64 /100 Thirsty Lion Gastropub (Music Factory) (Restaurant) 350 LAS COLINAS BLVD. WEST Visited on a Wednesday before dinner. Located in the new development around the Music Factory in Irving, Texas. Parking seemed to be centralized for the whole setup. Restaurant is quite large, with a big bar, restaurant seating and two nice outdoor areas on each side of the building. Beer selection is approximately 16 beers on draft with 10 or so of them being Texas craft, though nothing too crazy. Gastropub food menu. Friendly service. Decent spot to grab a beer before a show, or if you are attending an event at the next door Irving Convention Center. (Just ok) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
56 /100 Mattito's (Restaurant) 1001 MACARTHUR PARK DR Mattito's in Irving has several Deep Ellum's on draft and Karbach, as well as the typical Mexican lagers. For a Tex-Mex restaurant, you're lucky to get any beers on draft. The ambiance and food can't be beat! Happy hour specials are a great deal on beer and food. |
46 /100 Aspen Creek (Restaurant) 4300 W AIRPORT FREEWAY Had dinner here while in the area for business in early October ’15. Located near the airport, full of traveling businessman (like myself I guess!). Sixteen beers on tap - half macros, a few Texas craft - nothing to write home about. Burgers, steak, chicken dominate the menu. I had a Black and Bleu burger and it was actually pretty tasty. If you are stuck at an airport hotel without a rental car, this would be worth it - but do not go out of your way for. |
