“Not a bad fullers pub. Nice location near the station with its garden furniture aesthetic. A number of UK taps, a few cask ales, some bottled craft beers, on the whole, a good destination.“

“Very pleasantly done up little pub straddling the train platform, a very nice place to drink. Typical Fuller’s range, no more or less than one might expect - they had one guest cask. Food portions large, quality ok. Service friendly enough but a bit haphazard as it got busier. Nice place to drink though if in the area.“

“Corner pub and restaurant near Kew gardens. Roomy inside. Beer and cider selection fairly limited but the food we had was good. No longer a brewery in the pub.“

“Visited in august 2015 with beery friends. Very spacy pub, that more reminds you of a reception at a hotel, as the name also migth indicate.. Easy to find, just a few minutes walk from Kew Station. Rather large bar, placed in the center. Good range of beers, served in good condition. Friendly staff, worth a visit being in the area.“

“Visited in august 2015 with beery friends. Cosy and friendly pub, just at Kew Station. Large beergarden, friendly service. They do food as well, but we didn´t eat this time. Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Not a huge selection of beers, but the beers were served in good condition. Had a small ciderfestival on, when we visited.“

“A nice gastropub just a few minutes’ stroll from the station. Nice selection of beers, both bottled and on tap. Very friendly staff. Good food and excellent service. The Redwell Steam Lager was a very pleasant surprise.“

“Nice bottle shop with beers, wines and spirits. Beerwise there is a focus on local beers. We found quite a few new bottles to bring home. Prices are what you can expect in London. Conveniently located a few minutes from Kew station.“

“A gastropub with 6 handpumps welcomes ale drinkers. But beware 3 were from Greene King! What brought me back was news that they have beers from the new Kew brewery. Though tonight none were on. Instead GK Ipa and worse still was a rebadge with no GK markings/warnings very deceivingly calling itself "Kew True Brew" (then they wonder why we hate them!) Also on were Trumans Runner, Adnams Ghost Ship and some house badged beer, no doubt from GK. Nothing interesting on keg. Bus 391 stops outside or a 3 mins walk to Kew Gardens station.“

“A rather nice Fuller’s pub that is part of the train station. The highlight here might be the very fetching patio. There were only three cask ales that I counted (all Fuller’s and Gale’s) plus some Fuller’s kegs and a few macro items. An interesting bottle range on offer, including Beavertown and Chimay, along with Fuller’s. Average pricing, adequate service. A great spot to sit and have a beer while waiting for your train.“

“A pretty good place for beer, but the emphasis is certainly on wine. There are around 30 beers on offer, including things from Weird Beard, Moncada, Twickenham and The Kernel. Pretty fair prices. The staff always seem ready to help. Convenient location just a couple of minutes from the train station. Worth popping in if you’re in Kew but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit here.“

“A somewhat grand and spacious pub/restaurant. Very nice ambiance. Six cask, seemingly well kept, with one local (Twickenham) plus some Sharps and Greene King. Three Camden beers on keg, a range of bottles. Premium pricing. Friendly service. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. There don’t seem to be that many options in the vicinity, though.“

“Pub-restaurant that’s recently added craft beers to a range of well-kept cask ales. Six hand pumps plus eight or so keg taps and a fridge with a small selection of local and international bottles. Expect to see real ales from London microbrewers, kegs from Meantime & Camden, plus a few foreigners such as Moretti. The real ale range seems to change more often than the keg range. The pub is operated by a Greene King subsidiary, but the only GK beers in evidence are Noble lager and the house ale (rumoured to be a rebadged GK IPA).“

“***Update late 2013 - now taken over by M&B who have closed the brewery with immediate affect. Pub still open*** An interesting pub layout with the brew equipment as the centrepiece in the pub, no glass segregation like most brewpubs I have visited (I do wonder about infections...) I have found their beers inconsistent in quality ranging from good to undrinkable and not exactly cheap at about £4/pint (though they give CAMRA members discount). Despite being fairly local I have not been for almost a year as I am waiting until things improve quality wise, which I am told is happening, gradually. Worth visiting if in the area.“

“Visited for the first time around 5pm on Thursday 28th February 2013. Medium to large sized brew pub with a central bar and rooms to the left and right (slightly smaller and more dining orientated so it seemed). Bar carried 6 cask lines - all Botanist and some average so so taps. Decor was nice, an upmarket gastro type of place, all wooden floors and mix of wooden seats, tables, vintage style affair, mix of chairs and some leather bench seating. Only 7 or 8 other punters on my arrival but this had risen to 25/30 by the time I left 40 or so minutes later. Service was good, albeit not busy, and I was offered samples. They acually do a 3 x 1/3rd pint sample bat for £3.45 but this doesn’t work out any cheaper than buying 1/3rd pints at £1.15 a go !!! Nice place - will come here for dinner at some point in the future.“

“A decent little shop with a kindly old woman at the till (when I visited, at least). They have an OK range of beers for sale including a lot of ’standards’, though on my visit I didn’t find anything particularly interesting. Probably a good option if you live in this neighbourhood, but definitely not a destination shop.“

“Visited this place 6/8-2012, together with some great beer friends. Rather large brewpub just outside the famous Kew Garden. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. With 6 taps its possible to have a nice selection of their beers. The brewery is a part of this place, very nice :-) The Botanist have a small beer garden and also a bottle selection. They have a nice menu, both for lunch and dinner, we didn´t eat there, but for sure will be back to eat and try their Queen Charlotte, which wasn´t on that day :-)“

“A nice brewpub. Upscale, with lots of seating and plenty of natural light. Good prices. Nice range of house beers (appx. six on my visit) plus about 20+ bottled beers from other breweries. The house beers are decent, though nothing has blown me away. Friendly staff, happy to offer samples - and they were generous with their samples. Food menu looked good, though I didn’t eat on my visit. Pleasant music, nice decor. As one of only a handful of true brewpubs in London, this place definitely one of (if not THE) best. Well worth making the trip here.“

“A nice and cozy restaurant with a small brewery. Decent beers indeed, friendly service and the food where fabulous. We went for some charring platters with tapas and ending up with one of the better meals I’ve ever had at a British pub. Not a typical pub, but a restaurant with a brewery and a decent beer selection. A good alternative for lunch if the wife has an interest for botanic and gardens.“

“Modern wine shop located a couple of minutes from Kew Station (i.e. on the way to the Botanist Brewpub). As well as wine they have a much better than average selection of international beers. Included in the selection are La Trappe, Traquair, Brewers Union and Flying Dog. Beer is located on the immediate left-hand side of the store, as well as right at the back in a fridge. Well worth popping in when you’re in the area.“

“Modern brewpub located just off Kew Bridge. Some nice touches - such as the exposed ingredients tables. The small brew kit is located right in front of the bar. I’ve had a couple of their beers before and they are of pretty decent. The main disappointment was that on a Friday night they only had 2 of their beers of draft!! Bottle list is solid, with the likes of Magic Rock, Thornbridge and flying dog, but it’s damn expensive for what it is! The food is modern pub fare and pretty tasty at that. Will have to return when they have more beers on. Has potential.“

“We visited here on the Thames Tipple 05.11.11, this was not in the book to go to instead it was a Fins ’Brucie Bonus’. Quite modern inside, but spacious and with 4 of their own beers on offer along with a Twickenham seasonal, there is also a great bottled beer selection with Thornbridge, Magic Rock amongst the UK choices and Flying Dog amongst the US beers on offer. Whilst it is a decent selection £5+ for a Kipling or Jaipur does seem a tad steep. The Botanist beers were decent on the whole the only exception being the Dunkelberry which I really couldn’t get on with. Nice place, friendly staff and I guess a welcome addition to an area where Fullers and Youngs rule supreme. Btw the food looked really good.“

“With the launch of the in-pub brewery (which will also supply some of the other pubs in this small group) and a list of bottles, including a few interesting ones, this place is hoping to ride the craft wave. It’s doing a fair job too - those I tried of the 7 house real ales were well crafted, the food was good too. It is pretty comfy with a few nooks, and areas with varied ambiance. A bit pricey maybe, but not so much for Kew!“
