
17 JEFFERSON ST.
“Just opened a few months ago or so we were told. Right behind the Atlantic Hotel where we stayed for Berlins annual Christmas parade. Stopped in for some munchies and a beer. All Burley Oak products of course. fair little selecetion of B.O. brews. Service was good, waitress was nice and had good knowledge of her product. Small bar with 4 or 5 tables to sit at. Clean place serving beers, coffees and small plates for breakfast and lunch. Comfy, laid back ambience. A couple beers and a turkey flat bread tray came out to like $26 which seemed a bit much to me but when your in a touristy type place like Berlin i guess its to be expected. Food and beers were pretty good. Good service, clean pissery and a fair amount of parking i think. Looks pet friendly also. Growlers to go as well. Worth a stop if yer in Berlin.“

“A bit out of the way but worth the stop. Staff is friendly and the tap room wasn’t too crowded even on a Friday night. Large selection to try and beers are decent. Tasters are crazy overpriced.“

“Arrived about 9PM on a Monday, doing a pretty light business of locals. Great service, very friendly and knowledgable. All beers available in a taster size, so you can work your way through exactly what you want to try. Nice bar with tables around the outside. Parking in the lot alongside, no problems there. Beers ranged from so so to pretty darn good. They are kind of getting into sours and are doing alright. The dry hopped Berliner was pretty tasty. A place to watch.“

“Looks nondescript from the road, but there is a lot of character on the inside, from barrel top tables and comfortable seating to the bar. Some games on the patio. Service was very friendly and helpful. Saw about 10 taps, and the 4 we tasted were all solid choices. A short detour of US Rte 50, between Salisbury and Ocean City.“

“Great, bustling neighborhood bar near Assateague beach with tons of rotating taps and cask beers. Lots of stuff that doesn’t turn up much in D.C., and everything is available by taster flight or 4 oz pour. Decent service. Cool patio, and great stop on the way home from the beach.“

“Read reviews and was looking forward to the trip, but was extremely disappointed. $6 beers or $4 tasters. Not much of a choice but to fork up extra cash for the full glass and hope you like it. Sour stout was one beer I regret ordering. They serve no food so I can't rate that. Shuffleboard table was only high point of trip“

Cheers (Beer Store)

“This place has been here forever & looks like your typical Gas & Go/Beer Store from the outside. They started getting into the craft beer scene a few years ago, & have steadily expanded over time & has become the go to Craft Beer Store in the Ocean City/Berlin area, which sadly doesn’t really have a lot of great options if you are looking for something other than mass market swill/BMC. Plenty of good stuff here, heavy on Dogfish as you would expect in this area. Heavy Seas, EVO, etc....more domestics than Imports. Decent wine selection as well, staff is knowledgable if you ask, but they will generally leave you alone to browse, a big percentage of their customers are beach area tourists or locals who aren’t coming in for craft brew. They are right down the street from Burley Oak, so they are a convenient stop if you are heading there.“

“Unassuming place on the outside, just a stone building with a big parking lot, far enough away from the beach crowds. Inside, though, is a very characterful sea of wood, with a very long cozy bar. Nice selection of both their flagship stuff plus some local variants and brewpub-only stuff, as well as a few bottles to take away. They even had a cask variant served on a real handpull - although the attached sparkler might give pause to any CAMRA members who visit. Beers were tasty, service was quick and friendly. Worth going out of your way to try this place.“

“Nice tasting room inside with a good selection of Burley Oak’s beers on draft and one cask. Pints available for around $5 and taster glasses are $2 each. A few bottles available for take out. Friendly bartender. Well worth a stop.“

“Stopped by Burley on the way outta Berlin on a thurs. afternoon. Neat set up they have here! Nice bar, probably sits a dozen or so with some other seating available. They had about a dozen or so of their beers on draft with a few special releases available bottled. They also crowler 32oz,s for you if thats what you want. I dig the ambience, laid back and you can see the brewing facilities through the window behind the bar. Server was friendly and informative and the pissery was clean. Worth a stop if yer down in this neck of the woods!“

“Visited today driving home from a work training in nearby Ocean City. Nice smaller brewery, as we walked in the air was heavy with the aroma of spent grain. Inside has a long bar and tables, a chalkboard lists ~14 beers on tap. Staff were very friendly, not much of their stuff seems bottled (just special releases) but they growler and "crowler" which is pretty cool. Pricing was fair, I sampled everything they offered that day. Overall I will visit these guys again.“

“Well this place was a pleasant surprise. Connected to a gas station, it looks like a convenience store. Inside there is quite an impressive selection of micro brews -- local, national and international. Many, even 12 oz, are available in singles at reasonable prices.“

“Visited on a Friday evening after the Seagull Century bike ride. It was quite busy. Nice small brewery tap room atomoshere with friendly and helpful staff. Five ounce tasters for two bucks a pop make this an affordable destination. Some very decent brews.“

“Visited: 2-18-14 Ambiance: Really cool place, bar only holds about a dozen people but there are plenty of tables and couches around for ample seating. There is decent brewiana around the interior plus a window behind the bar into the brewing facility. Service: Bartender was decent, prompt, friendly and knowledgeable Selection: A solid array of 14 beers on tap that covered the gambit plus a great brown sour and a Berliner, unusal styles for a small brewery. Value: 5 beers came to under 30 bucks, all were solid, worth it. Overall: When you are in the Delmarva area, I would highly recommend it.“

“Rustic bar that’s dimly lit with a lot of exposed wood and metal throughout. Definitely has some style with the minimalist approach and there were many small photos from the local region up for sale hanging on the walls. Dart board and fooseball table inside and last time I was there they were setting up a small area for a band. House beers are pretty solid and they seem to keep getting better each time I visit. Decent number of taps, but last time I was there half of the kegs were kicked. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.“

“Really liked this place and was pleasantly surpirsed. Ambiance is really cool. Very rustic, lots of wood, and barrels, almost civil war like. Service was very good, which wasn;t hard as there wasn;t many people there, but attentive and knowledgable about the beer. Selection was nice, probably about 15 of their own beers on tap, most of which were pretty solid. Prices were pretty cheap for samples as well. Definitely worth going the 8-10 miles out of the way if visiting Ocean City.“

“Stopped in with no expectations, but was very pleasantly surprised with everything. The beers were really solid, flavorful, and well balanced. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable, and enthusiastic about this new brewery. They have a few different barrel-aged offerings coming out in the coming months and it seems like they have a rotating list. A real "local" feel to the place too makes it really inviting. Highly recommended and I look forward to visiting this place again when I visit Bethany Beach in the future.“

“The brewery is located in an older building that holds onto its past character on the inside while looking fairly new outside. The exposed beams and ceiling create a barn-like feel inside, and that continues with the barrel tables. The beers here were solid, with 6 house beers and 2 DFH beers on tap. Barrel aging is underway and the first batch should be available late summer 2012. The service is quite friendly and ready to talk beer, so introduce yourself and start up a conversation. Keep an eye on these guys as their brewing expands and the barrel beers start occupying large format bottles.“

“Cool place, but they lacked selection when we were there with only one beer on tap. I hope they work out their supply issues and can get some more beers on. Brewery was only 2-3 weeks old when we went in so they are still getting things together. The beer was solid so they will do well once they get more beers.“

“This is the first Microbrewery in Worcester Co. Md,.Just outside Ocean City Md. in the town of Berlin, has had to overcome a lot of obstacles & some antiquated local beer laws. Owner Brian Brushmiller has turned an old cooperage building into a cool, local hangout. Large bar, tables, sitting area, lots of natural old wood, surfboards, etc... Visited opening weekend & they had 3 beers, all solid, have since added a forth. Small batch brewer who is making every effort to operate as green as possible, planning to do barrell aging over the Winter, this is really the only beer destination in the Ocean City area.“
