68 /100 8790 208TH STREET W The place was packed, live music playing and an energetic vibe during my visit. Service was a tad slow due to it being busy, but nothing horrible. The milk stout was fantastic and they had a handul of brews available, along with a handful of guest taps. Will be back and imagine it is even better in the summer. |
56 /100 8790 208TH STREET W More of a family style resturant that brews a few beers. Decent size dining room with a small bar area. Seems like a nice size fenced in patio backyard area. They only had three house beers during the visit and guest taps. Seems like a nice enough local place but maybe not worth traveling too far to get there. |
54 /100 20841 HOLYOKE AVE Small taproom, with long tables. Few beers were ok otherwise forgettable to awful. Unless they improve mightily and really separate themselves from the mediocre pack, I really don’t have any reason to return, it’s just not worth the drive out. |
58 /100 20841 HOLYOKE AVE I was glad to finally head down to the far south metro to check out this fairly new brewery. Angry Inch hasn’t garnered much buzz and their beer doesn’t seem to be available outside of the brewery, so I walked in with very little knowledge of their beer or reputation. The brewing area and taproom’s housed in a single divided room. The customer area’s fairly small (room for ~40 or so) and bare bones, but seems like a nice enough place to waste an hour. 10 beers featured on tap, covering a range of high-boost styles (Tripel, IIPA, Imperial Porter). Presently, the beer quality leaves much to be desired. However, prices were low enough to absorb some of the sting ($10 for a 6 sample flight). Overall, due to the poor beer quality, I can’t recommend a visit. However, due to Angry Inch’s close proximity to Lakeville Brewing, it might be worth checking out if you’re ticking your way through the area and not deterred by drinking beer of questionable quality. |
66 /100 Lakeville Liquors - Kenrick (Beer Store) 16179 KENRICK AVE December 10, 2011 - Stopped in to pick up some Surly and Goose Island. Okay selection of beers. Have a singles section but you have to buy six which was not cool. Pretty good prices as well and as noted in my Galaxie rating, Lakeville has a craft brew club. Manager did throw in a free beer due to a misunderstanding so that was nice. |
62 /100 Lakeville Liquors - Kenrick (Beer Store) 16179 KENRICK AVE Decent store for beers. Nowhere near the selection of Blue Max, Ale Jail, Zipps, etc., but there is a decent amount here. Bomber selection is a bit limited, but they do have a moderately sized mix-and-match 6 pack shelf for $7.99 per pack. I would say this place is slightly behind Apple Valley Liquor stores. |
64 /100 Lakeville Liquors Galaxie (Beer Store) COUNTY ROAD 46 & GALAXIE AVENUE Another municipal beer store, so decent selection with good prices. Plus gives back to the community so that is cool. Lakeville also has a craft beer club. |
