“Big open area with the brewing facilities towards the rear. 20 different taps, all home grown. Lots of interesting selections, regardless of what style you like, you should be able to find something good. Service was attentive and prompt. Food was bar food.“

“Mainly stopped for a sandwich and some groceries. The place is nice and refreshing. But the beer selection is rather small, but with good prices, 4 packs of EOBCs for less than 10$. Plenty of parking.“

“DId a quick pearing given they claim to be the oldest liquor store in the USA, dating from the 1600 or 1700s. The building looks like it. The place is split in two parts, the hard liquour (the oldest part) and the newer wine and beer section. Not a huge section, but the beers (bottles and cans) seemed well curated. They did have a growler fill station but it was not in use since they are expending to the place next door which will hold it (maybe a tasting room)?“

“Not my favorite stop. This place is probably the oldest in town, and their 30th anniversary was being celenbrated on my visit, with some special releases. The building as 2 tap rooms, in the front, which is open to the street and the food truck (this time, a turkey focused kitchen) and the back, the speakeasy, which was air conditioned. Both are very well decorated, and plenty of seating is available. Service was OK. The beers are nothing special, very focused on lighter ales, IPAs, but all beers tasted was 3.5 at most. Flight of 4 was 14$, a bit expensive for underwhelming beers.“

“Located in the North of the city, in the hipster area, this brewery rocks. The brewery is located in an older industrial building, with the taproom and actual brewery are together. The patio area as more seating, but there is plenty of seating at the bar. Service was attentive. Beers are very solid, with varied styles, going from blonde to imperial stouts and barrel aged sours. Flight of 4 for 10$. Well worth the stop.“

“Another good stop in CHS. Located off busy Savanah highway, this place is simple and sober, mid sized taproom, bar seating. Good service. The Bok Choy Boys restaurant on premise offers Pinoy and SEA style food. The egg foo young with chinese sausage was great. Beer selection is varied and solid, a few 4s for sure. Tasters go from 3 to 6$. Well worth the detour.“

“First beery stop in CHS and what a stop. This is the restaurant component of the EOBC complex on Morrison; the Exchange next door is the bottle shop. The place is huge , classy, all wooden and dark brown hues. Communal and booth seating as well as plenty of bar seating. The service was good. The beer menu is extensive, over 30 taps, 20 EOBC and 10 guests (including some meads). Tasters were about 4$ each (with some exceptions) served 2 at a time. Food menu is upscale dining. I had the Pimento cheese appetizers which was huge. A must in CHS>“

“What a great new location in Charleston, SC. We were there for lunch, good food, and an excellent selection of beers. There is both an inside and outside dining area. We were watching USC beat Clemson on Saturday. You order food and beer at one point and it is delivered to another location. The beers, mostly IPAs were good. There is a turf area near the courtyard for kids to kick a soccer ball or pass the football. The parking was excellent.“

“Bar area seemed a bit small, but there is a patio outside and a rooftop which was closed during our visit. They had around 12 taps and 20-25 cans/bottles. Plenty of different styles. The beer was good quality. Friendly service. Recommended.“

“Nice patio outside, the inside seemed to be closed. About 15 taps outside, nothing too exciting. Beer is served in plastic cups which is a minus in my book. Service could be better.“

“A pour your own establishment. Upstairs, with a rooftop patio. Vibe is bit clean and corporate. Beerlist is extensive, with a lot of SC and NC ticks available. Nothing crazy exciting, but lots of solid locals. Food was solid. Solid place to pile up 1oz ticks.“

“The brewery is located on a very busy Savannah highway,. The garage doors were open and we had a table overlooking the sidewalk and the food truck Foxes Friend with Brandy and Doug. Brandy said this is one of their favorite stops due to the quality of the beer. The Fish and chips was excellent. Excellent information on their ales and beers. Parking is a challenge for someone new to the area. the Mudlark Nitro was excellent.“

“I used to visit Charleston and its nearby beaches every summer years ago and Palmetto was the only local beer option though they did not have a taproom back then. It always served me well as straightforward and quality, classic American craft beer. I was interested to visit now that they have a facility which is open to the public. It's a cozy little taproom that has extensive outdoor seating. It feels like a bigger production place with basically just merch and beer memorabilia creating the ambiance. I was reminded that Catawba and Palmetto have merged upon looking at the very extensive tap list. There must have been close to 30 beers available. The beer captured that nostalgia of drinking here over a decade ago though the recipes and catalog have been modernized a bit. It's a good move to use some newer hops in the IPA and dial back the specialty malt. Their pale ale didn't seem to be a thing anymore which I was bummed about but I doubt it was a big seller for them anymore. Some trendier things like hazies and fruited kettle sours were available but tons of classic styles were also available. Great stop all around.“

“Charleston Beer Works is a ruckus sports bar on King Street that also has an extensive beer list. Of all the places on this strip that are open late, crowded, have live music, have food, and have that old bar smell, this one probably has the best beer list. It's a good place to go party or watch sports while having a quality beer.“

“Conveniently located in downtown this is a no frills cafe and beer bar. It's in an old building, keeping with the Charleston vibe, and also has a cozy outdoor patio. The draft list rotates seemingly often and focuses on regional stuff. There will be something quality on. The coffee side of things is solid as well. This is a good place to to chill and have a good beverage.“

“Great spot, about 10 taps and loads of cans/bottles. Taps are EO but bottles have some guesties. Some merch and fancy condiments and books and such available. Chill spot, some outdoor seating if you don’t want to risk getting Covid. Great staff.“

“This is where we ended up to watch NFL football on a Sunday, so that's what we went for, not the beer list. But to be fair, this place does have a pretty good beer list, 50/50 Local vs Otherwise and sturdy imports, nothing remarkable but also not readily available in town. Great football atmosphere, if you end up in town for a football Sunday. Super friendly, efficient and professional staff. Friendly clientele. Limited menu of American bar food, but we had was good.“

“After Culinary tour with jk13. In a separate building behind the main building. Park over there as there are only a couple spots in front. Small 20 person-ish taproom that opens up to the brewery/barrel room in the back. Had 6 sours on tap, a couple (non-sour) cans and a bunch of different sour bombers available. Friendly, knowledgeable bartender let us get 5 oz pours of each of the 6 at once, so essentially a flight. In the hour we were there, seemed like random couples would wander over from the other place, have a taster and leave. If you are looking for sours in the area, this is the place--and they were all well above average. Revelry knows how to make good beer. We will return“

“Brewery 2 of 4 on our long walk to (nowhere). Just north of the city but in reasonable proximity to several other breweries. Long bar in a room with brewery on the other side of the wall. Biggish outdoor space with another tiki-looking bar. Cold and rainy so we did not venture out there. (I see another review aludes to an upstairs bar? Shrug). Like 12 of their own on tap. Beers were fair to good--not great. Prompt service but to be fair was only 2-4 other people in the place. Friendly bartender chatted us up and was quite knowledgeable about all things Tradesman. May sound silly but best reason to come here (and why we will return) is that they are open before 4 PM. Most Charleston breweries are not, and if I only have 2+ days in town to hit a bunch, I have to find the ones that are open...“

“It's a small but friendly place. The beer is outstanding and is the service. We arrived when they opened and didn't get to experience the place "after dark" but it should be hoppin'. The only draw back is size related. They have taps that aren't loaded due to supply constraints due to demand. These guys need to expand - they are world class brewers. “

“Great little place in what looks like an old auto-body shop or something. Couple of different bar locations, IIRC. I planted at the small one downstairs, with about four stools. Service was good, but I was probably the only one in the place. Selection, about 10 of their own beers, all of which were good to very good. Great value. Overall, definitely worth a stop. They are doing some interesting stuff here.“

“A pour-your-own-beer establishment where you can pour as little or as much as you want - excellent concept for tickers. It’s upstairs, so after you enter, you have to take an elevator up. You give them a credit card and you get a another card with a QR code that keeps track of your beer pouring. Selection is actually not very impressive, with mostly generic beers, with a couple of interesting standouts. Overall, great concept, good for ticking without paying much, but not very interesting beer selection.“

“The sour / wild beer facility of the original Revelry just a block away. Only 3 parking spots outfront - don't park in the lot across the street as it's a private lot - there should side street parking available. Small taplist of their wild stuff. No flights, just 5 oz pours ($3 per), and no tasters before hand. Tried 2 and 1 was good, the other uncoordinated. Decent service. Intimate, comfortable tasting room. Worth a visit.“

“Immaculate, fancy place that feels like you're dining in an elegant restaurant. Impressive taplist with maybe 8 house taps and the rest guests with a solid range there. 4 oz pours of house taps and half-pours of the guests. House beer was decent, but didn't blow me away. Service was excellent. Didn't eat here, but they had a solid menu, with a couple of vegetarian options. Pricy food and beer, except for their house beers. They also have a separate outside bar that is similarly elegantly designed. Definitely worth a visit.“

“Having used to do shipping orders from Charleston Beer Exchange and learning that this is the new iteration of that store, I had to visit. Beautiful bottle shop, with a wonderfully curated selection. Upstairs, they have wines, ciders and meads. They also have a little bar area where you can order 4 oz pours ($3) of 10 house beers. Very friendly staff and definitely worth a visit for your bottle shopping needs.“

“Tucked away in an industrial park in the north park of the city, this is a fun tasting room. A dozen or so taps, with flights of 4 available, priced by the beer, usually $2-2.50, so my flight was $10. 1 of the 4 beers was dialed in properly, the others were a mess, with diacetyl, phenols and just general issues. Super friendly bartender who was happy to talk beer and provide local recommendations. Overall, hard to recommend this due to the low beer quality.“

“I think this gets my pick for best brewery in town. Just outside the centre, this is a moderately-sized tasting room. No flights, but single 5 oz poura available for $2-3, very reasonable. Beer quality was frankly impressive - everything we ordered was high quality, which doesn't happen very often at all. Friendly, hospitable service. Mandatory top when in Charleston.“

“GoogleMaps will lead you to the front of the brewery, then you have to park in the back where the tasting room is located. No A/C, but they have fans going. Tiny area at the bar, plus a few more tables, with a rustic, bare bones wooden structure for a brewery. 8 taps or so, with flights of 4 available for $10 (after tax). Sours were solid, and the Rye BA impie stout I had was abrasive as hell but I appreciated the ambition. Extremely friendly service and a cool place to hang out. Worth a stop.“

“I came here specifically for cue and I wasn't at all expecting any decent beer selection. It was a nice bonus. They've got plenty of local and regional taps with a few imports. I was completely satisfied with the food. Every time I visit anywhere near the Carolinas I eat barbecue and always expect top notch stuff. Swig & Swine did not disappoint in that regard. The location was fantastic as we had a hotel across the street from Craft Conundrum. Throw in Charles Towne Fermentory and you've got yourself a nice little beer crawl. I'm not sure this would be considered an elite beer stop in Charleston, but if you're looking for cue and good, local beer this is one of the best stops for that combo.“

“If you've been to a Total Wine, you know what to expect. The selection is vast, perhaps too vast to ensure regular rotation of all the product. They've got tons of singles as expected. The prices are weird, some stuff is much lower compared to other places around town and some of the limited offerings are much higher. If you pay attention to date stamps, you're gonna have no problem finding quality, fresh beer. My only complaint is the lack of refrigerated beer. Probably 75% or more of the beer is held at room temperature.“

“I had a late flight into Charleston and only had a few hours before businesses would be closing to grab some beers. This little neighborhood has some cool stuff and is a bit easier to get in and out of than downtown, especially coming from the airport. Charles Towne Fermentory has a modern, comfortable taproom. They were hosting trivia which plenty of people were excited about, but it wasn't too distracting and neither were we. A kitchen is on premise with a rotating cast of chefs so the cuisine could be many different things on any given night. It's a great idea and it'd be cool to see a little more of that. The beers are very hip, aka several thickly cloudy offerings and a few sours. Nothing wrong with giving the people what they want, but personally I can't get into turbid lagers. Anyway, it was easy to find a good beer that's more to my taste because they still managed to have a good spectrum of styles, not just 7 hazy IPAs and 2 Belgians like I've seen at other places. Service was appropriately southern/friendly. I had a good time here.“

“Nice bar, with a ton of local Charleston and regional taps available. Was there just for a few quick afternoon drinks with the wife. Missed the fact they had sampler sizes until after ordering our first round. Nice staff at the bar with a few locals at the time we were there. ambiance: Went to the one on 17, right down the road from Craft Conundrum in one direction and Charlestowne Fermentory in the other. Small parking lot, so good luck. Inside it’s a smallish restaurant with an 8-seater (or so) bar area, tables and booths. The smell draws you in (as does the name--driving by when I saw the sign, must have broken a dozen traffic laws to turn around and get there with a quickness). service: Sat at the bar and it was fine. Girl on duty was new but tried her best. They forgot my silverware is the only knock. Everyone was friendly enough. selection: About a dozen taps, mostly local. Nothing crazy, but good choices. food: Yeah, that’s the main attraction here. I’m a SLUT for barbecue, and this place was ON POINT. For one, they had smoked pork belly as one of the meat choices. And they had Alabama White BBQ sauce (one of 4-5 types), which was new to me and delicious. Everything was good, and I had a lot of stuff. value: No complaints. overall: Next time I’m back in Charleston, I’m definitely going back. The pork belly alone demands it.“
