“Not bad for the area. Gas station with a not too bad selection of locals, regionals, nationals and a few internationals thrown in.“

“The new and improved Galeville Grocery. Lots of good stuff here. Huge cooler, three large ikea type racks and two sides of a 15 foot shelving display. Also some floor displays. If you can’t find something here, buy something for me then!. Prices are reasonable, found some are cheaper here than other places in northern New York state.“

“This place is a convenience store/gas station located in the outskirt of Syracuse. Doesn’t look like the kind of place where you will find a great selection of craft beers but selection is quite adequate. Founders, Dogfish, Mikkeller, Firestone, Stone can all easily be found in this store. Price were fair to somewhat pricey for some of the imports but that just maybe me not being use to paying so much for imports. There was a growler station though I didn’t find that the choice was terribly exciting. I would definitely make the stop here again if I ever was in the area.“

“Formerly Galeville Grocery: For a place that is primarily a gas station and convenience store, this place does it right. Full racks of 22s, lots of craft seasonals and year-round favorites. Friendly service ay check-out as well. Well worth a stop.“

“A nice accidental find one year while on our way to Carousel Center mall to kill an evening after dinner. Really nice selection of beers in an unassuming, crammed little convenience store/redemption shop. The staff has always been pleasant, though I’ve never had need to ask for help, and there are loads of singles to be had. I usually leave with a nice haul of micros that we can’t find in my area of Vermont.“

“UPDATE: Jan. 16/2011 Stopped by here today only to see a note on the front door saying that the Grocery is closed and thank you for 60 years. Byrne Dairy to open. Literally 2 minutes from the I-81 and the Carousel Center in Syracuse. Pretty crammed grocery store that has one entire aisle devoted to micros. Impressive selection with Stone, Smuttynose, many Belgians, etc. On my way back home I picked up Stone Ruination, Arrogant Bastard, Smuttynose Maibock and Smuttonator as well as Maredsous 8 and 10. Stellar haul. Service is alright, they are extremely nice although the beer knowledge lacks, perhaps just the wrong employee when I was there. I’ll visit again. “

“An unlikely spot for some really good beers, this nondescript grocery store / lottery hub has a back area with a solid beer selection at decent prices. A lot of Belgian big bottles, sixers from California to Massachussetts and domestic 22s. If you look hard enough, you can usually find a very good deal. If you are up in Liverpool, swing by and you are almost guaranteed to find something good.“

“A cramped kind of General Store with an OK selection of room temp micros with no singles. There is not anything here that you can’t find at the Party Source or Brillbecks...both of which have a larger selection than Galeville. Park in back.“

“Great bottle shop. You would never know from the outside. It was a nice surprise for us when we were traveling. I was able to pick up somethings that I could not get here in MD. Prices were a bit higher than I was used to paying due to the bottle deposits. Would definitely stop there if I was in the area again.“

“It’s a grocery store, all right. An old one. But it’s a really cool grocery store. In truth, it’s old, the aisles are narrow, and there is no organizational system here that I can make out. But the selection is fantastic (check the website), the prices are clearly marked and quite good, and the service is friendly, fairly knowledgeable, and very helpful. (When they found out I was en route from Ontario, they comped me a 6er of Saranac!) My only complaint is that they don’t want 6ers split up. No big deal. Great place.“

“I found this place through this site. It’s a Goldmine. An old Style neighborhood grocery with narrow packed aisles. I could only carry 3 six packs to the counter, no room for carts in this place. The sixes I bought were those I had been searching for and couldn’t find anywhere else locally. The guy that checked me out was knowledgeable and friendly, gave me a copy of a beer newspaper and a list of the beers he carries. Gotta be more than a hundred of them, not including the Bud, Coors and Miller products. I gave him a good food rating because of the nice delacatessen in the store. A new stop for me whenever I go "down city."“

“We dropped in here on the way down to Ommegang. It was a small cramped grocer with a decent selection - but not enough for you to buy anything. They must have had 200 different labels yet all are distributed at Northen NY locations. I think I was interested in 2 beers but passed on them because our return trip was to take us through Rochester (Beers of the World).“

“Typical tight-alleyed convenience store with a far better than average line of products, perhaps 150-200. Good selection of american produts, few imports. I guess I’d rather encourage them than Party Source, who’s a bit stronger on belgians and weaker on americans.“

“This little grocery has probably the best beer selection in CNY for take out. Not a very large stock (compared to Party Source), but just as many local, regional, national and Belgian beers. The beer manager was very friendly and fairly knowlegable. Easy access and worth a visit. And, by the way, it’s NOT at all rural, it’s basically in the city.“

“Decent selection of California Beers (Stone, Bear Republic, Acme) with the local NE US beers. Friendly staff. Good stop if you are in Syracuse, and slightly better prices than Party Source on most beers.“

“This place isn’t too far from the carousel mall, so if you’re in town for the mall, then it might be worth a trip over. Has lots of NY macros and other off the wall stuff. Has very reasonable prices (Bombers of Unibroue at $6 a bottle, 3 philosophers bomber for $5.50). It’s a decent place with a decent selection and they have several flavors of Lindeman’s too. This place is as good as the Party Source.“
