“2023-06-09. Large spacious place with a nice looking patio and a bunch of garage doors that open up. Mix of seating styles feels like it is well spaced apart which would be nice when it's busier. 9 beers and 3 seltzers on tap today. Relatively short food menu but the pizza was good - we shared a pepperoni that was pleasantly cheesey and a good size. Tacos and other options also looked interesting. Server was friendly. Pretty quiet for a late lunch on a Friday - I suspect they get much busier and louder in the evenings! The four beers we tried were just okay for the most part.“

“2022-07-29. This might be the most touristy brewery I have ever been too, with a giant can and other ephemera on the outside. On a busy square on Clifton Hill the area is a cacophony of noise. We originally planned to possibly eat here but the crowds and the limited food menu (which does not list prices online, which makes me wonder how expensive it is) and frankly just us being tired after walking around the falls, we opted to grab a few cans to go. Beer styles are pretty accessible and mainstream. They are generally not to my taste, but some were decent. “

“2022-07-29. Located in a commercial / industrial area. Decent sized patio in the parking lot is a bit hot on a warm day. Inside is bigger. Flag system for service - you raise or lower a little sign to indicated you want service - is clever and suits me vs. servers constantly checking in. It worked well in our experience. Food menu looked good and I hear good things but we weren't hungry today. 10 taps, and "smoothie" beers available by the can. Disappointing visit beer wise, they have a positive reputation but the beers were generally not to my taste. The beer list leans heavily towards trendy hazy beers, flavoured sours, and the previously mentioned smoothies. (Mabel made me order the Latte Roller which I correctly guessed I wasn't going to enjoy so that's kind of on me.)I'd come back and try them again, but most of my beer complaints are about the styles they are choosing to brew. I personally find they are high risk high reward styles, with a small margin of error. For my own tastes Counterpart isn't hitting that margin, but maybe I am not who they are aiming for anyways.“

“Large modern production facility in a light industrial park. Tons of parking. Taproom at the side entrance has a large central bar but no stools, so I'm not sure if bar seating is allowed yet. But there are plenty of restaurant tables both inside and on an uncovered sunny patio outside. Brewhouse is a part of the taproom. Table service via an old school signaling system. Handul of styles features slushy sours that are actually pretty tasty. An oatmeal stout was decent too, a west coast IPA was actually a NEIPA in disguise. Food was decent, nice place for lunch.“

“THE place to go when in the Niagara area. A great selections of beers and the food is outstanding. The place was absolutely crazy on a Saturday afternoon. Kid friendly. There is an upstairs area as well where most of the people with kids were hanging out.“

“Rather small LCBO compared with other. Also a nice selection of local Craft beers, as well as lots of national and international craft beers. A little more interesting choices then the NBC. Friendly staff.“

“I like Hard Rock Cafes! Lots of Rock-Stuff, good music. Small beer selection 2 NFB on tap, 3 bottled craft beers the rest macros. Food is quite good, but also a little more expensive as usual. The last HRC in Canada. Stopover, if you like HRC“

“Modern brewery with a nice taproom downton Niagara Falls. Niagar Falls is a little like Disneyland. So the NBC is quite ok, crowded and average to good beers on tap. We spend a nice time with loud live music and beers, so everything was fine. Due to the loudness, the staff wasn`t very helpfull or in the mood of small talk. Best place for a beer at Niagara Falls (except the LCBO... ;.)).“

“Located away from the tourist center, this place offers convenient parking and a friendly vibe. Unfortunately they only have four of their beers on tap, none of which were noteworthy. I didn’t try anything from their food menu, which was basic pub grub.“

“NBC brewery and taproom are just a few minutes walk from Horseshoe Falls. Busy, touristic place. Food and beers are very pricey. Beer average at most. Flights are available. When you visit the falls, the place for ticks.“

“We came here on 15.3.2019. Located next to the Sheraton we were staying. You expect a brewpub more on the commercial side in such a touristic spot, therefore we were not disappointed. Brewhouse in the back, small bar and a few tables. A larger restaurant area is available in the upper floor, which was closed when we came. On the top they have an outside terrace with a huge kettle in the middle. Small food menu, all prepared next to the bar. The beers were average. The SMASH was the best, the IPA and the Lager were both too malty and could not match the style criteria. Ben would have appreciated the very nice service and the musician, who started playing around 8 pm. Overall considering you are in one of the most popular touristic areas on earth, not a bad choice.“

“Brewpub in a strange area. Doesn´t really fit in my opinion. Music even in the patio was too loud. Looks more like a Hard Rok Cafe. On the other hand a clean place, friendly stuff. Had the Big Bang Flight with 8 of their beers. Wife and son had a cheese plate. Prices are okay.“

“Nice big new fancy clean place. They had about 10 beers on tap and a bottle selection. I really enjoyed the stout. My wife enjoyed the wheat beer with a orange. Yes, she said it was like Blue Moon. We got prompt service from a very nice looking young lady. She had some beer knowledge too, a plus. We just wanted a fast beer and were on our way that day. We had a good time. They were selling some cans of their beers to go. We wanted to get a stout and Wheat beer to go, but they were not canned. Only their older stuff that I did not like before.“

“An open plan brewery encompassing a bar and restaurant in a large warehouse-like building. There are also dartboards and a pool table plus a stage at the back as it’s a music venue as well. We had a mini tour of the brewery, which is quite low tech., and were told that they also have two microbreweries elsewhere. There were twelve taps and the beers were in good condition but the range was rather limited as there were no stouts or IPAs on. (Visited 5 November 2012).“

“Seven months old, it is great to have something like this here. Glad to have a few more selections than the usual 5 or so you see everywhere. Great art on the cans, mix and match cans to go are nice, big bar and clean facility. Hopefully they up the quality of the beer. We did not eat here but it looked decent. Prices were good.“

“This is more or less what you’d expect for a shiny new brewpub nestled right in the middle of the most touristy street of a quite touristy town - glass and polished steel surfaces everywhere, high top tables, nothing resembling regulars in the crowd, and exactly eight beers on tap at any given time (flight of all 8 conveniently priced at about $1.50 per beer). The beer selection features lagers and hoppy ales in roughly equal mixture, with the caveat that what I call "hoppy", quite a few BAs call "malt bombs with zero trace of any hops at all", and a radler/shandy that drinks like straight peach juice. I enjoyed a handful of the beers, and hated a handful. I don’t know that I’d bother returning, if I made another trip to the Niagara area.“

“Located close to the river, in the most touristy quarter, this place is a modern brewpub where one can stop for a pint and try to relax if the music upstairs is not too loud. The staff are very friendly, if slow, and they do flights. The selection includes eight taps of own and other local produce, reasonably drinkable, all of it. Not veyr cheap but not very expensive, either. Might be back if I am in NF again.“

“What a crap fu..ing store! The selection sucs big time, even though they have some craft beers, even though we found 12-15 shitty macro beers we hadn’t had before and even though the girl who helped us out were cute. The very few craft beers they have are either six-packs only or hdden in the warehouse, and to be honest, the selection and the fill grade of the shelves reminded me of a late Soviet era store. Crap, shit, stay away. Unfotunately, LCBO isn’t much better.“

“Nice brewpub with a small (4, when I went) selection of their own beers, plus taps from other acceptable brewers (Hop City). Food was good and well-priced. The beers themselves were fine, though I didn’t get to try their IPA which was disappointing. Will return whenever I’m in Niagara Falls.“

“A great spot for beer in Niagara Falls. It is a little removed from the touristy area and the falls themselves, but still walkable from there if you want to. The architecture/set up was a little strange for me - almost warehouse-like with high ceilings. There is a dining area, then the tanks, right behind the bar itself. So the tanks are in the middle of the restaurant, which is a little weird. Also not much decoration on the walls and whatnot, just felt like an empty place (in addition there were like 2-3 other customers on a Monday afternoon). Anyway, apart from that, I really enjoyed the beer. I tried the IPA, Kolsch, Schwarzbier, and pumpkin and all were great. Pretty good prices ($4.50 for an imperial pint). I thought the food was overpriced for what it was (got a chicken souvlaki which was a little dry and the mashed potatoes were completely bland, for $14). My overall rating might be a little low based on a combination of all the score components, but I really enjoyed the beer there and would recommend stopping here for a pint.“

“Compared to some of the LCBO outlets in the Toronto are this one had less stuff. Service is nonexistent since it’s run by the government and thus there’s no requirement you actually have to know anything about anything. They had a few local Micros but most of it was various representations of pale lagers owned by the BMC crew. They have a ton of tall boys in their cooler probably 8-9 what you’d see in a typical American grocery store. The prices are horrendous about 30-100% more then you would pay in the states.“

“Strange location, I think they would do better a little closer to the heart of Nia falls, but wasn’t hard to find, nice big building, first think you notice is the tall ceiling, Dining room and Bar spilt by the brewing tanks, I think the dining room atmosphere would just be that much better if they put glass plating behind the booths that face the bar, and the tanks, it just felt weird so open, we really liked the food and it was pretty reasonable priced, I go here fairly often nw“

“Niagara Falls, a police state. Cruise the town in a car or truck to find it, but beware as it is heavily policed.Visited here with Cratez on a Monday afternoon. We were greeted with a very large and well lit warehouse that seated a bar to sit at, a brew house, a dining room, and an open concept kitchen. One can see what is going on in every corner of the restaurant at any time. We sat at the bar, where we noticed a new addition to the scene here, a cask engine. They were waiting for their next cask to be ready, so it was not available. Service was fairly standard. Not poor, not great. The basic meet and greet, "what can I get for you?" was about it. We tried to strike up chat with the barkeep but he was more interested with his co-workers and other patrons. Can’t say I blame him really, we weren’t that interesting. One thing I can say is that the service was attentive at the very least. There were 10 taps to choose from. I went with the Taps Chuck Norris, Hefe, and 80/-. All were well made and worth ordering again. There were also guest taps from Niagara’s best. One thing I must say about this place is that the value here is unmatched. $3.50 pints on Sunday. $10 burger and 20 oz pint.$19.80 3 LITER "pitchers". It goes on and on. Based on this aspect, the place is a repeat visit for me. Growlers are available to go. Good overall.“

“My friends and I popped in here for a beer run before spending the weekend in Niagara On The Lake. Some warm cases of mainstream beer (Molson, Sleeman, Heineken) were mixed in with the wine and spirits while the micros were at the back of the store. The selection was very underwhelming as the only notable beers were Great Lakes Devil’s Pale Ale, Muskoka Cream Ale, Elora Extra Special Bitter, and Niagara’s Best Blonde Ale and Lager. That was it. No US crafters available on our visit and there were many more half-cases and six packs than single bottles and cans. Service was average - the cashier smiled at us and rung our stuff through with relative speed. Overall we were pretty disappointed with this place since we only managed to grab the micros I mentioned above. This store has been listed on BA and RB because of it’s proximity to the border, but Americans who are interested in Canadian brews will fare much better at Taps Brewing Company and the recently renovated Syndicate. You can buy growlers and six packs of quality, local craft beer and quirky one-offs at both brewpubs. In hindsight I should have gone to the breweries at the start of my trip rather than the end, as the Ferry & Stanley LCBO is severely lacking in the beer department.“

“I came here in June 2010 after spending a weekend in Niagara On The Lake for a friend’s wedding. My primary objective was to grab a couple growlers of the brewpub’s best beers since I was on my way home and short on time. Despite being in a rush, I took a few minutes to wander around the attractive, sparkling interior. The ten-seater bar overlooks a large and beautiful outdoor patio. There’s a sizable dining area behind the bar and the chefs are all decked out in professional garb, so on the surface it appears they take their food seriously. I was extremely satisfied with the quick and friendly service as the waitress gave me a 4oz sample of the Rye Knot before I purchased a growler of it. I also bought a six pack of the Premium (Dortmunder) Lager. Both were good if unspectacular beers. They didn’t have the Chuck Norris IPA ready yet, which was very disappointing, but whatever. Other draughts were the Vanilla Wheat, Charleston Lager, and Rauchbier, with Neustadt 10w30 and Flying Monkeys Hoptical Illusion serving as the two guest taps. The vibe seems welcoming and unpretentious, as even the patrons were all smiles on my visit. In addition to the quality service, the head brewer was out on the floor chatting it up with some tourists. Certainly a place that I would frequent if I lived in the area. Basically this brewpub is an up-and-comer in the Ontario beer scene, and if I had more time I would have sat down and ran through every one of their offerings. A great spot that’s doing rare yet traditional styles, and I was really impressed with the inviting, professional layout inside.“

“Nice building, the food was decent but nothing to write home about. The beer selection was disapointing, only 3 beers on tap, and all of them were available in the LCBO. They said on their website that they were tapping a pumpkin beer the day i was going, but the staff looked at me like i had 3 heads when i mentionned it. The staff was not the friendliest ’ve ever met. All in all, i dont see myself going back.“

“Horrendously stupid way to sell beer. It feels like you are in a communist nation that must tightly control consumer choice and sequester the products away from sight. The only beers that are "touchable"by the consumer are macro big brewery offerings. Everything else is posted on a big menu, and you ask an employee to fetch whatever it is you want from the back room. So, if you are a visitor and wish to read a label, or check out some product info before buying, YOU’RE FUCKED, unless you want to piss off the Beer Store worker (there were only 2 that I saw when I was there, with an average of 4 people in line at any given time) by having them run back and forth, retrieving various beers for you to look at. The two workers were nice enough, but neither of them had a clue about the micro brews that were listed for sale. Frustrating! Basically this system caters to brand-loyal consumers and provides a huge barrier to those seeking choice.“

“the remaking of the Taps Virgil brewing operation as a brew pub has produced some wonderful revolving offerings I feel I can recommend to everyone. Yes they’re mostly German styles but they are made well in small batches, they’re fresh, on style, clean and very very drinkable. So far the new head brewer (who has an impressive CV for such a young guy) includes a Dortmunder, Munich Dunkel, Bamberg Rauchbier, Roggenbier, Bockbier, Vanilla weissbier and an intense micro IPA. They also have the commercial Taps beers on tap as well as Flying Monkeys Hoptical and Newstadt !0/30. There is also a hand pulled cask engine for special casks they crack on invitation. http://tapsbeer.com/taps-brewing-company/taps-beer-selection/ The ambiance at Taps is pretty spartan but it’s all sparkling new interior furnishings and the theme is unpretentious....like a block party in a small neighborhood brewery with live music and solid (good) unpretentious pub fare...I tried the Buffalo Style Chicken Sandwich on sourdough Focaccia...ample portion, fresh, well made, tasty, reasonable price. http://tapsbeer.com/taps-on-queen-menu-items/ I was pleasantly surprised to discover Taps has mutated into a comfy decent little local brew pub with some decent on-tap offerings and good pub grub. Worth a destination crawl or a definite must stop in Niagara Falls.“
