“I am also surprised this place doesn’t get more reviews...of course I suspect some of the confusion is the Gem & Keystone brewpub out by the road (serving most of the same beers)...I’m not sure people realize the main brewery and taproom are further in on the property (setback on the right as you drive in to the hotel)...their name is painted on the side of the aluminum building. There is no food served here so you can see the review two below mine was referring to the Gem & Keystone. I found the staff to be great...and they took care of me very well. I did flights of all their beers and enjoyed a number of them (Saison IPA, Biere della Notte, Wet-Hopped Saison, Black IPA, and Bourbon Barrel Porter). I was fortunate there was live music...a great solo artist playing mostly blues. Note that when you go to the restrooms you get to see the whole brewery...as well as their wood barrels. ShawneeCraft is a simple place...purest almost...it’s about the beer and the people (and music if you time it right). I stayed till the music ended and they closed...then the bartenders were nice enough to direct me down the road to the Minisink Hotel for some really great late night food (and some decent craftbeer bottles). I recommend a visit if in the area or passing through. They are just over the river from NJ...so only about 40 minutes from the Parsippany area where I live.“

“This is a nice brewpub. They had a good selection of the Shawnee beers on draft/nitro, and I was pretty impressed. Not just your standard Lager, Wheat, APA line-up, but some pretty interesting beers. Nothing was outstanding, but many of the beers were solid-to-good. We only ate an appetizer, but it was pretty tasty. It seemed like the outdoor space was nice, though we only sat at the bar by the entrance. I’d return for sure. “

“Stopped in for a couple growler fills. The brewery is tucked behind the inn. You walk in and are in the brewery, to the left is a small bar area where they have a few taps and limited bottled selection. I stopped in during the afternoon and there were a few others partaking. They filled my growlers and I picked up a couple bottles. Was much pricier then expected, especially picking up at source. Also had some issues filling the growlers, luckily I was drinking that evening as there was alot of air let in on pours as the tender kept blaming the growler style. It was a standard one.“

“A nice craft brewery in a ski resort town in the Poconos, off route 80 on the PA-NJ border. I’m a little surprised they don’t get more ratings! A nice restaurant setting next to a ski resort. I’m not even sure they had a bar. They had about 6 beers on tap, which were pretty good. They feature a couple of regulars and a couple of seasonals plus maybe one special barrel aged beer. I got to try their brown ale, pale ale, English pale ale, porter, and bourbon barrel aged porter. The food was great too- I got the chicken and it was very good, large portions too. Very friendly servers and there may be some deals with certain ski resorts because they asked if we had coupons. Overall I quite enjoyed my time there and the beers and food were great. I would definitely visit again!“

“Very nice little brewpub and restaurant...especially for the area...meaning there aren’t that many craft beer options around. I visited recently with the intention of going to the the affiliated Shawnee Craft brewery next door. The problem was that the brewery’s website said they were open on Sundays...but they are not. Fortunately my drive out from north Jersey was not a waste as most of the Shawnee Craft beers are featured at the Gem & Keystone. I got a flight or two and sampled all of the available beers. I enjoyed most of them...they ranged from good to very good...but nothing that I’d call great...not a cut...just my opinion. The food was very good and overall I felt the value was very good too. Next time out this way I will visit the brewery...but I definitely recommend a stop here too.“

“Great food, with a broad selection - lots of vegetarian options, which I always appreciate. The falafel burger I had was delicious. Good beer options. The ambience was nice, with beautiful views of the Poconos. My waitress was very polite and helpful.“

“Beer choices are limited to the tap list (about 6) and a few bottles. Luckily, the tap list features some very solid beers. Great ambiance, knowledgable bartenders, really good food featuring locally sourced ingredients. One of my favorite places to have a pint in the Poconos.“

“Okay I have to admit I’m a regular and have toured the nearby brewhouse which used to be an ice hockey rink. This is a restaurant which used to be Sam Sneads, a golf themed restaurant chain. They still have the memorabilia and it sits near the Shawnee Inn and golf course who own it. The beer selection has been changing since last summer’s floods struck and right now they have pumpkin saison, nitro bourbon imperial porter, stock ale, nitro triple pale, bier blanche and some lager. The strong beers are sold in 7oz glasses and can be a bit pricey. growlers can be pricey as well. But the beers are really good. The bar downstairs is comfortable with nice friendly servers who go out of their way to help. They have bands down there, pool and darts, small TVs which don’t interfere with conversation, and its right next to the golf course. Barrel-aged beers is their forte!“

“Though it would be hard to find this place since it’s well off the beaten path, It’s a nice place to stop for a meal if you’re in the area. Very rural location in Shawnee, it has a very large deck with a nice view of the forest and a bar downstairs and a more family friendly restaurant upstairs. There was live music in the bar on the afternoon we were there. The ambiance was kind of like a rustic country inn meets steakhouse. Nicely laid out and comfortable. The service was pretty good. I was pretty disappointed in the beer selection. They only had 3 beers on tap, the porter, lager, and wheat beer. All three were just so-so with the porter being a pretty nice session beer. The waitress told us that the brewer was bringing some raspberry blanche any minute, and toward the end of the meal she brought us all some samples. That was nice. The food was good. I got the baby-back ribs and enjoyed them. Everyone else seemed happy with their food as well. Overall, I would not go out of my way to make it to this place and wished they had more of their beer to try, but it was worth it for the food and nice relaxing atmosphere.“

“Located adjacent to a poconos resort, this place was a pleasant surprise. Maybe one of the best hamburgers I’ve had in my life. the meat tasted so fresh and flavorful. They had the typical 5-6 things on tap. I especially enjoyed the raspberry blanche. It had the bearing of a lambic with extra silkiness. The building was nice and relaxed. Certainly the kind of place you’d want to spend a holiday. This probably explains why they have so few ratings since there don’t seem to be a lot of locals around. I thought everything was very reasonably priced, they even had a value pick which I wasn’t expecting. I’ll definitely be back for another juicy burger.“

“Great brewpub right by the Shawnee Inn just off of I-80, adjacent to the river. Great atmosphere, lots of windows and three patios that overlook a creek with the river and the mountains in the distance. Typical bar selection of food, all with a smoky flavor. Service is average, waiters are knowledgable about the beers. Selection was limited to about 5 or 6 beers or so. Value average for a touristy place in the Poconos- like 9 bucks for a burger and 4-5 for a pint. Downstairs is a sports bar type area with a few TVs. Overall great atmosphere, very tranquil and relaxing, great view especially if you like to be outside on the patio/deck. Got a growler, was a good pickup.“

“Just off of I-80 near the Delaware Water Gap .... a nice family restaurant look/bar upstairs and the downstairs had a sports bar theme with a nice long bar and a half dozen tv’s .... The server was really nice and knew about their beers which is perfect .... Had the pumpkin saison which was amazing seek it out .... the rest of the beer was pretty standard priced 4-5 bucks but all solid brews the doppelbock and frambozenbier were very good .... according to Lew Bryson the owner is planning to barrel age everything and create a flanders belgian style brewpub hopefully by 2012. Overall a good experience. Didn’t have any food this time just some soft pretzel braids. They fill and sell growlers.“
