78 /100 Ayottes Market (Grocery Store) 100 RIVER ROAD This store is down the street from where I grew up and I stopped there yesterday for the first time in a few years. This store is a state line market which means its perched on the border of Massachusetts in an effort to entice those from out of start to buy cheaper smokes and alcohol in my fair state. This usually means 30 packs galore and they do have a huge selection of those. What really impressed me is that they have put in maybe 60 feet of shelving dedicated to craft beer and probably carry every brand available in NH. Still had Bolt Cutter on the shelf. The pricing seemed on par or slightly lower than in other area stores. Service was non existent at 6pm on a Monday, the kid stocking the shelves saw me more than once and never offered assistance, but I didn’t really need any. The deli makes fresh subs and they were great years ago, but I didn’t sample this time. I will definitely stop by here again when in the area. |
46 /100 The Drink Shoppe (Beer Store) 214 CENTRAL ST Read about this place on this site and it’s not to far from where I live so I thought I would check it out. A major disappointment. Place was much smaller than I expected, not that it’s a bad thing, but it was kind of dirty and not very well organized. Selection was not very good. No Smuttynose Big Beer Series. They had some of the usual stuff, Sam Adams, Flying Dog, Sam Smith, Unibroue, DFH, nothing you can’t get in any bottle shop. Kind of on the pricey side too. If you live in Hudson fine, but if you don’t, don’t make the trip. |
48 /100 The Drink Shoppe (Beer Store) 214 CENTRAL ST Bought Sam Adams lager 3x here each time it was past the sell by date and weird stuff was floating in it. Same went for some other local brews too. Well stocked and good service. But just seems that every other time its as tho the beer didnt sell, it goes bad, I return it get a refund. Happens alot. All between March-April 08. |
58 /100 The Drink Shoppe (Beer Store) 214 CENTRAL ST A decent bottle shop- but definitely over priced. It has a good stock of local brews (Smuttynose, DFH, Ommegang, etc.) as well as the standard UK/Canadian imports you’d expect for the area (Samuel Smith, Unibroue, etc). The rotten old woman at the counter didn’t seem to offer any help with our selections. |
70 /100 The Drink Shoppe (Beer Store) 214 CENTRAL ST Hands down, the best beer store I have found in NH. They have Dogfish, Unibroue, Rouge, Samuel Smith, Ommegang, Woodstock Brewery, Nutfield, and Smuttynose, to name a few. Though they don’t seem very knowledgable about beer, the people working there are very friendly. |
