“Came here 1.11.2017 after visiting the restaurant next door. Small beer shop with a good selection of mainly PA beers, almost no international ones. A lot of brewery variety packs (Weyerbacher, Ballast Points, etc.). For sure worth a stop.“

“Came here on 1.11.2017. Small restaurant next to the beer store. 10 beers on tap including some mainstream. Highlight was the Sunday Morning Stout of Weyerbacher. Food was just ok and service slow and weird. Not worth a detour just if you pass by.“

“Sweet some mix 6 packs. Right next to the case only joint score for me. Only had a few minutes to look around but the guy behind the counter was very helpful. He even hooked me up with some club only bottles since I was visiting from across the country.“

“Pulled in really quick just to see what was on the shelf. Man I hate PA and the bs beer laws case stuff wow what a pain. Typical beer warehouse lots of cases of beer and nice craft selection I will have to say. But traveling and just wanting to get ticks not very convenient.“

“Second go to store for me in my current locale. This place is well kept and always has a quick friendly service. Though I haven’t had any of the food yet, every time I’m in, I see others eating and am enthralled by the looks and smells of the sandwiches. One of these days, I’m gonna spring for one of those sandwiches. There’s a vast array of bottles on the shelf, ranging from local PA stuff to national and even European brews, the classics such as Weihenstephaner, Frankishaner, Spaten, Samuel Smith and a brewery from Iceland (sorry I forgot the name of it). The value seems reasonable for the SE PA area. Yup, I dig this place as I go there every so often.“

“Fairly typical PA beer store except this one has more craft beer and located prominently in the front of the store. Prices seemed reasonable, but you have to really love a beer to get a whole case of it though I was tempted by the case of Weihenstephaner Hefe they had.“

“Located just east of Hershey, it’s certainly an interesting drive from suburban sprawl to pastoral beauty to typical PA small town in less than 10 miles. The building is plot between the deli/bottle shop and the beer case store. The deli is relatively small with craft singles lining the shelves along the left side with a few coolers in the back. It’s an interesting shop that has a lot of typical things plus a few gems like Deschutes and Lost Abbey which aren’t exactly available in great quantities around here. The food was ok which is fine. The prices are really high for bottles but buying 6 or more gives you a 25% discount which makes the prices mor reasonable. It’s a solid shop and a pretty good local for such a small town.“

“I was taking the scenic route from Harrisburg to Philadelphia and needed to grab some lunch so I made sure to time my arrival to the Brass Rail with lunchtime. Small little shop located in the same building as their distributor shop. a few coolers line the back wall and the left of the shop is lined with warm shelving for singles. A decent selection of Belgians, German, British beers as well as a nice selection of American brews. Six taps that you can get as samples, pints, or growlers. They have some odd pricing listed on the growlers (a buck extra for "guest" growlers, a buck more for non-translucent growlers) but the lady that rang up my guest growler didn’t charge me that buck so I’m not sure why they list those things. Anyhow, I snagged a mixed six pack (25% off when you get a mixed six- solid deal) and a growler of Springhouse Big Gruesome. Very friendly ladies working behind the counter. I got there shortly after 11 on a Thursday and it was rather empty, but by the time I left it was really filling up with the lunch crowd. My sandwich was sub-par. I would not eat here again. Had the Chicken Parm and nothing about it was really worth getting again. I would recommend this place as a place to get a sixer or a growler, though. Also a nice place to have a quiet pint with a buddy or two. Overall a real nice place.“

“One of the better distributors I’ve been to in Pa. Well light, didn’t feel like a dingy warehouse, and well organized. Plenty of craft and import offerings. Lots of the normal stuff, lots of locals, and some of the harder to get stuff. They have a cold room in the back with a fair amount of cold craft cases, too. Service was friendly and attentive. Would stop in if I pass thru the area again.“

“I have been in here a few times now, figured it was time for a review. Upon entering you see all the racks of beer laid out in front of you, with the registers to your right. Vibe is pretty good, as is the service, with a few people around to answer any questions you may have. Quality has always been pretty good. I have only ever seen one or two out of date cases on the shelves. The selection has always been very good, although not as good as Westy’s. They have quite a few exclusives, such as Founders, that nobody else can get. Prices are on-par or slightly above the areas average. Overall a really solid distributor that I will continue to visit when I am in the area.“

“Moving recently from the Philly area i realized how spoiled with craft beer selection I had been. After a few months in the Harrisburg area, I finally found out about the Brass Rail Deli. They have a decent, yet not large selection of domestic and foreign singles available. My favorite is the six rotating taps. You can purchase growlers, pints and/or samples. The coolest part is that Sisco promises not to repeat a beer within a year. So the variety stays fresh.“

“What a great little place. Sisco is a good guy and the selection of beer is very good, even tho most of it is a tad over priced...You can always buy a mix 6 pack and get the 25% discount but sometimes you don’t want that much and the prices get to you. They have 6 taps of high quality beer flowing at all times with the prices for a Sample, Pint, and Growler clearly marked on the wall board. The food is pretty good but some of my sandwiches have been a bit lackluster. Service is also very good and very knowledgeable. Overall it is one of the better bottle shops in the area. Worth a visit for sure.“

“Places like the Brass Rail help take the pain out of the stupidity that are PA beer laws. Very good prices on very good beers. Just beware that they don’t have a lot of room on the floor so if you don’t see what you are looking for, or if you need more cases of something be sure to ask the employees. Only annoying thing is the need to provide ID and info if buying more than 4 cases. Fortunately you only have to fo this once. Lot’s of Bell’s, Founder’s, Trappist Ales, Terrapin, Troeg’s, Weyerbacher, North Coast, Lost Abbey, Pizza Port and other well rated North American brews to be found here. I think the prices/selection for the ares make it a worthwhile stop when in the area. Affiliated deli next door has singles, sixes and subs to go. “

“Great food. The best wings anywhere. The draft beer offerings change on a rather frequent schedule. Cisco and his employees are top notch. Lots of bottle beer to choose from but my only complaint is, it doesn’t change much and they seldom have the hard to find beers which I am always seeking.“

“The Brass Rail Deli is where it is at if you would like a large selection of bottles. Always 6 beers on tap that are constantly rotating. 25% off singles when buying 6 or more.“

“A great place to go if you want to try several different singles; as they let you buy single bottles and offer a discount if you buy 6. They have a nice selection of imported beers that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I’ve never bought beers on tap there, but a buddy of mine says they have a nitrogen tap system that I’d like to try sometime.....“

“Right beside the Brass Rail Deli, which is becoming a regular spot for me, I had to take a walk and check out the case store. Very nice layout with the export and micro brews in their own area, separated from the macro stuff. They have a very good selection of the rarer and more expensive beers, and their prices reflect that. There was only one staff member around and they asked if I needed help, the store was not at all busy. It is a small place, but they have a good selection. It’s all cases, if you want singles and sixers, walk next door.0“

“Another find for beer and a real great selection at that! Some great craft beer on tap as well. Food was good, friendly service, clean and quiet. Many import and craft beers to chose from however prices are high. Nice to have another place to find some extraordinary stuff.“

“This place is an excellent addition to the local beer scene. The have an excellent selection of bottles, some of which are not easy to come by, and six rotating craft taps. Cisco, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable about craft beer. Food is standard deli fare though it is an interesting take on the bottle shop/restaurant combo. Most other places serve only greasy subs while all the ingredients used here are fresh and at least semi-healthy. The fries were very good. Also worth noting is that it is very clean compared to other bottle shops in the area. The only downside is that the prices are relatively high.“

“Nice place, lots of bottles in a nice setup, didn’t get to eat there, but looks like they have deli sandwiches, about 6 beers on tap that were all pretty exotic, prices not the greatest, but I’ve seen worse.“

“I thought this was a pretty awesome place, I think that 60+ bottles is a little conservative, I think its probably more like 100+. I saw a good selection of fairly rare beers for this area, just a ton of stuff that you don’t normally find in PA. Expect to pay bottle shop prices here, which is a downside, but I think the selection makes up for it. I did not try the food, but it looks like standard deli fare, nothing special. The place is clean and smoke free and they have a nice HD TV in there. I think I saw six taps as well, with some interesting things on tap. Pretty sweet...I’ll be back definately. Update: The food is excellent but a little pricey. The guy that runs the shop Cisco, is an awesome dude that really knows his beer. The only downside to brass rail is that it is expensive for everything, but the quality is excellent.“

“This may be the best selection in Central PA. It is in the same building as Brass Rail Beverage, in PA this means cases only. But the Deli has singles, sixes, and even a few on tap. My Saturday AM visit was fine but the service was slow. The prices are outrageous but I suppose that is the surcharge for being so far removed from a sizable urban area. I will go back but only as my budget allows.“

“All three people I encountered here were very friendly and eager to help. I told them just how painfully new I was/am to decent beer, and two guys tagteamed me, spending 10-15 mins answering questions and pointing things out. Quite impressed.“

“This by far the best distributor in Lebanon County. They have a great selection with a surprisingly high turnover of American micros and imports given the area. Very nice selection including: Founders (Centennial IPA, Breakfast Stout, Blushing Monk, etc), Hoppin’ Frog (Black and Tan, BORIS, Hoppin’ to Heavin, Mean Manalishi), Bell’s (Expedition, Two Hearted, Hop Slam, etc), Stone (Ruination, IPA, RIS), Moylans, DFH, Victory, etc. Great selection of imports and Belgians. As has already been said, lots of parking, clean, very helpful and knowledgeable staff.“

“Very nicely arranged case shop, almost in the middle of nowhere (but quite close to Hershey). Excellent selection of U.S. and foreign micros, including Founders, Bells, Stone, DFH, Hoppin Frog, etc., plus a lot of lesser-known mid-Atlantic cases. Trappist selection is solid. Very helpful staff, clean store, and plenty of parking. Glassware and t-shirts and such as well. You can tell the people here know what they’re doing, and micros seem to take preference over macros (front of the store, high visibility and turnover). No rare finds (the place is only three years old), but a great place to buy current releases. Highly recommended.“

“They have a very wide selection of micro’s and imports. Also has a list of the top 100 beers with RateBeer.com as a factor. Plenty of other information to complement their selection. Fairly knowledgable employees, and will give sample bottles of various is available. They have beer samplings every thursday. Clean, bright, friendly.“
