“Cozy two rooms, the first with exposed pipes, Edison bulbs, bar and two tables seating six. Back room looks over the brewing equipment (where food was served out of) set off by a pony wall and three smaller tables separated by another pony wall. Homey family pictures on the wall. Was a bustling crowd--nice to see the community support (but it may have been because it was St. Patrick's Day). Parking outside is a bit scant as it is located in an apartment building and other businesses nearby. Friendly service.“

“Reasonable selection. Have regular beer tastings. Nice staff but limited beer knowledge. A little pricier than most. Nice dog!“

“Decent selection of craft beers, and keeps getting better. Prices are good and staff are reasonably knowledgeable. Good little place.“

“Stopped in this store in a strip mall near the Cummings Center in Beverly. Beer is available in coolers to the right when you enter, in shelving in front of the coolers and along the wall to the back left. Pretty small place and at first I was not impressed until I found the wall in the back. Back has good selection of new offerings and relative rarities when compared to other North Shore and Boston stores. There must be a beer buyer that has some knowledge, but the guy at the register was no help when I was there and couldn’t answer simple questions about when a beer arrived on the shelves. Prices seemed a little high for the area, but within range of other stores in the area.“

“This is the nicest place that I’ve found to have a drink in the Northshore area. A very comfortable, classy environment that allows for understandable conversation. The service is sometimes slow with drink refills, if you’re sitting at a table, simply because they’re very busy serving food as well. The selection is great for the Northshore, with many highly rated Belgians, Germans, and locals on tap. The food is remarkable, especially the chicken nachos, which are enough for four very hungry people. Overall, I really enjoy this place and recommend it, though don’t expect it to be a bar environment. It’s very much a nice restaurant with a heckuva bar. Update (12/13/07): This bar has slipped somewhat in my consistency of going there. Unless you sit at the bar, you’re not going to get good service. Wait staff can be rude, though the bartenders are fine. Miserably loud on weekend.“
