“Place is hard to find, in an older industrial park with signage or a directory. But once you're inside you could be in jolly old England, with flags and sports regalia all around. Very friendly staff. Have never been to a place with four cask engines. About a dozen of their beers on tap, with cans available for there or to go. Good selection of British pub faire, though a little overpriced. Fortunately I was there on a Thursday where the daily special is a free cask ale with your British pie“

“Slow on a Saturday night. Good service, tasty appetizers. Parking available. Flights available. Newish construction, shiny wood, variety of high and low tables. Beer was mediocre at best, but good food and vibes were in abundance.“

“Vibrant, friendly atmosphere in this industrial park location. A steady stream of customers kept this place hopping, but service was still top notch. Interesting lineup of beers paired with some knockout food. Sleek this place out!“

“Little strip mall storefront, opens up into a much bigger space, new and polished. Long bar and table seating. 5 of their won taps, plus a good amount of regional beers and ciders. Quick friendly service. Food available. House taps were not great, sample first.“

“Newest brewery in Salem and as usual its in an awkward out of the way industrial area! This one in particular is hard to find. Eventualy i found it..small place with a few parking spaces at the end of an industrial complex. Couple of tables and a few seats..right next to the brewhouse Nice wee bar and some delightful, kind service. Only five of their own beers and i only had the porter which i have t say was very good for a start up. No food. Like most pi guess you cn take your own in. Seems dog friendly also..no minors. Overall nice relaxed place with nice people and good beer. “

“This is a new brewery in the old SAW building. Went in later in a Sunday night after all the furore of opening weekend had died down. But even on a late Sunday evening it was busy. The owner/brewer was behind the bar and he was a very nice younger man..the customers also very friendly. Same small space as SAW and brewing equipment ( tiny) was visible. Only 3 of their own beers all lower alcohol.Talking to brewer this is on purpose and i salute this attempt. The 4.2% porter was very English style and tasty for the low alcohol Nuce place lets hope they expand.“

“Went over to this place tonight..had been open for 4 or 5 days so brand new. It is located in an industrial area( like all Salem breweries) on the west side of the river. Its pretty bleak in the dark with the rain pouring down..but the brewpub itself is nice and new and open. It has that clean well light modern vibe. Nice sized bar and maybe half a dozen brightly painted picnic table in doors. They only had 5 of their own beers so far and it was a litle bit of a let down thay had no Mexican/latin lager on tap..i had the dark lager in the Czech style which was actually nice. So i have hope for the future that these guys can brew good lagers. The servers were pretty green behind the ear and i expect that to improve. Their food has garnered a great deal of praise in Salem already and it looks fantastic but i did not eat tonight. I intend to later. All in all horrible location nice space! Beers are $5 and served in a Britsih style pint glass“

“Large clean Liquor store in deepest South Salem. Beer selection is to the left when you walk in and perhaps takes up 25% of the whole store. Wall of coolers with 6/12 packs and a good selection of PNW and other bombers. Has a nice growler fill station with lots of choices and a special cooler filled with vintage beers, Service good and trying to please. Prices a bit high but not outrageous. Nice place“

“Went there just last week. Got a good deal on large wine kit. Half of on-line prices. Doug was very personable and friendly. I wonder why others don’t agree. He was very helpful and Knowledable. This is the right place if you want to brew, distill or make wine. The shop is small but organized and full of everything you would need.“

“Visited Saturday April 22 at around 4 PM while my kid and friends were whooping it up in the nearby Salem Mall. It is hidden away down one of downtown Salem’s old alleyways, These pedestrian friendly alleys are becoming a trendy resource for new "hip" small businesses as they are a fraction of the main street facing rents. Place is small from the outside..has a few picnic tables out front. Inside its low ceilinged but actually a substantial space as you go further back. It has a down home woodsy/craftsy feeling, subdued lighting but not dingy. Bar is nice..seats at the bar are nice. 32 beers/ciders on tap and this place also has a liquor license ( i was told their Moscow Mules kick ass). There is food and i am told the chef is very good. I enjoyed the service..bartenders were friendly and efficient. They have music and other things all week The bar is mostly associated with Vagabond Brewing and features a few of their beers as well as all the other Salem breweries and a few from further afield. Nice place. Will return“

“Visited here in early October ’16 on a Tuesday night. Originally the Treasury for the State of Oregon, turned into a restaurant. Tons of character and stories abound, Varied menu, plenty to choose from and a dozen or so McMenamin’s brews to chose from. The handful I had were true to style and tasty. The burger I had was top notch. For an east coast out of towner, this is an amazing place and one I would visit often if I lived in Salem.“

“Nice modern place in downtown Salem, near some good restaurants. Good selection of mainly Oregon beers,,some from the smaller , newer breweries. But they get international kegs no and again. LIke i said the space is small but modern and nicely lit. Guy behind the bar is always nice and ready to answer questions on the beer. If you want to eat there are 2 very good places on the same block. “

“Visited here in early October ’16 on a Monday evening while in the area for business. Located in an industrial/warehouse type area, but once inside, nice and warming. Unpretentious decor, big TV for watching football, a few game tables and darts. Blue collar crowd, friendly and talkative, Large selection of their beers - close to 20 from all ranges of styles available in many sizes, the several that I had were top notch, Reasonable prices as well. If in Salem, seek this place out.“

“Visited on 10th November 2014. Stopped off on the way back from Corvalis for dinner, thanks to Endo for the ride. A medium sized brewpub with the brewing gubbins on display. Place was busyish but we got a table. 10 beers on offer and the standard mix of good styles and not so good. Beer was OK. Food OK. Service decent. Not one I’d rush back to.“

“Small store with a fairly small selection of brews. A few oddball brews. Prices are less than most places, so that’s something. Bombers seem to be a buck or more less than I usually see around. Nice guy behind the counter.“

“One word: EXCELLENCE. What a great atmosphere. Early Americana décor. Exquisite beer, wine, mixologist mixes, and the coffee (roasted on location) is great. There is a great energy here that invites all to enter. A must try, and inevitable re-turn. The menu of 8 beers on tap is revolving, maintained by Brent.“

“Good sized beer store. Like a small market really. Was pretty surprised at the amount of brews here. Huge selection. Thing seem fairly fresh, but can’t be positive on some of the stuff. “Visited for dinner around 7pm on Monday 10/11/14. Moderately sized venue with brewkit on display around the side. Open plan and single roomed the place was pretty busy with evening diners although we bagged a table no problems. There were 10 beers on tap during our visit one or two decent offerings, one or two generic brewpub blahs - my ratings averaged at 3.01 which was pretty low when measured across the board but if you avoid the terminally dull lager, the hefe and the mamba I imagine this score will shoot up somewhat. Dinner here was OK, my fries were a little cold, that borderline temperature where you consider sending them back but can’t be bothered waiting. Burger was OK but no great. In all the food was a miss, I wouldn’t plan at eating here again. Overall I wouldn’t plan a trip out here, neither the overall quality of food or beer warrants a special visit. We were passing by on a road trip from Corvalis back to PDX so it fitted our plans.“

“B2 stands for Brian and Barb who are a great couple that take their customer service seriously and manage to learn the names of all their customers. The place is packed Fridays after work with several high tables to sit at, free popcorn or pretzels, Flatscreens on all walls to watch the game, and food trucks serving food, and outdoor seating. If anything this place needs more space for seating. 32 taps with wide variety. Nice bar decor on the walls and very small bar seating area.“

“Another great Taproom on the Salem scene. This one is located at the back of a strip mall off Mission Street. Lovely place inside, superior décor and furniture. loads of room for groups. Dart boards. etc. Service was a little slow as I was just in for a pint and they had a few growlers to fill. But very pleasant servers. Great selection over 30 taps. Nice electronic tap board too. No food but no dount they can get a food cart to come around now and again, plus there is a sub shop near by. Good value my pint seemed fresh and well kept. Nice place will visit again. “

“Reminds me of a place in my hometown. Hole in the wall convenience store, except for the fact that they have a remarkable beer selection. They do try to cater to both the craft beer drinker as well as the macro drinker, so you’ll see a lot of 6/12/24 packs and macros. But the craft selection is nice, and you can find several new things you haven’t seen before. If you’re in Salem for a trip, this is a great place to stop to pick up some bottles.“

“Stopped in for dinner while on a business trip. The place is kinda in the middle of nowhere, but it works - it sits right on a creek, with the patio looking out over it. Inside, there is a lot of wood, and it’s very clean and gorgeous. It even has a classy old-world feel. The food is pretty decent - no complaints. Service isn’t bad, either; I got everything I needed without having to wait. My complaint was the beer - I tried all eight of their drafts, and while a couple were pretty decent, most were disappointing. Overall, nothing really stuck out as being a fantastic beer.“
