“This was a nice enroute lunch stop. Food definitely above average, good service, interesting beer list. Old characterful building next to some railroad tracks with a parking lot in back. Long classy wooden bar with bar tables, even nicer dining room on the other side of the stairs. Pretty patio with umbrella tables. Solid.“

“John Stones was built to be an Inn\Pub in 1834. It has the ambiance of an old English Pub, complete with resident ghost. The beer selection is limited, but it’s probably the best selection within 15 miles . They try to represent a variety of styles on tap and in the bottle. The food is very good, though a bit pricey. Still worth it. The courtyard seating in the summer is great, although when the train goes buy you’re about 20 feet from the passing engine.“

“Been here once with OldGrowth. Lovely looking place, ambiance is an easy five in part for the tasteful interior and exterior and the lack of any cheesy decor, with a laid back atmosphere and a historic building to boot. Service was good at the bar, couldnt complain, while the beer selection, for this area was actually surprising. Berkshire and nutfield, with a couple German hefe/pils on tap. Fine veggie cheese melt, and the rest of the menu looked very interesting (perhaps a little too meat heavy). Would definitely go again.“

“Old Inn in Ashland, rumored to be haunted. Has colonial influence about it. I’ve had some slow service here, but always friendly. Nice little patio area. Not a huge selection, but always something tasty. Off hand what I remember from my last visit. Guiness, Murphy’s stouts, Harpoon IPA, Hacker Pschorr, Anchor Steam. Had some Berkshire, Nutfield in bottle. Never had a bad meal here. Good grilled cheese, burgers. Fine dining has always been good, though I forget what I had the last time I ate in the dining room. Went to a wine tasting here once. Can accomadate larger groups.“
