88 /100 Kroger - Lewisville, TX (Castle Hills) (Grocery Store) 4620 TX-121 This is my favorite kroger in the DFW area. They have a huge selection of singles and six packs. There is a HUGE selection of local craft beer and they often have beer tastings for certain beers they are promoting. They also have a back end cap full of bombers. |
94 /100 Total Wine & More - Lewisville (Beer Store) 2325 S STEMMONS FWY This is my new go-to beer store. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The selection is the best I have seen yet in the entire DFW area. They have a huge selection of individual bottles as well which i love since I prefer to try as many beers as I can. There is also a huge selection of bombers and an area dedicated specifically to seasonals. Their pricing can’t compare with $9.99 mix 6 packs to Albertson’s or Kroger but they make up for it with their selection. If your in the area, I highly recommend you check out this Total Wine and More and I know you wont leave disappointed. |
82 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 Visited on a Monday evening. Located in a brand new shopping strip near the highway, easy to find. Smallish space, though plenty of space to sit at the long tables with stools or stand. Selection is 50 beers, with the taps listed using the always helpful Digital Pour system which is 100% up to date in store or on their website. Mostly local focused with a number of rare and one off beers available. Sizes are 16 oz, 32 oz, 64 oz or via 4 oz taster. The tasters seemed to be what everybody ordered, and they were served in very cool wooden taster trays. A few bar snacks available for sale. Staff friendly, and clearly very into craft beer. I really enjoyed this spot. 82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
78 /100 Total Wine & More - Lewisville (Beer Store) 2325 S STEMMONS FWY Visited here in mid January ’16 while in the area for business. About on par with other Total Wines I have been to thus far,not quite as stocked as other Dallas area locations. At least four aisles of beer to choose from. Just about any Texas brewery you can think of can be found here as well as most major west coast brewers. Large selection of imports and a complete section of nothing but seasonals which was nice. Several displays of higher priced bombers and 750 mls for those so inclined. Several hundred singles - which is what I am looking for when on the road. Solid retailer, will swing by when in the area again. Noticed a classroom they had set aside for seminars, tastings etc - very nice. |
94 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 Only thing bad that I can say about this place is that it isn’t closer to me!!! Seriously though, D/FW has needed a place like this and I am glad that it is as close as it is. |
88 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 Clean and open space, very knowledgeable staff, the digital readout of what’s on tap and how much is left is a nice touch. Rick and Sam know what they’re doing and it shows with this place. |
90 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 Small little place, but a ton of taps. Mix of local beers and quality non-local stuff. I was able to get a couple flights.I really liked this place. |
90 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 It's all about the beer and nothing but the beer. |
58 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY As others have said, a pretty typical BJs. They have a decent selection of guest drafts, which includes some decent local options; a big plus if you’re an out of tower like I was. Like any other BJs, not at all worth going out of your way for, but if you’re at one of the hotels close by, certainly worth stopping in for a perfectly decent beer. |
86 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 Part of the Lone Star franchise, ran by RIck the son of Sam. Was able to talk with him for a good 15-20 minutes and he really does his research to provide the best 50 taps daily. You can get build your own samples all the way up to 64oz growlers, they also have Crowlers. I thought the prices were very reasonable. Selection was excellent and focused mainly on locals, which I love. If you go to the beverage store you need to travel 6 miles longer to this location. |
86 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 Did not disappoint. Great service from good people. Really good prices on local growler fills. Nice work from the Lonestar guys. |
84 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 New growler filling station from the folks behind Lone Star Beverages (arguably the best independent bottle shop in all of North Texas), so I had high hopes for this new venture. They did not disappoint - small space w/ a few tables along the wall. Small bar used only for orders/payments. Large screens on the wall showing current taps, prices for pints, tasters, growler fills, and how much is in any given keg. They are also the first retail store in the country doing Crowler fills (32oz cans filled and sealed right at the bar). Prices are very competitive and, so far, the tap list has been impressive and rotates daily. |
88 /100 Lone Star Taps & Caps (Bar) 4740 STATE HWY 121 SUITE 500 Really nice new place owned by the same people behind Lone Star Beverage, which is one of the best, if not the best, independent beer store in the Metroplex. It also means they know their stuff and will work to get the best beers on tap. This is a growler filling station located just off 121, not far from the Dallas North Tollway. 50 taps with a mix of Texas and non-Texas beers, including some limited release beers from national breweries. Sell full pours as well as 4 ounce tasters for on premises consumption. Also fill 32 ounce growlers and crowlers, as well as 64 ounce growlers. They also have cooler space for 200+ bottles. A welcome addition to the Collin/Denton county beer scene. |
52 /100 Goody Goody Liquor (Beer Store) 1950 JUSTIN RD Experience like shopping for groceries. Decent selection, price about the same as everywhere else. Found a beer here I hadn’t seen at any other place in town but not my first choice for beer shopping. |
66 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Typical BJ’s. Decent beer selection. Did not eat. BEWARE!! Smoking establishment. I had one beer and left-cannot handle the smoke. The filtration and air circulation is horrible.
Avoid if you are a non smoker. |
52 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY I gave very low marks for service, but it’s a chain so the turnover and attention to server training play a huge role in that, and I’m sure I could go here half the time and be pleased with the wait staff. They have a decent selection of "house" brews, and they have a build your own flight option, which I always enjoy. We’ve been here a few times and I have never been disappointed with the food, good standard bar fare. |
70 /100 Goody Goody Liquor (Beer Store) 1950 JUSTIN RD Like thee other comments say, there is a large selection. I have found most of the staff to be pretty enthusiastic to help and for the most part knowledgeable about the beer. The managers in particular undergo varying amounts of training, both in-house and otherwise, so they almost always have an answer to any questions |
58 /100 Goody Goody Liquor (Beer Store) 1950 JUSTIN RD Nice little stop on my way to my brothers house in highland village. nothing really out of the ordinary as far as the beer goes, it’s pretty much all the stuff you can find at other beer stores. |
60 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY I never really think to go here, we always wind up here as an afterthought, but honestly- not bad beer at all for a chain restaurant. And their thick-almost-chicago-style pizza is very solid, we have have great experiences every time we order it. Standard chain-type-restaurant food on offer & the beer isn’t anything to write home to mother about, but overall not bad at all. Would definitely go here over a Friday’s or Chili’s or any of that ilk, any day. Sometimes packed with too many kids/families, so sit in the bar! |
82 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Great place to hang out with friends and family to watch a game or celebrate a birthday. I had the Derricks meatloaf excellent!!. My favorite beer their is the Jeremiah Red. |
48 /100 Goody Goody Liquor (Beer Store) 1950 JUSTIN RD Went there for liquor, and they could improve the beer selection. |
68 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Went here with my girlfriend, brother and his wife. we waited for about 30-45 mins before getting called in. they did however bring you a slice of pizza outside while waiting, except for me of course the waiter ran out and said he would be back and never returned. our waiter was rather unorthodox asking us to wait while he took another tables order. finally got to us and took our order and delivered the order and vanished into thin air. He seemed to be showing all the classic signs of being geeked up on coke(fumbling around, scatter brained, sniffing) Other than the high waiter the food was excellent as was the atmosphere with sports on all the screens. I am really partial to their nutty brunette and tatonka stout. |
64 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY The Tatonka Stout is great here. Im sure the service could have been better if we had a waiter or waitress that was not litterally snorting coke.....When we were finnaly assted to a table, waiter comes out, asks us if we would like to start out with drinks and right when I was about to tell him what I wanted, he actually asks me to wait so he can take an order from the table next to us.....very odd......Once we finnaly got our drinks and food, we did not have the waiter come by at all for about 30-40 min.....we had no more drinks offered to us or anything....when he got to the table, he was sniffing alot, acting very jittery, talking very fast, being clumsy, and looked fairly wide eyed. My brother who was with us use to be on drugs and was a dealer for a few years (He is completly clean now) noticed right away and stated that this guy has got to be snorting something, he had all the signs of being on coke at that moment, even fumbling my pizza for about half a min. before he eventually got it in the To-Go box (just 2 slices)......So, at the end. since we were not offered another beer for 40 min. I left a $4.00 tip instead of my usuall $8-$10... |
84 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY I really liked the house Totanka Stout (ISA) I had at the bar. Really neat place! Great for beer lovers who like good food. I also had a Lindemans Peach Lambic. I want to attend the 5 course dinner featuring the house Grand Cru! |
50 /100 Goody Goody Liquor (Beer Store) 1950 JUSTIN RD The best place in Lewisville/Highland Village to get a craft beer, but that is not saying much. Pretty big size store with a lot of wine and decent liqour selection. Lots of room for beer. The back wall is full of beer in the coolers about half of it macro, but I always find something to buy. Aso have a room temp selection on the right side (as you walk in) of the store, this is where some of the better beer is. Hercules DIPA, Dogfish Head etc. Prices are ok, usually have something on sale. |
76 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY As the others have already said this place is not too bad. Their house beers are not great but are better than anything else in the area and they have a decent selection (for the area) of bottle beers. Every so often they get something different as well. The good is pretty good. I like to go for happy hour, my wife and I can get two drinks each and pizza for under $25. |
68 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Just off I - 35 East it’s easy to find. large open area with plenty of televisions to watch the ball game. The BJ’s draft beers here are good as is the food. This is one of my pit stops when I’m in the Dallas area. Worth a visit. |
66 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Identical to the other locations I’ve been to...smallish but decent Belgian selections...good pizzas... |
60 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Beers are quite decent for being a chain. Food is about what you’d expect from Chile’s or Bennigan’s, but a little classier. Worth a trip. |
50 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Stopped here after doing some storm chasing in N Texas. Large indoor area, typical for a BJs, big bar, high ceiling. though the ambiance was terrible, the brewer at the time (2005) actually was producing solid products. I wonder where he or she is now. |
60 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Lewisville (Restaurant) 2609 S STEMMONS FWY Nice atmosphere and good pizza, but rarely a new beer offering. Besides the eight or so brews that BJs brews themselves, they also have about 15 Belgians, Stone, and Wyders ciders. |
