“RACIST AND DISGUSTINGLY RUDE OWNER. My coworkers and I were in town for a wedding at Oyster Point Hotel and we decided to stop by here and get a bottle of wine to relax after a long day. When my Latino coworker asked the man at the register for a nice bottle of Malbec, he looked at him up and down and said, “the only ones we have are $30 and up.” As if we could not afford any of the selections. Then, my other coworker and I grabbed a few Heineken and as we stood there, he came UP TO US and said, “I’ll tell you where to find a nice Malbec, just leave, go across the street..” and we cut him off and left before he could continue. It’s absolutely atrocious that the white women there were being catered to and shown the exact products they needed but he practically pushed us out of his store. If you want to be profiled or see what racist America looks like today, go see this place. Don’t try to buy anything though, he will tell you you’re too poor to afford anything.“

“Sunday April 28th, 2013- I stopped by this place wanting to check out the 32 taps. It’s a very small store, average bottle selection, and a decent tap selection; Carton, Kane, Troegs, Dogfish, etc. Nothing spectacular but solid. .............................................................................................................................................................................................. The service however is awful, truly awful. There was only one employee working at the time. When I came in she was finishing up a growler pour for another customer (the only one in the store at the time). When I said hello, she quite literally turned her head towards me and then said nothing. After the pour was finished, she went up to the register with the customer, ignoring me completely, chatted with her for a bit before checking her out. Meanwhile 3 other customers entered the store (again, I was there before all of them), made their selections, chatted with said terrible employee, and were checked out. I waited at the growler station for AT LEAST 15 minutes before she came over to me, with no apology, just a "what can I get you". Seemingly fitting every stereotype, the woman was texting as she filled my growler with Carton Boat Beer which shockingly completely overflowed. I’m honestly surprised she dried up the mess. I can’t stress enough how bad/rude/incompetent/insulting this employee was. If you’re in the area and looking for a growler fill, drive 10 minutes north on 35 and hit up Spirits Middletown. This was quite possibly the worst service I’ve ever gotten, in ANY retail environment.“

“The best part about the new owners of this store is they created a growler service with 32 rotating beers on tap. Carton and Kane are two of the most popular breweries on tap mainly because they are local and you can’t get them everywhere (especially bottled), though they have been gaining popularity with the help of delicious offerings like Kane’s Head High. Besides the local breweries represented there’s also a good selection of seasonals and other microbrews. The tap list changes every couple weeks which they post on their Facebook page or you can opt to join their mailing list. They offer tastings of all of their draft beers before you pick the one, or several, that you want. The store has 3 sizes of growlers to choose from- full, half, and Boston Round. The staff that I’ve spoken to (the owners) seemed knowledgeable in the beers and liquors they offer and are always helpful, even placing orders if they don’t carry something or are out of stock...as long as it’s offered by their distributors, gotta love NJ heh. They have been ever increasing their craft bottle selection as well, even found a few different meads gracing their shelves recently. I’m glad to have found this little gem around the corner after recently purchasing a house in the neighborhood, I was beginning to think I moved to craft beer wasteland. Seeing as how they just opened this summer I look forward to seeing what they bring to the craft beer table in the future.“
