“Очень крутой сайт по выбору пиваса. Много крафта из Англии а также богатейший выбор Бельгии включая просто тонну дорогих Ламбиков. Также представлены другие классические пивасы из Европы. Сайт удобный, все приходило во время.“

“Online shop review, from February 2019. Decent selection of UK beers, looks like they get most of the latest releases in from the top breweries, fairly good selection of international stuff too. Pricing was good. Quick delivery. Excellently packaged (double boxed, dividers, plenty of padding). No problems at all with this site. August 2019 update: Excellent customer service too. Placed another order from here and a beer was out of stock, they called and emailed to apologise and ask what I'd like as a replacement, even threw in an extra beer for free. Great people running this place.“

“This beer store has six casks and 10 keg lines, but not all were on at our visit. They also have a very good selection of local beers, craft beers from other parts of the UK as well as a foreign selection. You can drink in for at fee.“

“Good selection on Tap and good amount of British beers to buy. International Selection not as wide but enough variety to keep everyone happy. Not far from me so will definitely be a frequent visitor. Very friendly and Knowledgable Staff“

Half Moon (Bar)

“I hadn’t been to the Half Moon since about 2009, and I figured there was no way I could exclude it from a Hitchin mini-pub crawl. Hitchin has changed imperceptibly around it, but the Half Moon stays as traditional - and as popular - as ever. Talk of the General Election was in the air (no prizes for the Hertfordshire faithful’s choice), so I made my way to the friendly bar and ordered one of their cask ales. Nothing will blow you away, although the beers are well-chosen (Oakham, St Austell, Weird Beard) and well-kept. Lovers of the juice of the orchard will find half a dozen lovely ciders and perries. This is kind of the ’Live and Let Live’ of Hitchin: trad to the core but gloriously so.“

“I mightn’t have stopped here save for WingmanWillis’ review combined with the proximity to the train station. It’s so traditionally pubby that it makes the Half Moon (q.v.) feel like a hipster paradise. Jukebox tunes on low (someone put on Bron-Y-Aur, one of the more obscure Zep tunes), but the real music here is the conversation oiled by very good beer. The choice isn’t amazing: three cask, a few macro and almost-macro keg, no bottles that are worth your while. The cask is perfectly kept, and on the right night you might pick up a tick (I’m on a beer from Leighton Buzzard so all is well). Leonard’s ’So Long, Marianne’ is playing now, and I know I’m in what would be my cask local if I lived here. It’s a lovely experience. Come if you get a chance.“

“My first stop in Hitchin. Unfortunately it closes at 7 tonight or I can assure you I’d stay here all evening. Part bottle shop, part drink-in tasting room, this smart, well-lit and gregarious beer haven will tempt you with 6 casks (5 beers, 1 cider) and 10 kegs (although as WingmanWillis attests not all of which are operational). I had a Wild Beer sour and the famous Cloudwater v13 here, to give you an idea of the offerings. Hard rock playing softly in the background. Every town needs a place like this!“

“Visited on 17th February 2017. Live music pub about 5 mins from Hitchin station. It’s a little rough and ready with the front door looking a bit worse for wear. The interior is scruffy but has a lived in feel to it. Beer range was pretty decent with 4 handpulls. Picked up a new Haresfoot beer here. Quality and price decent. Wouldn’t dash here but handy stop off on way to station from town.“

“Visited on 17th February 2017. Bar/bottle shop about 10 mins from the station and just about in the town centre. It’s a large single room but is split in two with shelving stocking a great array of US and European beer. On the right hand side is a seating area with benches that was busy and people had spilled into the bottle shop area. 16 taps, 6 cask and 10 keg with a great mix of beer including Wild beer and others but not all taps had beer on. Also has a good range of local beers in bottles too. Really smart looking place, service friendly, prices decent. Best place in town by a mile!“

“Visited on 17th February 2017. Gastropub type venue a good 20 mins walk from the station, as my accomplice had a gammy foot we had a cab from the station. It’s a lovely old venue with a real smart but traditional feel. It’s set up for dining and was heaving on the Friday night we visited, lots of small rooms. We managed to find a spot to perch and had a swift beer from Farrs. Beer quality was solid, range was decent enough with 4 handpulls on. Prices decent. Nice old pub and worth the hike.“

“Opened for a couple of months at time of review. Second shop in the ’chain’ with the first in St.Albans. Had a bottle stock of what looked like about 300 different beers and around 10 taps on. Good range of craft beers plus very good selection of local bottled real ale. Split about 50/50 between U.K. and ROTW. Taps tended to be higher abv, but was able to enjoy a third from London Brew whilst browsing. The shop is divided into two parts with the left side the bottle shop and the right as a bar area. If I was local I would be a regular. Well worth a visit if in area.“

Half Moon (Bar)

“Great range of real ale, almost a constant ale festival. Once you’ve got through the 6 hand-pumps there’ll usually be something new on one of them! The beer is always in perfect condition. The lunch menu (midday-14:00) is excellent value for money. We try to pop in regularly for Sunday lunch and beer. The home-made burgers, especially the Stilton one, are highly recommended. Not much in the way of entertainment, other than the regulars (who can be rather entertaining!) A conversationalists pub.“
