“Pretty close to the center of the bar-restaurant scene in downtown Leesburg, it was bursting at the seems on a Friday around 7. We settled into a cold patio table, which worked out OK. Service was good, despite being slammed. About a dozen quality draft choices plus a full-page menu of bottles/cans. Pizza is really, really good. Good dinner spot for a beer lover.“

“Free dedicated parking in front. Beer is on the right. Their stock does not match their online menu that well. Service was not quite as good as other TW&Ms. Selection is not as good as local TW&Ms.“

Kettles and Grains (Homebrew Shop)

“Pretty cool store with some great taps and great cans and bottles. Tap selection is small at 12 but well curated and looks as if it changes over often. All available in 5oz pours, so good for ticks. It appears they also roast malt right there for homebrewers, though not too clear on that side of the process. They have lots of kettles and homebrew stuff there. Also tons of good beer in 4 packs and singles in the fridge, either for onsite drinking or take out. They know what the good local stuff is and have a bunch of hip out of state stuff as well. Definitely worth a stopover, especially if your wife is shopping in the outlet stores across the highway like mine was. Decent service - well versed on beer. They have wifi. Prices a little on the high side.“

“Busy place on the main historic strip. Some heated standing tables outside, great for pandemic times. They do full pours and half pints here, COVID-19 times. Friendly service. Prices a little on the high side. Old German kind of motif inside, which matches the beers, which are mostly German style. The beers themselves aren't that great is the only problem. They seem to all have a very limey type flavour to them. The basic ones are a little better than the rarer German styles they do, but nothing is really stand out here. They did have a few rare styles here when I visited, which is nice.“

“Cool looking place in an old Virginia style home. Downstairs is a bar with a few seats in a couple rooms, also some seats and rocking chairs on the patio outside. There's a nicer seating areas upstairs as well, with some comfortable chairs. Really homey atmosphere. Beer is pretty good, mostly above average. Porter was really nice. Service friendly enough (it's COVID). Prices average. Flights available.“

“Believe it or not, I didn't realize this was the same place I'd visited a couple of years earlier when it was Bike TrAle. I guess I'd had a few back then. Anyway, beers are still pretty similar to the other Dynasty location here. A few boring lagers and one ok porter. They had some of the Mieza stuff in bottle, which was better at the other place than the regular Dynasty lineup. Nice old house with a decent patio. Friendly service. No flights right now due to COVID. I'd say try one of the other Leesburg breweries, but then again it's not like they are much better, with the exception of Crooked Run around the corner. Better just to go to Delerium Cafe.“

“Stopped in here on a Sunday. Friendly people and nice little set up. Decent mixture of styles, available in flights of four. Prices pretty good. Beer, well, ya. The beer could be a little better for sure. Avoid the beer/wine mixes they do. Outside patio was nice. Walking distance from all the others around.“

“Pretty cool place, of all places in Leesburg. And definitely great to hit up for some serious beer after a few local duds of breweries nearby. This place has a great list of all the Delirium entries plus some good Virginia local stuff. Nice tap list. Only the Delirium stuff is available on a flight. What's really good is their store cooler, where you can get some really good Belgian favourites at surprisingly low prices compared to D.C. Food was good - had the mussels. Friendly service, and a cool decor. Definitely worth a stop.“

“Stopped in there on my way out of Leesburg. Small tasting room. Taps about on par with other breweries. Staff was really nice and easy to chat with. Looks like a converted house, or something similar.“

“We came here on 7.8.2019. Very large farm house brewery not far from Dulles airport at highway 15. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon and was quite empty, but I know on weekend it can be packed. Liked the layout: long bar, visible brew house behind the bar, merchandising on the right and spacious outside place. Beers were not too bad.“

“Small bar with a few tables. Bartender was friendly but passive. The two dark beers were pretty decent, others ranged from bleh to passable. A block from Delirium Cafe, which is probably the best thing about the place.“

“Kinda bizarre to have the only US location in Leesburg, but we'll take it. Old building, so inside is not as spacious as it would likely be if in a new build-out. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Sat at the bar with my gal. Locals were very pleasant to drink with. Had chicken and waffles, nothing fantastic but good enough. All the Delirium beers on tap, with many other Belgians and nice list of locals. Overall we really enjoyed it, and I would definitely recommend for anyone in the Leesburg area.“

“Visited a couple of times in 2018. A pleasant restaurant which offers a wide range of beers, both on tap and in bottles, and very tasty pizzas. As Schlenkerla notes, a lot of the beers on tap are on the strong side, but I managed to find enjoyable session strength beers on both visits with the help of a knowledgeable waiter. Well worth a visit.“

“Located in an historic house on an historic street a few hundred yards from the W&OD trail. So far so good. Country western playing with drag races on TV but no PBR available. WTF? Beers were okay. I finished 3 of my flight of 4.“

“Friendly little place in an old house with a big patio in downtown Leesburg. Just a block away from Crooked Run. Staff was very friendly, prices on flights ok. Their beer was best at low alcohol - the higher abv stuff needs some work.“

“Massive place - so big that when I pulled up I thought "it must be somewhere behind this county fare" on a Saturday. Very busy, with live music and tons of seating indoors and out. Lineups were pretty long and prices for flights pretty steep - downtown DC prices in the middle of nowhere. Beer was ok - their imperial stout was best. IPAs could use some work.“

“Came here on 15.1.2018. This pizza and beer place is located close to the Main Street and the market in Leesburg. A digital screen displays the 15 beers on tap, a lot of specialities and a fridge full of US and international cans and bottles. I had a Pilsner from Lion brewery (PA) and a Tasmanian IPA from Schlafly (MO). 8 of their 15 beers had more than 8% alcohol. Was sitting at the bar with a good view to the fridge and the pizza oven. My wood fired pizza was quite good. Overall a really good place with a unique beer selection.“

“Came here on 12.12.2017. Finally I made it to the first and only Delirium Cafe in the USA after passing by so many times. Was very positively surprised. Although ambiance could be better as it feels too new and not dark enough, the beer selection was impressive. All the Delium’s and overall 27 really good draft beers. Have not explored their bottle selection. Beers were good (had a Tremens, a Red and a Nocturnum) and service was nice and forthcoming. For sure will come back.“

“Brewhouse? More like a glorified shed behind a house with some outdoor seating. Kind of a cool set up, but very exposed to rain/cold. Just down the strip from Black Hoof in historic Leesburg. Staff was OK, price were a touch higher than expected. Beer was average.“

“Right on the main drag in downtown, historic Leesburg. Two blocks from Black Walnut Brewing, three blocks for the original Crooked Run location and about four blocks from the W&OD Trail. Location is about as good as it gets. Decor is cool, outdoor tables, German beerhall style interior. Staff was friendly, beers seemed well price. Snacks only, but there's plenty of food nearby. But let's be frank; the beer just isn't very good. A wide range of styles (maybe too wide?), a few are overdone. IPA was fine, but in this area that won't cut it. Good luck, but need to improve.“

“The brewery is a small house in the back of a lot in downtown. Easy walking distance from several other breweries so Leesburg is a great place for a beer tour. The house is small and rickety I must say but it is koozie which is nice. There is a large patio outside to enjoy beer on a summer day when the weather is good. There is a second floor upstairs with a few more chairs and a small TV. The back room has a couple of tables and a huge chalk wall that anyone can right on. The bar area is rather small with a few kettles behind the bar where it appears they do all their brewing. Nice and friendly bartender and the local crowd was fun to talk to. Very friendly and very much in love with the place. Better then average brews here too. They are taking over the house in the front of the log with will probably double their available size so looking forward to that. Great people and good beer, certainly worth a visit if you are in Leesburg.“

“Not sure why this space keeps housing brewpubs (3rd or 4th I’ve been to), but I can’t say that the current incarnation is anything I hope sticks around. Food was fairly good, but the six beers were generally disappointing - nothing particularly good.“

“Wow what a sprawling place, very busy on a Saturday afternoon, great local, family-friendly vibe. Beers were mediocre to above average, 17 on tap. All that being said, we spent $70 to get 4oz sampler sizes for all 17 beers (in 1 12-beer sampler and 1 6-beer sampler). So that’s 72 ounces of beer, ~5 pints worth, for $70 (incl tax & tip), making this one of the worst values I’ve ever come across. It’d be one thing if this was RR or HF quality beer, but it wasn’t even in the neighborhood. Can’t see coming back here, even though the BBQ smelled great.“

“Three other brewpubs have occupied this space, the one I remember the most is Vintage 50. The appearance hasn’t changed a bit, they still have the small copper jacketed brewhouse up front, and they still write the beer menus on blackboards above the bar. They’ve just been open three weeks, so they still have a limited food menu, and plan a few more beers as well. Beers were all traditional, straightforward, safe styles, but they were well done and tasty; the IPA was more cutting edge, half California, half New England style. Six beers on offer, available as a complete flight of six (bonus points for that!). Very attentive, friendly, efficient service. Glad this place is open again, and on track to do very well. Apps were tasty, and I look forward to revisiting when they have a full menu.“

“Spectacular site, well-built-out building, and not one but two outdoor patios, so you can probably find a place out of the sun. Unfortunately, after that it begins to fall apart. None of the four beers I had were drinkable. None resembled even the vaguest notions of the professed style. Lots of trend-following (oh! lets put fruit extract in an IPA!), lots of trying difficult things without having mastered basics. Befuddling.“

“Ten minute drive from Barnhouse. Huge place on interesting grounds with a mix of old buildings, mostly crumbling, and buildings that look like government housing - I’d be curious to learn its history. Now growing hops, and looks to be set to grow more. On the grounds is a huge modern metal warehouse with a small brewhouse in the cavernous interior. This means bad acoustics - they had a guy playing an acoustic guitar with one very unnecessary speaker that made the sound deafening and conversation impossible. Ten beers on offer, available in a shockingly expensive $21 flight of six, or the full Monty - I didn’t ask the price. Beers were tasty and creative. They had food on offer, barbecue (no veggie options) - as pricey as the beer, but tasty. Very kid friendly, lots of little tykes playing football inside the brewery. Enthusiastic young servers; thankfully you can now sit at the bar and order, but it looks like the servers were required to ask me if I was doing OK every five minutes or so - really unnecessary. Interesting place.“

“After just having explored West Virginia brewpubs, I can well and truly say that this place is remote, holy cow. Once you find it, there’s plenty of parking outside a newly built fakey metal barn. This means the acoustics are a bit rough, though, but nothing that can’t be remedied. There’s a long bar, barrel tables, and a nice patio covered by tent tops. Visible through glass is a newly delivered seven barrel system, a nice step up from the garage homebrew system that started them down this journey - it should be in use soon. Beers were tasty, of course - ten of them on offer. Flight of four was seven bucks. Food is pretzels. Decent place, looking forward to seeing them transition to the new brewing system.“

“Sunday afternoon. Big open inside area with a huge bar and many tables. Sat at the bar. Terrible service, though it was not due to bored or inattentive staff, but rather a by-product of their system of requiring anyone not at the bar (i.e. sitting at one of the very many tables) to come to the end of the bar to order food and beer. Waitstaff do not take table orders. So, the entire bar staff is consumed with the long line of table sitters, ignoring the 25 people actually sitting at the bar. Staff were friendly but exasperated. Work it out management, this is a stupid system. Beer was decent. Reasonably priced. Did not eat. Apparently it is great bbq. I love bbq. I knew they have bbq. I knew they have great bbq. But the service/ordering situation was so fucked that I chose to forego it. Go there, but pray they took a minute to re-evaluate their process. Second visit January 7, 2017: first stop on a Saturday afternoon Loudoun County breweries and wineries trip. Service was MUCH improved. 14 beers on tap, mostly decent with a couple nice ones. Had the BVQ brisket, awesome. A duo with a guitar singing standard bar songs, pretty good though accoustics make it quite loud. Place got packed. Had a great time frankly.“

“Visited with GenDV138 a few weeks ago. The drive back to this place is pretty cool - there’s a number of old (unfortunately crumbling) stone buildings along the way, as well as a pretty large hop farm (Black Hops Farm). There were 16 house beers on tap, with a few collaborations available. A mighty number of beers available for a place that has only been open for about 6 months. Almost all the beer was excellent, a few okay beers. Nothing bad. Food was pretty awesome, Bryan Voltaggio bbq. It’s good enough to just come for the food.“

“Visited with GenDV138 on a rainy Saturday. They’ve just reopened. Gone are the close-quarters basement brewery (which had a pretty awesome charm to it). Now they are actually in a barn.

System seems to be the same, but they got room to grow. Bathroom is no longer on the other side of the laundry room.

Despite being closed for what feels like a year and a half or maybe even more, the owner remembered me. Beer was still tasty. Looking forward to taking some friends out here on a nice day. I’d certainly couple this with another brewery if you’re driving from afar. Vanish is about a 10 minute drive away, with a whole host of other breweries just a few additional minutes away.“

“Visited with radagast83 on a wet Saturday. Spacious brewery owned and located by Black Hops Farm, by a gravel road just off of Route 15 in Lucketts. Quite a few picnic tables inside along with a fairly long bar. Service was friendly and attentive. Selection of 16 house beers with a couple collaborations, decent selection of styles. Beer was average to above average with a couple standouts. Food is pretty tasty BBQ put together by Bryan Voltaggio (cleverly titled BVQ), several different meats and sides to choose from. Beer and food prices are about average for the area. $2-4 for individual 4 oz pours. Nice stop for beer and BBQ, especially if paired with other breweries in the area. Worth keeping an eye on these guys.“

“Visited with radagast83 on a wet Saturday, just a few weeks after Barnhouse finally opened this new location. Located off some gravel roads in rural Lucketts. Looks more like a proper brewery here than their old location. Nice spacious interior with a good amount of tables and bar space. Very friendly service. Solid selection of seven beers, six of their own and a collaboration from Old Ox. Decent variety of styles. No food but they have bowls of pretzels to munch on. Reasonable prices, flights for $7 or individual tasters for $2. Worth a stop paired with other Loudoun County breweries or if you happen to be nearby.“

“First of all, I did not enter this place. And I don’t think it deserves to be on Ratebeer. Restaurant on the main drag.
