“I must have drove by this place a 100 times and did not know it was there. Cool building and open inside - although there seems to be wasted space with not many places to sit (but not sure how that can be rearranged). Average to below average beers. Nice people though ... when I cashed out on credit card, there was no place to tip and asked how I time - they said they are the owners, so no tips are necessary ...“

“Next to the bar .... take out window with a strong smell of fried chicken... odd setup with a bunch of old noisy plug in coolers ... the store is very spread out .... they have some areas with rhyme or reason (countries mostly), but then their craft beer is spread out and definitely a place where you have to look through every bottle ..... some of the harder to find stock was priced cheap and some common stuff was expensive, but I walked out with some decent brews ..... not a bad place considering the area, but I wouldn’t seek it out“

“Small for a "grill", but decent sized for a bar, filled with locals ... food looked good ... booth and table seating with a rectangular bar .... sports on TV’s all around the bar ... tap list was mostly IPA heavy .... bottle list was limited .... cheap prices and staff was somewhat knowledgeable .... Hadn’t heard much about this place ... now i know why“

“This is for the bottle shop itself, not the bar. The selection is one of the better ones in the area with several one-off kind of offerings occasionally. They finally closed off the windows which may have damaged beer in the past and skunked it so all should be better with the world there, something Wegman’s up the road has not figured out yet, and the prices at the bottle shop are usually far better than the supermarket offering. Selection is less than distributor B&B but on par with World of Wines in Lambertville NJ. All in all a real plus to the craft drinkers in the area and well worth a look, and let’s hope they keep the windows dark.“

“First time in the store. Was very impressed. The selection of beer was fantastic. And the associates that work there are very knowledgable. Will definitely be going back in the near future.“

“They just remold end and expanded! Selection rivals the Beer Store in Southampton but the prices are way cheaper and service was very helpful and not snobby like Southampton. Single selection and the mix a six specials are a dream come true. I officially love this place!“

“OLD BEER WARNING. I’m revising my previous review to say that 6 out of 12 beers that I bought from this store were noticeably old and cooked to the point that I think it’s rude that they were on the shelf.

Wow...I really dug this place and stumbled into it accidentally. I hate to say, I actually preferred this to The Beer Store as a to-go beer shop, because the singles selection was so much better. Pretty much everything was available a single, which rocked my world. The prices were higher on premium singles, but the mix-a-six selection, available at $10 and $12 was very decent and much, much better than Wegman’s or the Beer Store. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful and the selection up to date and well curated.“

“Although this is not the typical watering hole I would have ever considered myself frequenting a few years ago, I decided to give the Candlewyck a chance upon the relentless insistence of one of my valued acquaintances. Let me just say, I am so glad I did, because I stumbled upon what may be considered, the best selection of craft beers in a 30 mile radius. Were it not for beer, my existence might be relegated to something vapid and inane, but the big guy who works behind the counter turned me on to the Elysian Valhalla red IPA, the Hoppin’ to Heaven IPA, the Big Head Stout... and it’s been love ever since. With him or the beer, I am still trying to decide, but I digress... check it out if you need a few enticing and exciting choices to bring along to your next get together. Although the outside may not garner a second glance from an onlooker, I urge you to take a walk inside and discover nothing short of a treasure trove!“

“Listen this place is all about the beer store, the selection is bar none and the staff knows what they’re talking about (ask for Ryan). Every time they’ve suggested a brew to me they’ve changed my perspective on beer (and I mean that in the best way possible). The bar/dining area serves a mean cheesesteak if your hungry and you’ll also be able to hold a conversation without being drowned out by obnoxious drunks or rowdy college kids. Do yourself a favor and go pickup a sixer or two, you won’t regret it.“

“I’ve eaten in the restaurant and it’s standard bar fare served by the same waitresses who’ve been here 30 years. Allowed smoking in the bar, but I’ve heard they stopped. Bottle shop is actually far better than expected. Not anything all that unusual, but a lot of old favorites and it’s more convenient than bootlegging in from Jersey. Don’t go by their published list. What’s actually in stock is hit or miss, but you can normally find some respectable options. They’re also kind enough to break the room into three sections -- macroswill, craft and belgians which makes the hunt a little easier. Not a bad place to stop for a convenient emergency sixer or two.“

“Outstanding selection especially for a place nearly an hour outside of Philly. Wish I’d known about this place sooner. What impressed me most was not the breadth of brewers represented but rather the depth of beers available from each brewer, e.g. Paulaner, Rogue, Sierra Nevada, etc. They will let you pull singles selectively (always a plus).“

“Don’t get me wrong I shop here alot, but lately the selection of Belgians seems to be pretty pedestrian. Lots of stuff from Van Steenburg, that’s good stuff, but I can buy it by the case up the road at B & B for a lot less. They are howevr getting in more bombers and it is the only place I’ve seen anything by Fantome in PA“

“I can’t belive how close I lived to this place and never knew about the selection. The inside is just a corner deli look until you step into the side open door and see about 16+ coolers with singles and six packs. Jolly Pumpkin, Rogue, Nogne Ø, Lots of Belgians and Germans along with alot of micros. Prices are very resonable and there were some real nice finds for the prices.“

“Considering the location, this place is really good. Nice selection of Belgians, so/so with American micros. Prices are pretty good for the area, and it is the only place within a good drive where you can get singles. Friendly staff, though beer section is isolated from convenience store so not much help, but no one bothers you either. Worthwile stop if you are in the area.“

“A surprisingly decent selection of beers. Good variety of Belgians as well as some different US beers. Prices were reasonable. It is always a plus to find a place in PA that sells singles!!!“

“A solid beer store with a decent beer selection in the middle of the PA wasteland (in terms of small packages of good beer). Beer is available in singles and six-packs. Selection includes a variety of Belgians (Achel, Rochefort, Fantome, etc), Three Floyds, DFH (including 750s), Weyerbacher, Victory, Troegs, and others plus some German and other imports. Price markup is generally reasonable, given PA restrictions. Not far from Triumph New Hope.“

“This place is great. They sell singles which is a huge plus, and the prices are actually pretty cheap. They had about 8 different rogue bombers all for about $4.50 each. They also had a few 750’s of some rare belgain beer which I had never seen before so I obviously picked up a few. I also ate at the little bar/restaurant which is kinda attached and the food was pretty good, and they had a couple good micros on tap- hjopdevil and stoudts winter.“

“Lots of imports with emphasis on Belgians and Germans. Very impressive selection of American Macros. Well lit and well organized. Everything is in coolers. Definitely worth the trip if there’s a bottle you want to try and don’t want to commit to the whole case. PA case laws SUCK but this little take out store ROCKS!“

“This place is great. I didn’t hit up the seedy dive bar part of this little strip of stores, but the beer store adjoining the deli was totally worth the effort I spent finding this, after my brother noticed it as a potential cigarette stop (he just smokes them organic hippie ones) on our way to a motel. After a lot of looking a couple of hours later (the roads in this area are rather confusing for out-of-towners, be warned) we found it. This was last summer, and they had most of a case of Unibroue 10 sitting in the cooler. Rather expensive at $9 apiece, but where else could you get it? Not in Montreal anymore, nor Boston or anywhere else in New England that I was aware of. Stone 7th, also, and lots of other oddities. Service was certainly nothing special, and prices overall not much better than in Philly, but if you’re in the touristy New Hope/Doylestown area looking for beer this might be your best bet.“
