“This is one of those pubs that’s adorned with pump clips from top to bottom. I’ve been coming here, on and off, since 2004-ish, but lately it’s years in between visits (with very little change though). Good place for beer. Four cask, with Batemans XB as regular. Often a few interesting beers from local-ish breweries are available as guests. There are also a few ciders and a smattering of Belgians. While the Belgians will throw you few surprises, the prices are incredibly low for some of them. There are occasional beer festivals with clever themes.“

“Great ale. The locals laid a suspicious eye on a couple of yank tourists showing up mid-day. Package food only, it seems, but the stuffed rolls were to die for. Backed by its own brewery. If you see the turnoff for Sandy, take it and proceed down the long road (pub on left).“
