“decent selection that is way over priced. Place NEVER answers their phone so you can’t even inquire as to what is in stock. If you don’t live close don’t waste your time on a trip“

“Located behind the main street in town, which is easier to access by the back street parking lots, IN is a rustic looking spot inside. The food is quite adequate pub style and the beer selection is more than adequate for anyone. They have the occasional multiple tapping days which can get brutally crowded, but a great oasis of beer selection with a very knowledgeable staff.“

“Had a really great meal here while meeting up with an old friend. The wings were awesome and the draft list is very good. The place was jammed packed and our waitress was still cheerful, talkative and on the ball. The bottle list is pretty solid as well. The beer manager clearly knows what they are doing. I will return the next time I am in town. Recommended for sure.“

“Good draft list - definitely the best variety you are going to find in the area. Service is fairly lousy but you shouldn’t let that deter you from sampling their extensive tap and bottle list.“

“A big, busy, popular pub with an attractive atmosphere. I liked the low-key lighting and the comfortable, older furniture. Despite its location in what appears to be a modern building, the place has a nice, traditional look. There is an outdoor deck as well as a barroom and a dining area. On the night I visited there were a few hard to find brews on tap. The service was friendly, and the turkey burger I had was fine, but the Belgian fries were just American style fries served with a mayonnaise-based condiment. The fruit pickles were a nice touch. The prices were acceptable, and the 3 beer sampler for $6 is a solid deal. I would be happy to come by another time.“

“Always great beers on tap. Bartenders know their stuff. Huge menu. Specialty keg tappings on Wednesday. A must visit when in the area.“

“A little hard to find. Nice long bar with a bunch of booths, outdoor seats, and some tables on the other side of the restaurant. Service was pretty good, though it was not a very busy day. I was actually annoyed at how quickly they brought our food. Our meals came at the same time as the appetizer. The food was very good. I was a little offput by the plain old Ruffles potato chips that came with the sandwich. I didnt really want fries anyway, but usually they at least throw you some house-made chips. Prices were pretty average. 2 beers, 2 sandwiches, and a plate of nachos came to about $42. Would definitely go back if I was in the area, but it’s not somewhere I would drive the 30 minutes specifically to go there.“

“I’m surprised the score is so low because I really liked this place. The only reason the service score is low is that this place is so popular that server was overwhelmed. My hamburger was amazing. They have over 20 craft beers on tap and over 100 bottles including a large number of large bottles. I will definitely come back if I’m in the area. 4/30/12 I am back. The hamburgers are still amazing. The beer selection is awesome and they have a lot of stuff, like lost abbey, Russian river, and Hitachino Nest, that you don’t see everyday here. I actually got into the bar and the ambience is amazing. Lots of stone and exposed brand which connects to a patio that feels like an English garden. This place is even more awesome now that I’ve engaged in a little Beerism. I’d love it if this were my local. I’m upping my rating.“

“This is actually the first ever beer bar I went to many years ago thanks to my cousin in PA. I went back while on vacation last week for the first time. The place itself is pretty cool looking. I like the layout but it seems to be a pretty popular spot and pretty crowded. Service wasn’t bad but they were busy. I spoke to an employee that was not working at the moment and he was really knowledgeable about the brews. The selection was awesome for Philly Beer Week. I had Dark Horse 3 and Lost Abbey Brandy Aged Angel’s Share from tap. I had the meatloaf sandwich and it was ok, a little dry and could have used fries instead of chips. The pricing is what you expect but really good on some. Overall I like the place a lot and it’s always good to see great beer bars in the suburbs.“

“Have sat both upstairs and down here for dinner. They have booth’s and tables upstairs, its quieter up there and you still get a chalkboard of the beers on tap. The food was decent and the beer lists and bottle selection were outstanding. It’s always good when a place constantly updates you on what they have. The bar downstairs is big and was packed with people ... smoking is permitted on the patio outside .... I definitely enjoyed myself here and would come back again.“

“Easy, relaxed atmosphere inside. I visited on a Friday afternoon around the holidays and there were quite a few other patrons. Draft and bottle selection is top-notch. Nice selection of Christmas beers available on my visit. Only had a few appetizers, but they were quite tasty. Another bar that, unfortunately, is too far away for me to be a regular.“

“Been here a few times. Nice selection, changes frequently. Draft list is usually nothing to get excited about but the bottle list has some real treasures. This is also a family restaurant so it can get crowded. Also gets insanely packed on weekends after ten. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful.“

“Great place. Draft list always changing, bottle list is nice(sometimes they run out of the rare ones). Happy hour is very reasonable from 10pm-12am sunday - thursday which is nice. Events scattered and special beers twice to three times a month give good reasons to check this place out.“

“This is going to be one of my favorite places to enjoy great food with great craft brew on tap. Food is done very well. An amazing brew variety and a very knowledgeable staff. I’m amazed at the beer advocacy going on right in my area, and I plan to frequent this place and show my support for what they’re doing there.“

“I’ve been frequenting Isaac’s since 1993 during my bachelor days when I first moved to Newtown. I’m down the road in Yardley now with a wife and three kids and it has become a favorite with the kids as well. It was after the fire and rebuild that Isaac’s really rev’ed up their selections and became a place to go for good beers/ales/stouts. All the while keeping the feel of a family restaurant. Great place to go with the family and still get a great pint/bottle. The Owner is very involved and has been a huge beer advocate in the area. Look forward to many more good times there.“

“Great, knowledgable staff. Good selection of every type of beer. Kind of small, but very friendly crowd. I frequent this place and there are only two things that I dont quite get. One: For a place that serves such strong beers, why is the bathroom down the most dangerous drunken staicase you could imagine? Two: Why do they still allow smoking in this place? It really ruins the palate. Food is not great, but good.“

“Been here a few times and the service has always been either great or lousy, depending on how crowded they are. Good looking restaurant with a wood decor, long bar but cramped area. The clientel is usually snobby with out much appreciation for the good beer the place has, which isn’t too bad because that means more beer for me. The problem is when it gets crowded the smoke can be overwhelming. Over time they have had a great bottle selection - HOTD, De Dolle, Bells, 3 Floyds, and some beers from around the world. Was disappointed when I first went and I saw a Westy 8 on the menu and ordered it and the bartender said "Oh we haven’t had that in years" then why the hell did you have it on the menu? The tap list can be hit or miss. I have had Hopslam on draft and they usually have a Bell’s seasonal on draft. They ofer any bottles for take out but watch out some of them are too pricey - $5 for a Prima Pils? - but some are decent - $ 5 for a HOTD Fred! Not a place I would frequent too much but nice to go to every once in awhile. I recommend going during lunch hour.“

“Was looking for a place with good beer as I was staying in the area for work. This place was the closest, and a look at the website showed some west coasters (Rogue, SN, Anchor) along with the standard locals such as DFH, Brooklyn, and Yards on draft. The atmosphere on the bar side was very cozy and friendly and the service was fast and knowledgeable. The food was average, but was timely. It appeared that they had monthly beer tastings of new seasonals from the surrounding breweries, which was a plus in my eyes. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone.“

“Only about 1-2 miles from my house so maybe I’m a bit biased. Also have to take into account that this is in PA (= assed up liquor purchase laws) and Newtown (= a bit more expensive than other joints in the area). That being said I have to say Isaac’s has the best selection in the area, great service at the bar (decent in the restaurant), pretty good food, and a nice atmosphere. Food not as good as other places in Newtown, but beer selection more than makes up for it. Plenty of good rotating selections on tap and lots of bottle variety. Takeout growlers a great feature, but very expensive unless there is a really good special edition beer available. Worth checking out if you are in Bucks County!“

“The beer selection is pretty good here even though I don’t know why they still list westy 8 which has been gone for a while. They have a nice list of Belgians, Germans, and US micros but some regionals were noticeably missing (Troegs, Weyerbacher, Apalachin, etc). The service was awesome. The waitress was knowledgeable about beer. She gave my wife a mix of hoegaarden and lideman’s framboise which was nice. They didn’t mind that my three year old and her two year old friend tore up the place. The ribs were fantastic. Every item on the menu is under $20! The beers range from $4.50 to $11.00.“

“The beer selection is great, 20 taps no macros constantly revolving, tons of bottles belgian, german, african, U.S. micros, french, canadian. Good food, not overly crowded, good amount of seating, never waited for a beer, had westvleteren 8 on the beer list, although they were out, my new favorite spot.“

“I visit here when I come up to see the family.i was here before the fire and I just visited again in March. They really improved things. The selection is un beleievable.I must agree with MaiBock, great place forPA raters to go.You can’t buy singles in PA unless your drinking them at the bar. This only about 1 hour north of the Philly airport.I met the owner and he was knowledgable and friendly.I had got the last Bells java stout that he had and also Bells Kal stout.Great place to hang and the food is good.“

“My visit was on a Saturday, mid-afternoon. The place was on the quite side. Did not investigate the dining area. The bar was large with ample seating. 20 taps sported something for everyone, including rarer finds such as Petrus Winter and FFF Robert the Bruce. And hundreds of bottles. Being in PA, this is perfect for PA raters too snag ratings, especially if you just want singles. There are plenty Belgians, I might add. I personnaly had a Robert the Bruce and an Old Rasputan, both on tap. This is not just a place worthy of a visit, but worth hanging out at as a regular. The food seamed OK, althoough all I had was a wrap.“
