“Large place, just outside of downtown, free off street parking. Nice reuse of an old factory. Decor matches, wood and steel. Bar and many tables, upstairs game area. Nice vibe, relatively quiet on a Saturday morning.“

“Stopped here on way home from lancaster. Hard to find a decent place to buy mixed sixes of singles in this area. Good selection of singles and the mixed sixpacks are only $11.99. Even after 8K ratings, easily found 6 beers I've never tasted before. They also have a very good deli section where you can get all kinds of freshly cooked food and fried chicken. Wife also got some good deals on kombucha. Service was very friendly.“

“We came here in 8.12.2019. A butchery with a small bar serving Voodoo beers from Pittsburgh. Unique ambiance! You can have good beers and watch the butchers cutting meat. We know their beers from Pittsburgh, were really good!“

“We came here on 10.3.2019. Openend a few months ago, located very centrally in Lancaster. On the left side a Mexican restaurant and on the right side a nice small cinema. All of them in strong cooperating. You can bring the beers or food to each of these place. Very friendly service. We received free samples of almost all of their beers. 16 beers on tap. I had a Caffe Breve Milk stout, which was excellent. Very good addition to Lancaster’s beer scene. We will come back for sure in summer enjoying their outside patio.“

“A massive warehouse-style space with an interesting menu and taplist. Worth checking out if you are in the area. Most of the beer menu included styles thinking outside the box. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful.“

“Nice brewpub in an old industrial building in downtown Lancaster. Well worth the stop if you are in the area. They had a pretty decent selection of beers and they were all decent. None were really great, but all were decent. Food was fairly good. It was very busy when we visited, but the service was still good.“

“I really liked the look of the place - casual little bar in an out of the way (up an alley) location. Inside there are dart boards and a cozy, comfortable pub. The space is shared with a distillery. They did have some food offerings (mainly dogs and brats), but we didn't try any. The beers were all just ok at best. I only tried a sampler - I don't think I would have really enjoyed a full pint of any of them. None of them were bad, just mediocre and mostly beer styles that I don't really care for.“

“Been here a handful of times in the past 16 months. Its definitely a beery hipstery place. Small but cozy with an old wood burning heater. Brick wall and triangular space. Specializes in thin crust pizza with lots of extras on it and hot dogs. The pizza looks better than the taste for me but I am very picky about pizza. About 10 drafts that come in different sizes and are reasonably priced for your current times. The selection often leans hoppy but they try to diversify. Seems like some Tired Hands beer is often on tap. Bottle selection is medium-large. The biggest downside is prices, even for PA. They are about twice that of Maryland, which makes it about 20% more expensive than similar places. However, they have some PA stuff that I don't seem around my usual hangout in Lancaster County. Young people, often hipstery looking, behind the bar. I would definitely recommend coming here since its right across from a meadery and just down the road from Iron Hill and Hunger&Thirst, a little nexus of craft. But I would not recommend buying bottles to go.“

“I've been to this place 3 times in the past 2 years. Iron Hill places are all very chain looking and very similar to each other. So, it very much looks like Newark or Wilmington. Large space, large dishes, large menu, large tap selection, and meant to look slightly modern. I generally find the food across these locations to be very chainy. Large menus so you will likely find something you like but feel you got more quantity than quality and that you paid a little more than it was worth. Beer wise, as per the other locations, it really depends on the brewer for each location and it seems there is turnover. But in the past 2 years, the 3 times I visited I've had mixed results. The cool thing is this location seems to love pepper casks. I've enjoyed those.“

“Came here on 2.12.2017. Located in the center of Lancaster next to the market hall. The layout is not really suitable for a bar, is more typical for a shop. Also decoration is not really helping the ambience. Beers are absolutely ok. Had a Grapefruit Pale Ale.“

“If you like sitting in a big old barn like factory tasting an awesome variety of finished, quality beers, then you will need to come here. Located on the southern tip of the city, in a residential area, south of the downtown. Plenty of parking. I did not try their food, but they offer some great oysters, salads, and even a veggie ravioli. They have an outstanding sound system and they were playing James Brown. After having one of their Skull Chocolate Stouts, I was fixin to get up and dance. This is not a place to just drop by to mark off another place visited after tasting a beer. This is a place to sip and to linger. Bring some friends and go upstairs, above the tanks and check out their awesome arcade.“

“Came here 14.10.2017. Nice bottle shop serving Pizzas and 8 draft beers. Selection is ok, some West Coast beers, a few bottles from Belgium and some locals. I had a West Coast IPA from Green Flash. Liked the dark ambience and the decoration. Friendly service! Pizza's smelled delicious, will taste next time. Good place.“

“Came here 14.10.2017. Like the set up. Brewery directly behind the bar, high ceiling and red brick walls, really good ambience. On a Saturday afternoon they had an entertaining live band. The brewhouse was decorated for Halloween - spider webs, etc. looked quite good. Service was just ok, not super friendly. Tried the Seven Gates Pale Ale, which was ok and a nice Pumpkin Ale. Had a Chili which was very hot therefore not ideal to taste the beers. “

“This place is really hard to find at night. It's in a building across the street from the Fridge. But once you find it the taproom, despite is small size, is gorgeously rustic and comfortable. They had 8 meads and couple of beers on tap. The mead was solid with a couple of really good exceptions. A lot of the flavor combinations had the sense of throwing things together to see what sticks. Hopefully they'll be more settled in what they do in time. Still it's a cool way to spend a couple of hours in Lancaster.“

“Located somewhere in Lancaster in pre-gentrified neighborhood. It's a beautiful old ware house with a fair amount of parking. Lots of room inside with a taproom on the bottom and a separate games area on the 2nd floor. The beers are fairly solid with their infused stouts the most interesting. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area.“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Inside a building that seems like it only houses AllState. But, yes, across the street from the Fridge. So, a 2fer. Wooden tables and brick walls. Small bar, mostly for ordering. They had 8 meads on tap including one mead firkin. One bottle available for sale but pricy ($24). Additionally, they had 2 local beers on tap but 8 meads was enough for me. Workers were very friendly and knowleddgeable. I was the only one in there for about 20 minutes. Free pretezels and oyster crackers but no other food. They fill up 500mL bottles or Yowlers at reasonable prices for mead (low to mid teens). Meads ranged from dry to sweet, all had adjuncts but they said they are actually working on a traditional mead. With 8 meads, I am sure at least one will appeal to every RB (if they like mead). I think I would recommend visiting this meadery over any brewery in Lancaster. I will be back.“

“This is a really nifty cozy place. In a corner building across from the Fridge. Tables are really something, tree trunks and ruff cut ripped wood tor the tops. So friendly. Smallish but the layout and style makes up for it. This place was a little different than your typical brewpub, all they serve here is variations of mead, no beer but they had over 9 of their own brews on tap. These guys are really into mead. Its family friendly as well. Yes, a totally cool lancaster experience, stop by if you are near. They even had some games, many in the viking feel. For a sampler, you get 4 quite large drafts of mead for $12. This is undoubtedly the best mead brewpub I’ve been to. Their ginger mead was pretty darn good.“

“I believe this is the largest and original brewpub of the Iron Hill chain. Also, the only one I have ever visited. Was here twice and both times, pretty crowded with a service that seemed okay. Beers are reasonably priced to the level of their quality. My mushroom cheeseburger was damn good. I don’t mind Iron Hill, but not really a spectacular place or place to look for "beer whales," it’s all their beers anyways.“

“Loved the building, very old barn/warehouse look and feel with an old elevator parking lot was very small .... really came for the food since most of the brews are readily available in my area ... wasn’t disappointed they have a solid food offering and great wait staff ... the beers are slightly above average and sessionable .... they had a few offerings on tap I had no seen before and they were typical to the rest of their usual brews solid and decent .... would definitely stop here again for brews and grub“

“Came here right after visiting the Central Market which is right next door .... looks like it was part of a small indoor mall at one time .... Decent stop to have a brew, but nothing more really .... it was after lunch time on a Friday and dead ... so was the staff .... not very talkative and didn’t seem motivated ... the restaurant/taproom a few miles away would be a way better trip than here .... one and done on the beer which was average“

“Quite the hipster place. Down an alley, parking spaces are marked for various businesses, so you have to pay attention or get towed. Inside is a distillery undergoing construction, a cocktail bar, and then the beer bar; brewery is downstairs. I was the only customer, but servers were a bit aloof, too cool to chat I guess. Beers seemed like extract kit beers. Fortunately they were just 3 ounce pours, and were only a buck each. Small prep area for brats and tacos etc. Only if you’re passing by.“

“Neat old building, looks lived in and well worn. Nice odd shaped copper top and wooden bar. Brewhouse off to one side. Lots of seasonal offerings, some of which were tasty enough, nothing overly exciting. Decent app specials during happy hour. Servers seemed a bit busy but were friendly enough. Parking lot is small and often full, and there’s not much street parking. A decent stop if you’re in the general area.“

“What a gorgeous setup. Brewhouse right in the middle, bar directly in front of it with no glass or anything to separate you from the action. Fermenters behind. Upper level for overflow. Brewer was just finishing a batch, so the place smelled great. Nice selection of seasonal stuff that was very different from what I had on my last visit to the brewpub downtown. Good service, tasty beers. Bottles and cans available in addition to flights and full pours. $3 oysters and a variety of other tasty food items. Large parking lot out front. Great stop.“

“In a small industrial building in a residential neighborhood. Very limited street parking. Inside is a tiny tasting bar, brewery is through a door on one side, and there’s an extra room with some couches and chairs on the other. Sadly, there only tap was out the day I visited, making this the only brewery tap I’ve visited in recent memory that had no draft beer. They did have about a dozen bottles, so I bought a sampling. Tried one later that night and it had lots of faults. but that’s just a sample size of one. More news soon.“

“Was staying at the hotel just up the block and had a little bit of time to kill before I had to go across the street. Place was packed on a Friday night, but I found some room at the bar for the 10-beer taster flight. Lots of seasonal beers on tap. Some strange, but almost all were good or great.“

“Visited on a Wednesday evening. Big open bar with some high tops. Lots of space for a bar only, no food. Had 12 beers on tap, only 3 of them were under 8%. But many just different treatments, like a coffee version. Got all 12 for a $14 sampler. Had 4 different bombers on tap as well, 9.50 each. Decent amount of people for a Wed evening. Service was fine. Music wasn’t too loud. Free wifi, next door to a cigar bar. Also, right in the center of Lancaster, near the central market. Parking seems to all be paid only around. I would visit again if I were in Lancaster but wouldn’t head there otherwise.“

“Visited: 8/17/15 Ambiance: This is the 4th IH that I have visited and probably the largest one. They have a really good sized dining area and large bar area that can hold at least 20 patrons at the bar. Place was very clean. Service: The service was about as good as you would get any chain, no personality, timely but nothing exceeding expectations. Our server wasn’t knowledgeable about their beer when asked about the IBUs on their IPA. Selection: Typical array of styles with 6-7 flagship beers on tap then another 4 different beers for their location, which included an IPA, Strawberry Witbier, Pumpkin Stout and Rauch. Beers were average, nothing bad but nothing to seek out Food: Decent, wife got a salad, I got a burger, kid got pizza, nothing flashy but cooked well and served timely. Value: A bit over priced for the quality of beer and food, especially for this area. Their price structure does not vary with the area, thus making this location over priced. Overall, a good enough place to stop when in the area and you have a family. Bigger food selection than Spring House and better beer selection than Lancaster Brewing.“

“To get around the PA laws, single bottle beer shops in PA need to sell food as well. This place, The Fridge, does a fantastic job to cater to both. Bottles range from larger companies such as Oskar Blues, Lagunitas, Southern Tier and Sierra Nevada to so local such as Fetish, Free Will, Troeg’s and Victory. The food is always good here and for being in the downtown area of Lancaster the value is good for what it is. If you’re in the area, check it out, its just down the street where the Barnstormers play baseball.“

“Don’t let the current picture fool you -- it’s not located in the middle of a bustling city of three or four million. I believe this is the fifth or sixth IH I’ve visited and it probably has the largest footprint, also seemed unusually busy. Food and service were, as is usual with the chain, just wonderful, and the tap list likewise large. I visited for expanded Oktoberfest menus, and the Hackbraten and German beers did not disappoint. Would happily work it into regular rotation if I lived closer.“

“This place is right next to the local market in its historic building, which fortunately was closed so we found parking in the alley between the pub and the market itself. The pub has large glass windows, a long bar, and shuffleboard, not to mention an old timey carnival gypsy on the way to the restrooms. The beers were tasty and creative. Food was fairly limited, but tasty as well. Staff said that although the brewery itself, about ten miles southwest, is no longer open for tours, but plans are in the works for a restaurant/taproom at the brewery site. Would love to return for more of these beers.“
