88 /100 2017 W STATE ST E So, this smallish quaint place is one of the most friendly, helpful and knowledgeable beer tasting venues around. I've been wanting to try this brewer since they opened to serve beer a while ago but my attempts were regularly thwarted by covid restrictions. In reality, this cool place started out as a brewing equipment supply store and using their gained knowledge skills and abilities, they started brewing their own line of beers. I really like brewers who are talkative and knowledgeable without being arrogant, and this couple personifies that. The beers were well made and they even had some where they added their own touch to the recipe to create some tasty unique brews. They also had an on site brewed cider and seltzer. I really enjoyed my visit here and if there is anything that bugged me, just barely, was the cost of the flights. For 6 samples the cost was almost $20. But I must say, the experience was worth it and croakers didn't cause inflation, Biden did! |
86 /100 3009 WILMINGTON ROAD Bar has dim lights and this place seems high end. Waited for bar tenders to wait on me 27 taps including 7 house beers of there own. Plenty of parking here. I didn't have food but it looks really good. 5-7 Dollars a beer here. Nice place to relax and have a beer. Cheers! |
72 /100 3009 WILMINGTON ROAD On route 18 north of New Castle. I drove right by this place the first time around because I didn't know the Crane Room was CR brewing. Once inside its a darker place with a bar. The bar, mind you, is really cool. Lots of old ruff-tuff hand tools embedded in the top of the bar for you to look at, neat. Yes, this is your typical Beaver County eatery with the plus of making their own beers. The service was very friendly. We had a sampler of all 7 of their beers for $15. Most of them were on style and not bad. We also had the quite affordable blackened chicken wraps and they were good. Overall decent beer rating experience and everything is a very good value. |
84 /100 Mister B’s (Beer Store) 2710 MERCER RD. They moved to another location. Combination of lunchroom and beer store. Great selection and !!! they sell single bottles. Found quite a few new US beers to be added to the list. Reasonable priced too. Came during lunchtime and staff was too busy with that to help out with some requests, not unwilling, just no time. Had a sandwich, OK. |
72 /100 Mister B’s (Beer Store) 2710 MERCER RD. Great selection of beers. A definite must stop if you are ever through NC. Will make a stop here when I get back in town. |
72 /100 Mister B’s (Beer Store) 2710 MERCER RD. Well, I wasn’t expecting much of a place by the looks of it from the outside. It’s located in a strip mall of sorts. Once inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the organization and the choice of brews. They do have lots of macro stuff here but they also have 3+ coolers of craft & import bottles from which you can make a six pack from. I have difficulty at my local bottle shop finding new brews but here I easily made a sixer out of beers I’ve never tasted. Very friendly and knowledgable girls to elp also. I didn’t get any food, but there there is a to go grill in the back if you want some wings or burgers or stuff. Good experience, never thought I’d find a place like this in New Castle. Oh, yea. Did I mention the prices were quite nice too? |
70 /100 Mister B’s (Beer Store) 2710 MERCER RD. Well, for a place in PA where you can buy singles for fairly reasonable prices, this is one of very few options. It has the requisite restuarant features so they can sell beer, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone walk away with food. They recently redid a bunch of the store (err restuarant?) and there are lots of coolers now. Most have 12 packs of Bud Lite and kin, but there is a row with singles that range from $1 each to $2. Most are priced at $1.50 and you can find Bells, Victory, Dogfishhead, and some local stuff in the mix. They also have a few larger bombers or more rare stuff, but those are so hit or miss that I wouldn’t count on it. |
